## Newest reviews (3 of 23)

### 3/5 — Seems to be a great app, but…

*2015-04-29, version 1.1*

When I go to compile, it just gives me a JavaScript specific error, then if I compile a c/cpp program, it gives me the same error as the JavaScript one! Weird.
But overall it has a clean UI and its all free!

### 3/5 — Kind of nice

*2015-02-22, version 1.0*

This app is very cool, because it has JavaScript and C++, but I'm having trouble making an input (making the user type anything). I might be just making mistakes in my code...so can you plz fix that? Still, I like this app. It's really great for programming. 😉

### 3/5 — Serious potential.

*2015-02-19, version 1.0*

Really cool idea. However, C++ doesn't seem to be actually supported. The compiler doesn't recognized the iostream library nor namespace std.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does nothing

*2018-10-04, version 3.0.5*

Open the app... check!
Click “+” to create a new file... check!
Freeze after hitting the save icon... check!

Does literally nothing afterwards.

Edit: this is a joke, right? Take a look at the app support site. Notice anything strange? Thought so.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for your feedback and I apologize for the inconvenience. I have been working hard to make the compiler more reliable and I hope you choose to give my app another shot :)

P.S the app is not a joke I was just blowing it and hopefully I won’t blow it this time.

### 1/5 — DOESN'T SUPPORT INPUT!

*2017-02-17, version 2.0*

In Ruby, when I assign gets to a variable, it is nil. It completely doesn't recognize gets.chomp.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2016-10-26, version 2.0*

Compiler doesn't work properly.

### 2/5 — Was decent when it worked

*2017-07-02, version 2.0*

It was working okay, but it just stopped functioning. After saving three project files, the program deleted the contents of two project files. Then, it crashed, and would not run.

### 3/5 — Can’t open other files?

*2019-07-21*

Can’t I open files from external sources? .java files?

### 3/5 — Can't run

*2016-09-03, version 2.0*

Activating the keyboard makes the navigation bar disappear, which mean that I can't save or run the program that I wrote.

### 3/5 — Input in C++ (iostream)

*2016-02-14, version 2.0*

Thank you for such a clean, streamlined app. Wonderful job! However, in C++ the compiler doesn't recognise the std library and doesn't allow any input.... This is a problem that requires immediate attention. Please look into it

### 3/5 — Okay

*2016-02-13*

The CIN is not working, or something. I can not take data from user.
I can not see what I am typing after line 16.
In another words, you can't move the screen down.

iPad 1 ?

### 3/5 — Input Isues and Crashes

*2015-08-27, version 1.1*

The app closes after I try to compile a code that has user input

### 3/5 — Small improvements

*2015-05-31*

You cant do more than one page of code? I used it to jot down coding notes but then noticed i couldn't scroll down after one page of code to see what more i had written, please fix

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — By far the best!

*2016-06-08, version 2.0*

Was looking for an app to code in Ruby and what I found was less then stellar. Until I accidentally ran across this. Very clean and actually works. Please continue to update this!

### 5/5 — Won't compile

*2015-12-12*

I did I bit of PHP and when I tried the working out the length of a list.

### 5/5 — Great

*2015-11-16, version 2.0*

The app is great! For a free app there are NO adds😄 and writing code is easy with the toolbar. Although it is missing 2 main programming languages, JavaScript and C# (pronounced C-Sharp). Add these and it's the best programming app on the App Store!

### 5/5 — Great but need improve

*2015-11-07, version 2.0*

Tks for great app and but the input quit unfriendly, hard to write code.
I love the idea of its simple, simple the best.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2015-02-27, version 1.1*

Simple clean design. I like it!

### 5/5 — Solid app

*2015-02-18, version 1.0*

This app is great for on the go coding. Also unlike other apps this app does NOT charge you to compile! GREAT APP!

### 4/5 — Definitely has potential.

*2016-09-19*

Keep working on this, I think it has a good chance of being a great app, just keep adding more features.

### 4/5 — Simple & Sweet

*2016-06-16, version 2.0*

Brace is the perfect casual editor. I wanted something I could use to test out algorithms I was thinking through while away from my dev machine, and it works perfect for that. I love that it isn't trying to be a full-fledged IDE on an iOS device.

Also, it is very basic, but looks beautiful. It only has room to get more beautiful.

There is no way to enter stdin data currently, so if necessary you will have to work around that (not hard). Wasn't an issue for me.

FTP/Dropbox/etc support would obviously be useful. As would the ability to export (via email, perhaps) your code.

SSH support would be sweet (whether that looks like an actual client, or simply a means to run your code on your own server rather than via whatever service is currently being used).

Great little tool to have.

### 4/5 — Great potential, but sort out the bugs.

*2016-01-02, version 2.0*

Very easy to use, minimalist and pleasant design. Would be a great companion if only certain bugs did not destroy the experience.

1. In c++ in line comments like // confuse the compiler and throw fatal errors??? Not sure why this would happen.

2. When editing c++ on ipad the compile button dissapears after about 50 lines.

### 4/5 — Looks Promising

*2015-04-17*

Great app so far! Looking forward to when code suggestions (and maybe shortcuts?) are added. A way to import and export code projects from Dropbox, OneDrive, emails, etc. would also be useful to be able to work on a PC-based project on the go. And best of all, this app is FREE!
