## What is Braw Bagpipe Tuner?

Tune your chanter and drones on your pipes. Free to download and start tuning, with an optional in-app Pro upgrade that unlocks the full power of the tuner and its advanced features.

Braw Bagpipe Tuner has been written specifically for the tonal and tuning requirements of the Bagpipes, and uses highly advanced pitch detection algorithms which have been further customized for the pipes.

Thanks to our new QuantumNote technology, the Braw Bagpipe Tuner revolutionizes tuning with its ability to quickly and accurately analyse the tuning of all notes on your chanter while you are playing a tune. This is far superior to all other tuning methods, which rely on holding a single note, as even the best players will adjust their blowing slightly when holding a single note.

Our QuantumNote technology allows you to analyse the tuning when it matters the most - when you are playing! Using QuantumNote, the app is aware of bagpipe ornamentation, and even uses this knowledge to help build an accurate tuning result.

And now QuantumNote extends to your drones too. Place the tuner in front of you and play - your chanter, tenor and bass are all tracked at once, so you can tune your drones without holding the phone to the top of each one.

The tuner is responsive, accurate and precise. It is also written to be efficient, so you don't need an expensive phone or tablet to be able to run it. The efficiency also means it has relatively low battery consumption.

The tuner lets you tune your chanter and drones based on a reference Low A calibrated to your chanter.

The tuner automatically detects which chanter note or drone note you are playing, based on what is the loudest/closest to your devices microphone. The gauge will then indicate how sharp or flat your chanter note or drones are, allowing you to tune them to achieve sweet sounding pipes.

To suit your preference, different chanter tuning schemes can be chosen.

An optional high contrast theme can be set for outdoor use.

Quite honestly the best bagpipe tuner app on the market. I have used most, if not all the available bagpipe tuning apps at one time or another and I rate none than the Braw tuner for versatility and ease of use. It is accurate and simple. The only tuner that allows you to tune your drones simultaneously while sounding the chanter without requiring a microphone. Simply Braw!

I’m supprised there is very little feedback on this app. As a newbie to pipping the app has been invaluable to help train my ear to what good tuning sounds like. I also use it to help tune in the drones for the band. It easy to use and a valuable addition to any piper, especially those on the learning curve.

This is a fantastic tool to balance the notes on your chanter and get “a number” for tuning others. The notes are compared to low A and are shown as flat-sharp in comparison. With this information you can make the adjustments in the usual ways.

When I first installed the app everything worked very well. I’m using a special bagpipe microphone for the iPhone. But a couple of weeks ago it changed. Since then it is impossible to tune the drones (chanter is still working well). It simply doesn’t recognise the dronesound even when I tap the drones button of the app. It doesn’t make a difference if I am using the microphone or not. Please fix that bug.

Our band has been using the premium app for a year now. We are quite happy with it compared to other we have used! To have a piper play up the scale and then stop, and then be able to see the recorded notes is a big plus!

I actually paid $30 for this garbage. It is impossible to get it to work correctly to actually tune your chanter. Stick with the FREE bagpiper tuner App. Much easier to use.
