## Most critical reviews (7 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poorly designed, lack of functionality

*2018-01-28*

This really is a poor alternative to a good mobile site, with half the functionality. It has a really annoying pop-up every time it opens asking whether it should be updated: Uh, no - I’d like to read yesterday’s news, please! Just stupid. There is also no way to read / add comments. The only good thing is that it’s not stuffed full of ads like the desktop site!!

### 1/5 — Not good enough

*2017-12-06*

Very strange and inconsistent downloading of stories and now cannot post stories to Facebook. App crashes every time

### 1/5 — Doesn't Work

*2016-01-11*

Registered to use the app but it doesn't work... Why do these companies waste everyone's time by creating useless apps?

### 2/5 — Please include the comments section.

*2022-11-14*

Really not worth subscribing unless you they do some development to include the reader comments and the ability to comment in the app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We will take a look and see what options are available. Your suggestion is much appreciated.
Kind Regards

### 2/5 — Little news

*2016-04-13*

There is little news content and most annoying app feature of every time the app is opened a big message appears asking if I want the content update, of course I do otherwise why would I open the app...

### 4/5 — Works for Me

*2024-09-10, version 1.4.2*

This app is great due to its simplicity. News content is always difficult for a local newspaper, but frankly the lack of ability for inane comments to be added to articles is a godsend.

### 5/5 — Great media site works great.

*2022-05-18*

I have found the summary of local news is great with more in depth content in the digital edition of the paper, which is available first thing in the morning. I suspect that the negative comments are because if you expect good stuff for free you will be disappointed. For £4.99 a month I get ad free content and an app that just works.
