### 2/5 — Missing Basic Features

*2026-07-06, version 1.0.49*

It is inexcusable for a paid app to not have basic sorting and filtering for such a large database. Search alone doesn’t cut it when there are so many variations of similar bottles. I gave up on the blue book because it was so difficult to find prices for the specific bottles I was interested in. It could be a good resource, but it isn’t worth the effort at this point.

### 3/5 — Great Idea, execution issues

*2026-01-11*

I love the idea of being able to log my 121 bottles into one spot. I haven’t been able to open it and update for the last 2 Weeks. Just a circle spinning. Think if your charging people your app would consistently work.

### 4/5 — The Bourbon Collector’s Most Valuable Resource

*2025-11-18, version 1.0.31*

As a collector, the Bourboneur app is my indispensable go-to resource for current bottle valuations. I really appreciate the level of granularity in the database with pricing down to specific proof points for highly allocated products. The app just needs a few stability improvements and more consistent products naming nomenclature to make searches easier.

### 4/5 — Solid app

*2025-05-12, version 1.0.21*

5 star idea with a 4 star execution. Database errors are constant. There are issues with formatting. The portfolio feature is fantastic and the expansive dataset is also very nice. Complaining about the price is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. You can easily save 25$ on one bottle just by being informed in today’s market. I personally have a large enough collection that 25$ is a bargain for how much I use the app. I’m not even sure if there is a free alternative anymore.

### 2/5 — Retired

*2025-04-30*

Bought the subscription but regretting it right now. Tried searching for a common bottle but just said searching and no results. Compared to other apps, I would say this would come in last. I’ll keep using it and will update as I go. So far.. meh

### 1/5 — Loved before they required subscription

*2025-03-09, version 1.0.11*

I am so tired of the greed of these companies, deleting the app now they are forcing $25 charge to use it.

### 4/5 — Added value to my bourbon shopping

*2025-02-18, version 1.0.11*

I like the app! I know some have an issues with the pricing but I feel the pricing is more than fair for the value added to my bourbon shopping experience. Haven’t used much of the other features honestly tho. Every time I use the blue book it seems to get better and better at taking whatever I type in and showing me what I want. It’s nice to see pricing on bottles at a micro level? I.e. seeing all the coy hill barrels is awesome. I guess my only complaints right now were 1) understanding where the data is collected, maybe it’s posted somewhere and I just zoomed right over it, idk. 2) load times are a little long when I first open it on my phone, but i understand there could be many reasons for that and might not even be a you thing. And last, ig the home page could look a little more modern, the blocks just look more like place holders. But maybe that a design choice and has nothing to do with my experience of the app.

### 1/5 — cash grab

*2025-02-03, version 1.0.11*

sadly they went to a straight cash grab and hurt the community. def not worth the price.

### 1/5 — Must pay monthly fee!

*2025-02-02, version 1.0.11*

Figured it was a free app. Instantly deleted. I’m not that big of an alcoholic

### 1/5 — Going from free to paid is wild

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Just make a free tier that shows an ad after 5 searches or something. Gate other features behind the subscription as well or something. This was a free website forever, now you make it paywalled? Come on.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not free

*2026-06-08, version 1.0.49*

Downloaded, promoted to pay $25. Deleted immediately

### 1/5 — Meh

*2026-05-04, version 1.0.42*

It’s great for seeing secondary values but does a poor job on your inventory. Can only see a few characters so can’t distinguish between different batches/proofs. Also, adds the values together if you have more than 1 bottle of a whiskey so it skews the results when sorting high to low.

### 1/5 — Reinstalled

*2026-04-21, version 1.0.40*

I had this app a few months ago dropped it and went to reinstall and resubscribe but the app will not move past login/ subscription screen

### 1/5 — Not Free

*2026-03-21, version 1.0.40*

Not free as the app suggests. Must give credit card and after 7-day trial, you are charged annually. I wouldn’t mind paying for the app if that was displayed up front and one-time. Oh well.

### 1/5 — App Functions Don’t Work

*2025-12-03, version 1.0.40*

Love the idea. But, too many app functions don’t work. The “My Collection Value” is the main thing I am willing to pay for and it hasn’t worked for months. The search function is quirky and hard to use. Good idea, poor execution.

### 1/5 — If you’re going to roll out subscriptions…

*2025-08-13, version 1.0.21*

Make sure it works before you take people’s money. Signed up a month ago for the yearly subscription but once I log in it asks me to subscribe. If i hit it again to subscribe it just spins. Stay clear.

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2025-07-21, version 1.0.21*

Update: Yep , this is app that takes your $$$ and delivers nothing. Stay away. Signed up for yearly but that works for short while before it asks for new subscriptio. STEER CLEAR. ripoff

### 1/5 — Won’t work.

*2025-07-05, version 1.0.21*

I have paid for the app, and it puts me in a loop where I login and then select monthly plan option, but it just sits there and cycles through and through. I have deleted app, cancelled subscription then re purchase. Still no fix

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2025-06-30, version 1.0.21*

Signed up for yearly but that works for short while before it asks for new subscriptio. STEER CLEAR. ripoff

### 1/5 — Bland

*2025-04-05, version 1.0.15*

App isn’t optimized and have the nerve to ask for $3 a month. They also try to get your email before they disclose it’s paid.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Slowly moving all my tracking here

*2026-05-07, version 1.0.48*

Very happy with the continued improvements to the app, close to deleting the remaining ones I have to use this one exclusively

### 5/5 — Impressive app with new updates soon!

*2026-04-02, version 1.0.40*

I love the simplicity and comprehensiveness of this app for tracking my bourbon and rye collection. Intuitive and spot on! Many updates are planned early here in 2026, so I can’t wait to see what’s next!

### 5/5 — Love this app and its content!

*2026-02-02, version 1.0.40*

I boarded the BOURBONEUR train last year and is now my preferred means of travel! Not only have I found the content valuable and engaging as a proud bourbon knowledge junkie, I’ve also enjoyed the tracking tools for both watching the secondary market and valuation of my bottles/collection. Thanks for balancing fact, function and fun!!

### 5/5 — Great Idea, execution issues

*2026-01-24, version 1.0.40*

I love the idea of being able to log my 121 bottles into one spot. I haven’t been able to open it and update for the last 2 Weeks. Just a circle spinning. (Update - I did reach out to the developer on this issue twice. I got a response back the 2nd time and the issue was corrected within a short period of time. I do like the idea of the app and it does have a lot of useful info. Thank you for correcting the issue.)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-10-17, version 1.0.31*

This is excellen app! I use it almost daily to assess secondary and trade values for bottles that I cannot find locally. It’s definitely worth the few bucks I pay a month, because it’s saved me from overpaying a couple times. Great app and would definitely reccomed.

### 5/5 — Apple issue

*2025-09-25, version 1.0.30*

Experienced an issue that at first I blamed the app however ended being Apple issue. Now it’s back working and delivering what I expected. Worth the spend

### 5/5 — Worth Every Penny

*2025-06-10, version 1.0.21*

I can’t believe the entitled freeloaders who trash a great app because it costs <gasp> $25 per year. Pronounce in Dr Evil Voice “TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS”. Bwahahahaha!

It’s accurate - I swap enough bottles to know. A great many bottles have been added. It’s waaaaay faster than searching through auction sites. I’m happy I paid, I got my money’s worth on a single trade.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-03-31, version 1.0.15*

Bourboneur is one of my go-tos for bourbon & whiskey values. The people complaining about the fee have no idea how much time and effort it takes to keep the prices up to date. I think it is well worth the modest price.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-03-30, version 1.0.15*

I love the current update that allows me to rate a bourbon and save my tasting notes. I have anywhere from 2-3 drinks a month and can’t remember what I liked or disliked about a pour. Now I’m able to save my notes and look back to see my thoughts . The Bourbon Blue book has come in handy on several occasions. The wheel of Destiny is a fun way to decide on my pour. When I was looking at this app, I personally checked the 1 star reviews first. Clearly the majority of the 1star reviews are people just wanting FREE access and think a 1 month $3 fee is too much to justify using this app to determine if it’s right for them. It’s not for everyone. I chose the 1 month as a trial, but converted to a yearly subscription after..

### 5/5 — Best app for pricing hands down. No one compares.

*2025-01-28, version 1.0.11*

Ignore all the negative reviews complaining about having to pay a subscription. You get what you pay for. There are lots of “free” sites and apps with pricing info and I have tried them all. They all are inaccurate with so many bottles. Secondary pricing is falling on many bottles almost monthly. BOURBONEUR is the only app that has consistent and up to date pricing. The subscription is not expensive and worth it. You will save the cost of it the first time you look to buy something off secondary. I have used this app to negotiate lower prices on many bottles. If you want real world pricing then get this app.
