App does not work at all. ### 1/5 — Bradley smoker app *2021-02-07, version 2.1.1* I wish I didn’t have to select a star. This app is a piece of Sh*t. Don’t waste your money on this smoker buy the digital one instead. I’m surprised Bradley would drop to this level ### 1/5 — Useless! *2021-01-12* This app has potential but is absolutely useless! It connects the first time and all looks good, then it loses connection, even when you’re within about a metre of the smoker. Once it loses the connection it will not reconnect even when standing next to the smoker. We bought the smart smoker as thought the app would be really useful, however it is really useless! ### 1/5 — APP DOES NOT WORK *2020-12-22, version 2.1.1* The ISMOKE App does not work with ISO 14. I purchased this smoker for this reason. Not very happy with Bradley right now due to this and the fact the Bradley had to send me a new motor due to the fact it was defective the day I received it. James ### 1/5 — Buggy interface *2020-04-22, version 2.1.1* Statistics wouldn’t load for today’s smoke. Left the house and it eventually showed up. Statistics window has 50deg C increments. Useless for any monitoring. Can zoom on time but not temp. Not obvious you can scroll between smokes on statistics window. Could at least have a date? Recipes doesn’t load. No custom recipe sequences for my smoker, don’t show menu item! No feedback when trying to save stats. Stats don’t save!! Doesn’t save smoker selection between loads. Can’t progress pucks. Couldn’t preheat device or smoking element until this was done via LCD screen on iSmoker! Have to enter pin to pair if power disconnected. Not so much of any issue! Doesn’t remember temperature (C/F) setting. ### 1/5 — Piece of Shit *2020-04-16, version 2.1.1* One of the worst designed Apps I’ve ever seen. Terrible control and layout. Not sure how much they spent on developing this, but anything more than $20 was a huge waste. Whoever designed it obviously never used it to smoke anything. Tried to smoke a turkey and had to finish in the oven because once a message pops up with a warning it doesn’t resume unless you power cycle. I paid extra money to buy a smoker which could be controlled by my iPhone. The old version even though it crashed still allowed me to control the smoker this version is just a read only of the panel in front of the smoker. Now the new app doesn’t work at all. You are going backwards Bradley! ### 1/5 — Poor *2019-04-08, version 2.0* I used to have this app a long time ago, I deleted it because they did an update on it, and it quit working. I recently tried this new app. So far I can’t get into any of the options, I open the app, it says to select your smoker, but that is all you can do. This app seems to have some issues. I cannot get past the introductory screen ### 1/5 — Control the smoker?? *2019-01-25, version 2.0* The app doesn’t work like it’s supposed to. I cannot change time, temperature, or really do anything but see the status of the smoker. Maybe it’s an iOS update issue, but the app doesn’t work like the marketing material says it should. ### 1/5 — The application is really poor *2018-12-23, version 2.0* The app is poorly written, features don’t Work, Bluetooth fails to the point of useless, needing to shutdown whole oven and restart, not optimised for screens. Mostly unusable. So disappointing. Pretty disappointing. Haven’t unboxed my smoker. Considering returning it if this is a glimpse into the future. Don’t release an app with your product if it doesn’t even function. Seemingly Bradley smokers offers this as an attractive feature for marketing purposes because, for the most part, customers would download this app AFTER purchasing the smoker. Ya got me!!! ### 1/5 — Needs update *2021-08-15, version 2.1.1* App worked perfectly up to this year, my iPhone says it’s connected but the app never gets to the screen to input the code to pair with the smoker. Clumsy and awkward to use. I can spit further than the bluetooth range. I keep having to reset everything when I want to do something simple like adjust the cook temp or smoke time. If you had the misfortune to buy a Bradley you’re stuck with this third rate app. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2021-06-06, version 2.1.1* I can see the oven temp and the set temp but that’s it. I can’t change it on the app. All the meat temp indicator does is lets you put in your target temp. That’s it. Doesn’t show what the actual meat temp is. I don’t get it. I’ve tried everything. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Not bad, tricky to use *2020-09-05, version 2.1.1* I saw many complain that they can't use the app to control the device. This is not true for timing and temperature. There is aspects you can control. The trick is to switch on the box and ensure nothing is on. Then you can use the app. Otherwise the functions will be grayed out. ### 4/5 — Used correctly, it works fine *2018-12-12, version 2.0* You need to read the on screen instructions. Manually set the unit first, then you can make adjustments through the app. ### 3/5 — This app needs work bad! *2019-12-29, version 2.1.1* First off the smoker does function great, and does great smoked items. Now your app to be able to control your smart smoker is mediocre at best. All I can do it monitor the smoker temp and adjust the thermometers cooked temps. Your charts never keep a steady flow for the days smoking, your stop button so you can adjust the smoke time and heat temps and times doesn’t work so with that you can’t adjust either temp or times on either because you can’t stop it from the app. For a $700+ smoker I was expecting a smooth running app to make smoking that much easier, I’m regretting spending the money on your smart smoker for the fact I could have bought a Bradley digital smoker for 200 less without the blue tooth. Please fix your app. ### 3/5 — Version 2,1 seems more stable *2019-07-06, version 2.1* On the 5ths of July they rolled an update version 2.1 that seems more stable than the 2.0. At lest for the time I’ve tried it, it didn’t crash a single time. Time will tell if this version I really better but so far so good. ### 2/5 — Love the smoker, hate the app *2022-12-24, version 2.1.1* You could avoid paying extra for the “smart” smoker because the app is ridiculous. I do wish they would make a new version of his app. It keeps crashing, is a bit complicated to use, and is very temperamental. ### 2/5 — Needs major improvement *2019-09-08, version 2.1.1* So apparently the recent update fixes the bugs, but it has not. App keeps going into demo mode and can’t find the device - except when you first bring power online to the smoker. It works for the first 10 minutes but then drops signal and you can only reconnect when you turn the smoker off and back on again. No defined layout on the touchscreen. Very hard to set time. Need the app to get better accuracy- but of course the app only works for a short time.
