I teach General Psychology. BSP is a great source of information for my class, especially current information that is not in the text. Shows are always well planned, well paced and entertaining.

### 5/5 — Brain science podcast

*2018-11-02, version 2.4.1*

I have been listening to Brain science podcast for perhaps five years and recommend it to anyone. I enjoy hearing the various viewpoints presented and discussion of recent books who’s authors are interviewed. I’ve told many people about this podcast is being among my favorite.

I would like to see Dr. Mark Hyman interviewed and other notable authors who practiced functional medicine and functional psychiatry. Thank you Ginger for continuing to work hard at presenting interesting content.

### 5/5 — Great podcast!

I am so grateful that Dr. Campbell has created this podcast and app. I have loved learning from the guests and book reviews. The content is truly inspiring and the app itself is very well organized. I became a premium member because I want the show to continue and I can't stop listening to past episodes!

Great interviews with great neuroscientists! A great way to find your next book and to get the skinny on books you might pass by.

### 5/5 — For anyone who got the brains indeed

*2016-01-16, version 2.0.28*

Fantastic content! Topics are as interesting as it can get, discussions - thoughtful. Oftentimes they cover not only topics of science, but problems affecting society, like big pharma and its effects on treatment strategies...

### 5/5 — GREAT SERIES

Many of the most brilliant brain scientists of our time explain complex theories and findings in layman terms--thanks to Ginger for asking the right questions.

### 5/5 — Fascinating!

Dr. Campbell is an outstanding host of this podcast. I find the information interesting but easy to understand as a lay person. Thank you for opening my mind to my brain!

### 5/5 — For Anyone with a Brain

*2015-09-18, version 2.0.26*

This app is a great way to listen to a great podcast, bookmark favorite episodes for repeat listening, and get additional content related to the show. I am so grateful to Dr. Campbell for providing this excellent educational resource for free. Each episode covers a specific topic via interview with a scientist/author or an overview by Dr. Campbell. Fast moving and sometimes technical, I find in able to understand all of the information by repeat listening (if I'm interested in the topic), which is made easier by the app favorite feature.

### 5/5 — My all time favorite podcast

*2015-07-18, version 2.0.18*

This podcast is hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen/heard. That includes TV, radio as well as podcasts and even The Great Courses. It is very accessible, fascinating, has a wide range of topics (within brain science), and is infectious. Ginger Campbell's work is generous and outstanding. I have learned so much from being a regular listener (for at least 4 years, likely longer). If you like programs like TED, TTBOOK, or RadioLab, you will enjoy BSP. There are episodes like the one on Pain or Reading that I have listened to many, many times. Top notch, worth a subscription.

### 5/5 — Extremely high quality podcast

*2015-05-07, version 2.0.18*

I'm a clinical psychologist with experience in neuropsychology. I have learned a great deal from the interviews on this show, and it has greatly expanded my understanding of the mind, the way the brain functions, and the nature of the scientific process. I come away from each episode wanting to learn more, read more, study more. Thank you Dr. Campbell for all the great work that you do. I tell everyone I meet about your show.

### 5/5 — Never Disappointing — Still listening 7 years later!

*2015-04-19, version 2.0.10*

I’ve been listening to the Brain Science Podcast since 2008. I was a student of neuropsychology in the 80’s, but got involved in clinical practice… and the years passed quickly. Finding this podcast has kept me informed about the unfolding, and always exciting, field of neuroscience. I am grateful to Dr. Campbell for being willing to commit herself to this work. Each episode is extremely informative - the issues, the facts, etc., are always more important that the personalities involved, but Dr. Campbell does have a knack for bringing out the best in her interviewees. What is perhaps most valuable about each episode, is that I am not required to “get more information” in order to feel that I’ve really learned something important. Her review of books, her interviews, etc., really nail the most critical information for each source. However, I am often inspired to do some investigating on my own after listening.

### 5/5 — BSP Fan Showing Support

*2015-03-28, version 2.0.10*

I am a pharmacist and EMT by profession. I have many Medical Podcasts and Apps on my iPod Touch, now iPhoneGS and by far my favorite podcast is the Brain Science Podcast.
So have downloaded this application to show support and feed my craving for more information from Brain Science Podcast, by far one of the best overall podcasts out there by quality of information and presentation.
This application works great so far.
In my job I work closely with nurses and doctors also. At one of our meetings during dinner I sat next to one of our physicain sponsors for our project who is a neurologist.
It was fun to ask him about what he thought about current knowledge on brain neuroplasticity and see his look on his face before we had our discussion.

### 5/5 — Resplendent!

*2015-03-23, version 2.0.10*

This app is excellent! Beyond the app, the content is beyond compare. As a new to practice physician assistant working in primary care, I feel like I am learning so much beyond anything that school could offer in regards to neurobiology and especially neuralplasticity. I look forward to continued learning and integration into my own practice.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Great content, frustrating payment.

*2020-02-06, version 2.4.1*

Love the content, annoyed that you can’t subscribe or buy individual episodes within the app. All those options direct you to web sites to enter credit card details to subscribe or download individual premium MP3’s. What’s the point of the app? It would be better if normal in app purchases were available.

### 3/5 — A listener

*2010-02-13, version 0*

Love the show. I wish the app easily downloaded transcripts for reading offline. Also would like to read PDFs horizontally.

### 4/5 — 5-star Content, 4-star Interface

*2017-03-21, version 2.1.15*

This podcast provides informative interviews from researchers, clinicians, philosophers, and other experts who explore the myriad aspects of the brain and mind. The host presents her own insightful comments to flesh out or expand ideas addressed within each program.

My issue with the interface occurs when I attempt to rewind or zoom in on a particular timestamp (min:sec) of the circular progress bar. A wider touch-zone would allow my fat fingers to change the timeline position without unintentionally toggling the pause/play button two to four times instead.

Still, the interface is such a minor complaint when compared to the value of the programmed material.

I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I do.

### 4/5 — Continuous playback

*2013-09-13, version 1.18.7*

Right now when you do continuous playback it plays episodes in the order from recent to old.
I think it's better when it is from old to recent. I am a new listener and I want to Start from the first episode onward. Or there should be an option which helps u choose the order.

### 4/5 — Good App for Great Podcasts

*2010-08-21, version 0*

The Brain Science Podcasts are wonderful, and this app makes them easy to browse and listen to. It also provides easy access to the transcripts, so you can really dig in or check out other sources they mention. Dr. Campbell's guests are amazing, and so much new stuff is happening in neuroscience and Psychology!

The App should enable rotation for better episode browsing, and an iPad version would be great -- like the website.

### 4/5 — Excellent podcast... App needs bookmark function

*2010-07-25, version 0*

The Brain Science Podcast is a very high quality science podcast and having it's own iPhone app really helps, plus, it's a good way to support Dr. Campbell for her great work. The software version update for the app did improve things. However, one key element is missing: the ability to bookmark. With each episode about an hour long, interruptions are inevitable. Currently, the only option is where the app asks to resume where the software closed. However, this does not work all the time, and several times will just go back to the beginning. Having an option for bookmarks is dearly needed, with the option to have multiple bookmarks across different episodes. (The implementation of podcast bookmarks is done very well, for e.g. in the iPhone app: Stitcher Radio). The content for the Brain Science podcast is excellent and highly recommended, using this app as a portal to get to their webpage which has a wealth of information including book references.

### 5/5 — Great Podcast…and great APP!

*2022-09-24, version 2.4.1*

A means to back up 30-60 seconds (or a slider bar) would help those who want to re-hear a short clip again. Great work on the iPhone APP!

### 5/5 — Great podcasts

*2022-09-01, version 2.4.1*

As neurologist I find her podcast incredibly actual and fascinating, Giving it a more reachable level for most. Great invited speakers and more importantly I was able to discover scientist that otherwise I would have not and I buy sometimes some of their books.

👏🏻

### 5/5 — Ginger Campbell is an American Treasure!

*2022-02-24, version 2.4.1*

I have learned so much from her podcasts. I love how genuinely curious she is and how she gives her guests time to fully explore their ideas. But she also has the commendable humility to ask for clarification when she senses something may not be clear to her listeners. So many moments of blehs have been broken by ideas that have been inspired by this podcast. I also love how she always asks her guests for advice for people interested in neuroscience. Honestly, I just can’t say enough good things about Dr Campbell’s work. Definitely worth all the listens!

### 5/5 — Brain science podcast

*2021-12-24, version 2.4.1*

Thoroughly enjoy listening to the podcasts, great selection of experts, great selection of topics, great introductions to each of the podcasts and after each of the podcasts a nice succinct summary. The podcasts are filled with information in various forms-including theories and projections often provided with a summary of the supporting experimental bases. Though I have had only one neurology course over 40 years ago as an undergrad, I find these podcasts engrossing.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A must for 21st C citizens!

*2021-09-11, version 2.4.1*

Dr. Campbell has interviews some of the greatest minds trying to understand our brains and our humanity! She builds her interviews in a carefully organized crescendo so scientists and authors bring out illuminating answers.

Throughout the years, she has shared findings, trends , and challenges of neuroscience that bring insight to our thinking, doing,, and feeling. It’s knowledge everyone should have!

I am a big fan and supporter, I subscribe to be able to access episodes and go back to listen again and make connections.

Unlike many a podcast, her content is enduring: it will continue to be relevant if not in its accuracy, at the very least as a way to see the scientific method in action: how scientists make observations, generate hypotheses, test them and come up with theories, adjust them, discard them, and start anew. Truly a gem of the podcasting world!

### 5/5 — Fascinating, easy to understand and informative

*2021-09-11, version 2.4.1*

Well written, well spoken, interesting and informative. I look forward to listening on my daily walks. I enjoy the various interviews with neuroscientists, philosophers and psychologists. I feel that this creates a very non-biased view of the information and the very latest advances advances in the field. I especially enjoy the overview and summaries at the end. Ginger presents relatively complex topics in a manner that is easy for me to understand - nice job!

### 5/5 — Great resource in many facets of brain science.

*2021-07-13, version 2.4.1*

I found Dr. Campbell’s Brain Science podcast after she was a guest on This Week in Virology.

A large variety of topics are covered, each interview followed with a brief insightful summary at the end.

Premium content is also available which can be both a time saver as well as a way to support the creation of future content and to say thanks for all the hard work that has already gone into producing a lot of interesting interviews.

### 5/5 — Brainscience Podcast

*2021-02-06, version 2.4.1*

I stumbled on Dr. Ginger Campbell’s podcast about a month ago and am now enjoying an episode ( or two) per day via a premium subscription.
As a layperson interested in valid information on discoveries in neuroscience , I am thrilled with the content and delivery of the podcasts. It is stimulating to listen to intelligent interviews even when ( especially when) the subject matter is slightly ( or very ) over my head. Ginger has a calm, direct and personable way of communicating that allows the listener to green the understanding of the content. At the end of every interview she reviews the main points and emphasizes clarity in areas that could be confusing.
I’m a fan. I’m learning about my own brain from an empirically sound source.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2020-05-10, version 2.4.1*

Interesting, informative, clear, accessible. Dr. Campbell is able to make a complicated and controversial subject clear.

### 5/5 — Great show. Great app

*2019-08-26, version 2.4.1*

Dr. Campbell is a joy to listen to. Her steady delivery and clear explanation decode the mysteries of the brain for the rest of us. Also, her guests/interviews are so deeply educated on their fields that income away feeling smarter with each episode.
