What's New in BpExtract

2.0

July 19, 2026

Dynamic Layout Detection • Automatic column detection — Replaced the fixed-layout with a dynamic layout detection engine. The app now analyses each PDF page's text density to find the inter-column gutter, adapting automatically to both new and old-style Aktiia reports. • Improved right-column scanning Scanning Accuracy Improvements • Image preprocessing pipeline improvements • High DPI rendering — Column regions are now be rendered at 3x resolution for better OCR accuracy • Deduplication logic improvements Edit Blood Pressure Readings • In-app editing — Tap any individual reading to edit its systolic, diastolic, and heart rate values. Changes are committed to SwiftData and synced to HealthKit automatically. • Aggregate recalculation — Monthly mean, min, and max are recalculated when a reading is edited. Outlier Detection & Review • Outlier review sheet — Readings flagged as statistical outliers are now presented for review. Users can restore or discard individual readings, or restore/discard all at once. • Auto-show after scan — The outlier report automatically appears after a scan when new outliers are detected (toggleable in Settings). • Auto-clean on report delete — Rejected readings are automatically removed when their associated report is deleted. New Debug Mode (for support purposes) • Debug OCR view — Accessible via Settings → Debug → Enable Debug Mode. Shows the full OCR pipeline: detected text observations with confidence colour-coding, column boundary overlays, preprocessing comparison, and per-column scan results. Designed for troubleshooting scanning issues. • Column boundary visualisation — Cyan rectangles show where the dynamic layout detector placed column boundaries, with zoom and pan support. UI Improvements • Avg/Min/Max display — Fixed font scaling and wrapping issues in the aggregate display on the report list. Blood pressure and heart rate now use a monospaced font for consistent alignment. • Portrait/landscape rotation fix — Resolved a crash when rotating from landscape to portrait in the readings view. • Settings reset — Added a "Reset to defaults" button in Settings.

Needs a ‘reset settings to default’ button…

A good way to work around Hilo deliberately limiting its sync capability to Apple Health.
This app does need a reset setting feature. I’ve messed around with them & I can’t remember what they were to put them back again.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review, yes we will update to add a reset feature in the next version.
