Every character had lore behind them. The old game had a unique charm from the tactical turn-based battles to the sense of adventure that kept players coming back. This new version feels completely different, almost like a spin-off rather than a true continuation. The summoning system makes it extremely difficult to even get the starter characters, and overall, the gameplay feels unbalanced and less rewarding. I genuinely hope the team considers bringing back the original Brave Frontier experience the one that focused on strategy, storytelling, and the excitement of exploration. That’s the game fans fell in love with. Please consider reviving or remastering the original Brave Frontier. I downloaded it. Got to play for literally one day, the next days said it was concluded. I LOVED the OG BF and want it to come back. Onto the review proper it’s a very PTW ‘TCG’ where cards can get upgraded for better stats. Obviously this means the fatter whale has the better chances of winning all the time with a rate in the .05% for the legendary super upgrade that it’s downright amusingly bad. Not only has Gumi killed NEARLY all their IPS which filled a specific niche, they killed classic brave frontier only to parade its dead corpse as a NFT gacha that has revived basically no real expansions at all. It does need a little fixing in terms of play style and animation, but if you’re looking for a simple strategy card game, this is for you. I wish there was more game modes and more ways to earn gems, but other than that, it’s pretty decent. Also there is a horrible connection error that happens whenever you try to start a match in arena that has cost me many many matches because it gives me a late start, other than that just wish there was something else you could do in game other than solo and arena like in the original game you could do trials, raids and story, maybe i just miss the original game but i think i make a valid point. ### 5/5 — A total flop *2026-01-04, version 1.0.5* After hearing that brave frontier was trying to make a comeback after their NFT game I got a smidge of optimism that they might release something akin to the original titles. Unfortunately this is not the case, as instead we got a low effort card game with all the standard predatory transactions you can expect from a modern mobile game. The fact that the original 6 hero’s are all locked behind the gotcha system ( in different pools so you can’t even try to roll them all at the same time) is such a disgrace to the games name and Legacy. And to top it all off they shoved an NFT feature into this game too.
