## What is Brackt?

Merge RAW brackets into professional HDR images, entirely on your iPhone. No desktop, no cloud, no uploads.

3 free merges included. No sign-up needed.

Brackt is the only iPhone and iPad app built exclusively for bracketed RAW to HDR merging. Import your exposure brackets, merge in seconds, and export professional HDR with full dynamic range. No cloud, no account, no cables.

Key Features
• HDR Merge: Combine 2-7 bracketed exposures into one high dynamic range image
• Two Merge Modes: Standard fusion is fast and forgiving. Great for handheld brackets and tricky scenes. Radiometric mode reconstructs true scene radiance for superior pixel-level detail on precise, well-balanced brackets.
• 10 Tone Mapping Algorithms: Reinhard, ACES Filmic, Hable Filmic, Drago, Durand, Ward Local Adaptation, Photographic, Exposure, Exponential, and HLG. Switch styles on the result screen without re-merging. Thumbnails preview each look in real time.
• Advanced Deghosting: 4 sensitivity levels (None, Low, Medium, High) for clean results even with moving subjects, flowing water, or wind-blown foliage
• Auto Alignment: Corrects camera movement between exposures. Works with handheld brackets and imperfect tripod shots.
• Lens Correction: Automatically corrects lens distortion as your RAW frames are decoded, so straight lines stay straight across the merge.
• In-App Photo Editor: Adjust tone, color, and clarity. Apply presets. All without leaving Brackt.
• Export Manager: Choose format (HEIC, 16-bit TIFF, JPEG, PNG), resize, and add borders before saving.
• Full RAW Support: DNG, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF and large JPEGs. Extensive camera brand coverage including DJI Mavic and other drone RAW files.
• 16-bit TIFF Export: Take your HDR straight into Lightroom, Capture One, or Photoshop
• HEIC Export: Real HDR on Apple displays using the ST.2084 PQ transfer curve
• Share Extension: Send brackets to Brackt directly from the Photos app or Files app
• 100% On Device: Private, fast, and works everywhere. No internet needed.
• 30 Languages: Brackt follows your device language automatically, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, and many more.

Built for Photographers Who Shoot with Purpose
Exposure bracketing lets you capture scenes the way your eye sees them. Brackt turns those brackets into a perfectly merged HDR image, right from your iPhone.

From golden-hour landscapes to dramatic architecture to night cityscapes, Brackt gives you the dynamic range control you need, right where you shoot.

No External Services. No Hidden Costs.
Unlike apps that send your photos to remote servers for processing, Brackt runs its entire merge engine on your device. No images leave your phone. No cloud compute costs baked into the price. Works at full speed in the field, on a plane, or anywhere with no signal at all.

Perfect For
• Landscape Photography: Preserve sky detail, clouds, and shadow texture in a single image
• Architecture: Balance bright windows with dark interiors and mixed lighting
• Travel & Cityscapes: Capture night scenes and golden hour with full tonal range
• RAW Workflows: Export 16-bit TIFF files directly to Lightroom, Capture One, or Photoshop
• Bracketed Merging: Precise alignment and intelligent fusion across all exposures

Start with 3 free HDR merges. No sign-up needed. Upgrade to Brackt Pro for unlimited merges, 16-bit TIFF export, and all RAW format support.

### 1/5 — Cartoonishly failed

*2026-07-16*

Ghosting and failed overlay make the finished file completely useless. Tried the three samples and all three looked like a bad AI filter of a triple exposed image.

### 1/5 — Sub optimal and bad performer.

*2026-07-01*

On iPhone 16 the app can accommodate only 3 raw files. Beyond 3 raw files the app crashes. The fused output looks very ‘processed’ with unnatural colours. Highlights handling is not satisfactory with huge areas blown out. Overall a regrettable purchase (sadly bought the lifetime licence)

### 2/5 — So Much Potential! Stopped Working After Purchasing

*2026-03-21*

I found Brackt last week and was immediately impressed. The first couple of images I created during the free trial were genuinely great—full resolution, sharp, and visually impressive. It actually surprised me how good the results were right out of the gate.

Because of that, I didn’t hesitate to purchase the lifetime license for $90. That’s not exactly impulse-buy territory for most apps, but the early results made it feel justified.

Unfortunately, everything fell apart after upgrading.

Once I unlocked the full version, the app started exporting images at a very low resolution (around 960x360), making them basically unusable compared to the high-quality outputs I got during the trial. That alone completely undermines the value of the app. It also completely fails to import RAW files, which is a pretty major limitation for anyone even remotely serious about photo editing.

On top of that, there’s a noticeable licensing glitch where the app briefly thinks I’m still on the trial every time I open it before correcting itself. Not a dealbreaker on its own, but it doesn’t inspire confidence.

I reached out to the developer with a detailed email explaining the issue and didn’t receive any response after a full week. That’s the part that stings the most. Bugs happen, especially with newer apps, but silence after a paid purchase is hard to overlook.

This app clearly has a lot of potential. The results I saw during the trial prove that. But right now, the post-purchase experience feels broken, and the low-resolution exports and lack of RAW support make it unusable in its current state.

I really hope the developer addresses these issues soon, because I’d genuinely like to keep using it. As it stands, though, it’s hard to recommend until the core functionality is fixed and support improves.

### 1/5 — Not usable with Canon camera

*2025-10-14*

Probably the only solution for RAW exposure bracketing on iOS. I was expecting high, yet the result is basically not usable. Combining multiple CR3 RAW photos does not preserve bright areas at all, even with quality priority selected. Not sure if those underexposed ones were indeed processed. Moreover, the "bracketing" also creates mysterious purple hues around all items captured in my photo. On the other hand, combining multiple Canon JPGs will simply crash the app again and again. Wish I could have a refund.

**Developer response:** Sorry to see you go — version 1.2.0 resolves the Canon and crash bugs you mentioned.
Feedback like yours helped us move fast, so we genuinely appreciate the time you spent testing the app.

### 4/5 — Finally mobile HDR bracketing! Sort of.

*2025-09-24*

So this app is about as close to a merge-to-HDR solution for exposure bracketing as I've seen anything come so far, at least as far as iOS apps are concerned.

However it's a little disappointing that it won't detect RAW format images in the Photo Library and will save as JPG. You have to move them to the Files app for it to recognize a DNG and merge to a TIFF.

It should allow you to choose between JPG or DNG (if available) for images in the Photo Library, as well as allow you to choose your output file format. If the dev can add those two things, easy 5 star.

I'll be sure to update my review if that change is made.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your detailed review and suggestions! We’re thrilled you’re finding the app useful for HDR bracketing. You’re absolutely right about RAW/DNG support with Photo Library and output format options—we agree those are must-have features.
We’ll be working on fixing that immediately so you can import directly from the Photo Library and choose your preferred file format. Your feedback really helps us improve quickly. Hopefully we’ll earn that 5⭐ from you very soon!
