## What is BraveryCord?

The BraveryCord is a system consisting of beads. Every bead represents a specific treatment, research or event, for instance chemotherapy, an emergency hospital admission, a scan, a lumbar puncture, a very good day or a horrible day, surgery, ICU admission, etc. When you are diagnosed with cancer, you receive a wax cord with one VOKK-bead, an anchor bead (representing hope) and letter beads for your name. Over time, beads for every treatment will be added to the cord. This way, you string your own BraveryCord, telling the story of your treatment.
The BraveryCord app is an addition to the BraveryCord: it helps you to virtually collect your beads. The app helps you to count your BraveryBeads, to remember the order and to share your cord with friends. The app quickly shows you the meaning of each separate bead and you are even able to make notes about the beads. You can use the app on both your iPhone and iPad.

### 5.1 — 2026-07-04

Compatibility with iOS 26.x has been improved: the necklace can once again be shared via email on newer iOS versions as well.

### 5.0 — 2026-02-27

Two new beads have been added: the Immuno Lisa bead and the discharge bead.
Additionally, several minor issues have been fixed, and iOS 26 compatibility has been improved.

### 4.4 — 2025-02-12

Version 4.4 includes:
- new functionality to show or hide the heart and butterfly beads;
- new functionality to export the diary as text.

### 4.3 — 2023-03-05

A new bead is added in version 4.3: the physical therapy / rehabilitation bead.

### 4.2 — 2022-11-23

The following improvement has been made in version 4.2:
- Two new beads have been added: the hair growth bead and the Gold Ribbon bead.
- New name and logo for Vereniging Kinderkanker Nederland.
- A bead can be moved tot a different date.
- Which beads now provides a detailed view showing all dates for that bead.
- Dark mode support.
- Small bug fixes.
