## What is Bouldering Plan?

I'm Frank Blokdijk, a boulderer and coach. I hated every training app I tried, so I made this one.

Build a session from 260 exercises, each with its sets, rest and injury risk. Put your sessions into a plan that runs for weeks, and log what you did. Training information should be free, so building, planning, logging and testing cost nothing. You need a free account: Sign in with Apple or email.

SESSIONS
Pick exercises for your warm-up, strength work, climbing and mobility, or let the builder fill a session for the time you have. Every exercise also shows its minutes and how hard it is. Change one exercise's rounds, reps, work time, rest or minutes for today only, put strength exercises together as a superset, or add exercises of your own.

The catalog runs from warm-ups to the campus board: limit boulders, 4x4s, max hangs and repeaters, density bouldering, weighted pull-ups, antagonist and mobility work, and easy climbing for a Base period.

PLANS
Build a plan week by week in training periods: Base, Strength, Power, Power Endurance, Endurance, Performance and Deload. Copy a week, save templates, add the plan to your calendar, or plan for someone you coach. Today's session sits at the top of Home with a Start button. When a plan ends, a wrap-up shows what you did and how your tests moved.

COMMUNITY
Share your plans and exercises on the Community tab, and add and rate what other climbers shared. Your dates and logbook stay yours.

LOGBOOK, TRENDS AND TESTS
- Log every boulder as a flash, a send or an attempt, with its grade, wall angle, goes and a note. Rate the session from 1 to 10.
- Share a session as a story card or sticker, and save sessions to Apple Health.
- Trends: grade history, grade pyramid, send rate by wall angle and training load per week.
- Tests: max hangs on a 20 mm edge in half crimp and open hand, a two-rep max pull-up, a max hang for time and bodyweight, plus tests of your own.
- Widgets for today's session, your week and your trends. Export your logbook as CSV or JSON.

PRO
- Guided sessions. Press Start and put the phone down. Work and rest are counted down with beeps, rounds and sets ticked off, and attempts wait for you to tap Done. Log each boulder from the timer and see it on your Lock Screen.
- Plan generator. Pick the period, the weeks, your days and how long your sessions are. It builds every session from coaching rules, keeps hard finger days apart and plans in lighter weeks.
- Workload. Each session's training load from its minutes and how hard it was, this week against your usual range, and your finger load on its own.
- €4.99 a month, €29.99 a year (the first 7 days free) or €79.99 once. Everything in the free app stays free.

COACHES
- Write a plan for each climber or send one to a squad. It shows up in their app, and when you change it, it changes there.
- See their logbook, tests, Workload and the check-in they send before training. Finger pain goes to the top of your screen.
- One on one or squads, adults or youth. Under 16, a parent says yes first, and youth squads keep a height record so a growth spurt shows.
- Free for up to five climbers, who join with a code and use the free app. Coach at bloksessions.com/coach or in this app's coach view.

WHO IT'S FOR
Boulderers who train on purpose and want to train in periods instead of climbing hard all year. It won't teach you to climb. You make the plan; it keeps the plan, your training load and your record in one place.

Your training stays on your phone until you switch on backup. No ads and no trackers.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.6 — 2026-10-23

Blok Sessions now asks once whether we can see which tabs you open, so we can tell what helps and where people get stuck. It's off unless you say yes, and you can change it any time in Settings → Analytics.

### 1.5.5 — 2026-10-21

Blok Sessions now comes in 19 languages, from Dutch and German to Japanese and Korean, and follows your phone's language.

Active rest days can hold exercises now. Add a run or some mobility, then start and log it like any other session.

Workload: tag where you climbed (gym wall, board or outside) and see where the week's load went.

Coaching: tests your coach asks for show up on Home until you've logged them. You can start any day of your coach's plan, move a day to fit your week, and join a squad straight from a scanned code or link. Coaches can add photos to their own exercises and set one to run without a timer.

### 1.5.3 — 2026-10-15

Got a Tindeq Progressor? Connect it under Progress, Tests, Force tests and measure your max pull, rate of force, endurance, repeaters and Critical Force without another app. While it's connected, the guided timer shows how hard you're pulling on hangboard exercises.

You can sign in with Google now.

A week of a plan that hasn't started yet can be deleted in one go.

Backing up how you feel and old injuries now waits for your OK. Tick it on your profile if you want them in your backup.

Coaching: join your coach's squad under Profile, Coaching. Coaches can switch the app to coach view and run their squads from the gym.

### 1.5.2 — 2026-10-11

The guided player is free for your first week, and the app now tells you where it counts: when you sign up, under your first session, and next to Start on Home.

If you saved a plan on bloksessions.com before signing up, the app keeps it instead of building you a second one.

Sign-up asks where you heard about Blok Sessions. You can skip it.

A shared plan or exercise with impossible numbers can't crash the app any more, and an invite link opened while you're signed in asks before it uses the code.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-10-08

Signing up now ends with your first week. Your answers suggest the days, a tap changes any of them, and the app fills your first session so you see how a session is built. You can skip it and plan later.

The Plan tab starts with your next session, with Start on the day itself. Training days that still need exercises are marked, weeks that repeat fold into one row, and every exercise is in the new Exercise library.

Pick "A bit of everything" if you climb for fun, in sign-up or in the plan generator. Sign-up now takes 2 to 7 days a week, and your birth year is optional.

A session you're in the middle of comes back if your phone closes the app in the background.

Setting days work out their own workload, boulder counts and grades on the Log step are picked with wheels, and your phone can suggest a strong password when you sign up with email.
