The app works pretty well, but isn’t ideal for the screen dimensions. You get big black bars on both sides of the display, so that sorta detracts from the experience ### 3/5 — Really amazing app but for it to be really something it needs a update! *2018-11-30, version 2.0* Boulevard AR is a really wonderful app, as a art student I found it opened up new ways of thinking and critiquing art with it’s viewing and podcast like feature. However for 2.99 I would have expected more than just three paintings featured, hopefully their will be an update of some more paintings soon, maybe even statuary would be interesting... ### 1/5 — Not worth it! *2018-05-30* I’m not sure what exactly this app is charging for that makes it worth the expense I’m unhappy with it and deleted it before i have paid my CC bill. Please add more art ### 1/5 — Doesn’t t work well *2018-05-24* No picture showing or pictures are showed from the back. **Developer response:** Hello 陈幸福c x f, It sounds like maybe you were having trouble opening the Portrait of Sir Henry Unton up into its expanded mode. Once you have scanned the floor or the wall and placed the painting, in its entire view, you can press a button below the picture to expand it into 9 different vignettes/scenes. Once in expanded mode, you can activate each of these 9 scenes of Sir Henry’s life by tapping on the diamonds on the bottom of the screen. We will also have more paintings to choose from coming to the app this summer so make sure to keep your app updated. Developer should’ve waited for at least a few before launching the app. I’ve shown it to my kids and they enjoyed it, but they’re already done with it because it’s only 1 painting. One. The description is incredibly misleading. ### 1/5 — ONLY ONE PAINTING! *2018-05-08, version 1.0.3.1* Not worth the price! Great idea and app but you only get ONE PAINTING! Please add more or refund the price of the app. DO NOT BUY! ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2018-04-25, version 1.0.3.1* This just didn’t work. I stood in front of the painting waving my phone around to scan it but to no avail. Nothing happened so I gave up. Then I discovered that the app only works with one painting anyway! Not even good value if free but at £2.99, a joke. ### 2/5 — Buyer Beware! Only one painting included! *2018-04-13* I stupidly bought the app thinking it would actually include more than one painting. It doesn’t. It contains just the one. And a couple minutes of discussion about it. It’s not worth the asking price for what you get. Just make sure to keep the app updated on your device, and you will see what is new when it arrives in the App Store. ### 1/5 — Can’t scan my art at home *2018-10-17* I downloaded this app to learn more about the art we have in our home but the only options I seem to have access to are the three works that currently come with the app. Not sure if it’s operator error on my part or if the app’s description was misleading, but I could have bought an ice cream cone for $2.99 instead. 😕 **Developer response:** Gundy Gberger- It sounds like you were maybe looking for a different app. Boulevard AR brings the world’s great art to you in augmented reality. It is not an image recognition tool - Google’s reverse image search will do a pretty good job of that if you are looking to find out more about the art that’s already in your home. We do hope however, that you were able to learn about the works featured in Boulevard AR from wherever you are. ### 1/5 — Worthless at best *2018-10-16* Content There are 3 subjects to look at and the interface completely disappoints. Not sure what the 5 star ratings were seeing the app is nothing less than a scam. Claims made on the capability’s of the app very overstated or maybe just not obvious. Please save your money **Developer response:** TFKIII55- It sounds like you maybe were unable to expand and open up the paintings to get not only fulsome information and scholarship on each but also to truly experience them in ways only possible with augmented reality. After you place the painting on the floor or on the wall and listen to the introductory audio, tap the gray diamonds on the bottom of the screen to see and hear the works really come alive. Hope that helps! ### 1/5 — It does nothing *2018-07-11* The app does nothing. I downloaded and opened it and it had a small multi squared gray box and it said to scan my room, which I did. So I paid $2.99 so I could look at my room through the camera. There was no “art” nothing. Worthless app. **Developer response:** crennolds- It sounds like you're having trouble placing the painting. When you see the gray checkered box that directs you to scan the floor (or the wall if you're running at least iOS 11.3, with ARKit 1.5 capabilities), you'll see a series of white dots across the floor (or wall). You should then see a transparent version of the painting and the UI animation at the bottom of the screen will then direct you to place the painting. Once you tap the transparent version of the painting (or its easel, if you're placing it on the floor), you'll be all set to explore! Hope this resolves the problem. ### 1/5 — Scammy *2018-07-04, version 1.0.4* Buyers beware, only one painting included & you can’t use your own photos!?!? WTH? Update: Although I do appreciate the developer responding. I still feel we should have the option to use our own images & videos. I’m sure it’s super basic copy paste code as most apps support camera roll. If I had the time I’d learn to make iOS apps myself. You have the space to get up really close to the painting without hoards of people around you- which makes for such a stress free learning environment! Great commentary, I love how parts of the painting are broken down to give more of a story.
