## What is Boukili?

Boukili, presented by Groupe média TFO, provides an immersive, interactive and educational reading experience for children ages 4 and up, whether they are native to the language or still learning French.
Boukili encourages children to read and supports them by offering a collection of hundreds of illustrated books grouped by reading level, theme and skill. Boukili offers different reading modes to young readers according to their needs: narration mode (listening to the book), solo mode (independent reading) or voice recording mode.
Boukili is a customizable tool for teachers, parents and children. Teachers have access to a dashboard allowing them to:
create a profile for each student (unlimited number of students!)
assign readings to students according to their level and interests
listen to student recordings
view the progress of each student
send messages of encouragement

A version adapted for parents also gives them access to a dashboard where they can track and guide their child’s progress.
Boukili makes learning to read fun by offering quizzes and a cute avatar to customize. The theme of travel is ever-present, with the possibility of unlocking countries to discover. Children gain confidence while discovering the wonderful world of reading!

When you play the game where you choose objects on the screen “trouvez les objets suivants” the screen is cropped.. also when we click “contact support” in App Store it goes to a 404.. game is great so these bugs are unfortunate.

Excellente application qui me permet à la fois de suivre les progrès de mes enfants en terme de prononciation, de compréhension de lecture grâce aux questions qui viennent en fin de lecture et aussi d’activité de divertissement. Effectivement il m’est arrivée plus d’une fois d’utiliser les jeux quand nous devons attendre notre tour chez le médecin,…et le petit plus, je l’utilise sur ma TV, ce qui permet aux grands-parents de participer à la lecture des petits-enfants ! Hâte de voir le nouveau catalogue de livres.

I would really appreciate if the books had a syllable-colorization option like in the book series called ‘1 syllabe à la fois’. Then I could have an easier time sounding out the words with my kid.

This app is great for learning French. My kids use it to help with reading in their French immersion practice. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because it is categorized as a game rather than education. 

We use screen time to limit our children’s gaming time, however because this is categorized as a game and I can’t give it an exception and it uses up the time that they would otherwise using on games. This heavily reduces my children’s desire to use boukili whereas I’d rather allow them to use it as much as they want. Screen time doesn’t allow fine controls that let me carve out boukili as an exception for the games limitations I’ve set. if you’d like to solve this issue, please re-categorize this under education.
