### 4/5 — ios 17 not compatible

*2023-11-07, version 3.0*

ios 17 on my iphone claims brain tutor is not compatible.

### 4/5 — Helpful and educational

*2020-03-03, version 2.1*

Thank you for this app, it allowed me to do complicated assignments by directly going inside the brain and orient myself, follow the fibres, memorise.. Lately my info doesn’t seem to work anymore, the screen is empty-can you fix it?

### 4/5 — Great apps but some errors

*2013-03-17, version 0*

This app is really great tool to study brain. But looks to me some BA areas are indicated incorrectly in MRI e.g. BA38.

### 5/5 — Excellent cortical anatomy

*2012-03-19, version 0*

Well obviously, this app leaves out a fair amount of gross neuroanatomy--but several other apps have it and the gross anatomy is honestly the easiest thing you encounter in neuro course; beyond that the difficulty and detail ramps up and your teachers (points to self) consipre to fail you (if you dont learn the material of course).

I also notices the people givig this app 2-1 stars come off as dithering idiots when I read their reviews. Look a few down from this one: someone claims it deserves 1 star b/c it doesn't include the diencephalon! Woop de doo. It's an easy structure. Moreover he or she then fails epically via claiming the dienchephalon contains the cerebellum...LOL....wow, just wow. That's so assinine it makes my head spin--the cerebellum juts out from the brain's stalk at the level of the pons, i.e., the metencephalon. Had that showed up in my quiz stack, it would receive a fat red X. Yes it's bad BUT there are plenty of apps that will show you it. Because the incompleteness, I subtract 1 star.

TL;DR Good MRI view and cortical anatomy. Not much else though.

### 3/5 — Great! Could use updates!

*2012-02-04, version 0*

This is a great concept that works so well, it could be improved by adding more areas that are part of first year neuroscience such as the cerebellum, hippocampus, etc. looking forward to future updates!!!

### 5/5 — I love it!!

*2011-12-27, version 0*

I love this app! It gives good info about the brain and all ots parts with an awesome 3D graphic of the brain! I use it for reasurch and art as well!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2011-08-06, version 0*

Helped me get through my neuroanatomy course! It was great to be able to study at any place at any time without having to pull out my lab notes!

### 4/5 — great

*2011-06-16, version 0*

but as usual too small text

*2011-06-15, version 0*

### 4/5 — Would love it more if there were a search function

*2011-04-26, version 0*

Similar to the iPod app where you can pull down to reveal a search bar.

### 4/5 — Awesome app!!!

*2011-03-14, version 0*

Tap the axial slice view and it'll show you slices from the bottom up. Awesome app!!!

### 4/5 — anatomic position!

*2011-03-10, version 0*

The for the axial slices, the exposed brain should be shown from the bottom and not the top as to give you true anatomic position as one would see on an actual MRI or CT.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2011-02-12, version 0*

This is very helpful!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bait and switch

*2021-09-08, version 2.1*

I had paid for Brain Tutor - now it appears that they aren’t supporting it for the new iOS and rolled Brain Tutor 3D and want to charge me for the functionality I already paid for.

### 1/5 — Where the hell is the diencephalon?

*2012-01-31, version 0*

I thought this app could help me review for an anatomy test but it is missing the diencephalon, which includes the hypothalamus, cerebellum, medulla oblongata and other very important parts of the brain. Also it is only anatomy and includes no functions.

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2011-10-12, version 0*

I launched this app and after two seconds of using it, deleted it. The other 3D brain app is so much better!! Don't bother with this one, get the other one instead.

### 1/5 — No real usable information

*2011-08-28, version 0*

It's a free app with very little basic usable information. I deleted it.

### 1/5 — This app stinks

*2010-04-21, version 0*

It only shows you picture stupid even though it's free don't get it.

### 1/5 — What?=(

*2009-06-22, version 0*

To confusing

### 2/5 — Ücretli bölgeler

*2024-11-17, version 3.0*

### 2/5 — .

*2021-03-13, version 2.1*

Beyin ortalanmamış her açıdan göremiyorum

### 2/5 — what?!

*2014-01-21, version 0*

this app looks good but it is actually rubbish there is hardly any decent info

### 2/5 — There is a better way!

*2009-10-20, version 0*

Question: Why rely on MRI images, which have a pretty awful resolution?

Answer: Because they are cheap (basically free for anyone with any access to a data bank) and easy to put together.

There is a similar app called ‘3D brain’ that I think is far superior. It is not based on MRI images, and is therefore much easier to navigate.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Totally awesome. How about one for dogs, dolphins, and awesome.

*2024-02-11, version 3.0*

As we’re not the only animal with intellectual brains and lifestyles worth exploring. But hats off!!!

### 5/5 — I love this app and a suggestion

*2024-01-26, version 3.0*

I really love this app. It’s so useful for studying. Using an actual scan is insane! So cool!!!

I use it to make study cards to help remember regions in the brain.
My only suggestion is a black and white highlight option. Because when I’m studying my cards I want to remember the shapes and locations of areas. But instead I often associate their colours instead.

But I highly recommend this app. I’ve bought all the DLC and it’s totally worth it!
Thank you for making a resource like this available.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2023-04-02, version 3.0*

This app is a brilliant tool for getting to grips with all the different brain structures, and the new update gives it some nice added functionality!

### 5/5 — New update makes it so much more worth it

*2023-03-15, version 3.0*

Although it could have more information available (like the brainstem, for example), as it is now, it is the best app for studying the anatomy of the brain and the 3D structures inside.
The new update lets you have much more control over the MRI images, which links both 3D reasoning and 2D representations much better.
That being said, I would love to see more structures and details.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2021-05-29, version 2.1*

Beautiful & memorable images. Really useful for understanding brain connectivity and functioning.

### 5/5 — Program güzeldir

*2019-02-20, version 2.1*

*2018-01-28, version 2.1*

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2017-06-24, version 2.1*

$3 for the add-ons is well worth it, and provides lots of extra hi-res detail.

### 5/5 — Thanks

*2014-01-18, version 0*

Thank you

*2012-08-11, version 0*
