The opening pictures didn’t look too good. When I opened it up and played the tutorial I was even more horrified, was this just slay the spire mobile edition? I was wrong on both fronts. The debuffs and buffs are extremely unique, the cards synergize extremely well, you can create really fun combos, and the way you can manipulate your cards is thrilling. My only problem with the game is that, as of my second run, it’s very easy, I haven’t even gotten down to eighty health, however, I did hear another review that said it got harder (I think). I’m not the best at describing things, but this game actually feels like you’re building a deck yknow? Like most of these types of games I’ve played only really have cards that mostly just say “deal 6dmg and then draw a card”, but this game actually has like real status effects (aside from the basics like frozen), so you can actually strategize with your cards for combos, while also actually needing to bring or take cards that heal you or cleanse status effects instead of just filling your deck with pure damage cards. I did what was asked of me in the ad, but I cannot return to the Breach game even after sitting at the advert’s end sequence for 5 mins! Going to uninstall after this. May return next year to see if it’s still as bad. Game seems fun. But was cut short by an unskippable, un-closable ad. Better luck next time. ### 1/5 — ads make it unplayable *2022-02-20, version 1.5106* i love a deckbuilding roguelike as much as the next person, and this is a solid deckbuilding roguelike (i especially like the fact that you can set the card pool yourself) HOWEVER, it’s riddled with ads (1/boss, give or take), and half of those ads don’t have a way to quit them, even after waiting 5 mins or more. so you beat a boss, and then you’re forced to restart the app and try again. i don’t mind an advertisement, but you need to find better providers. if this wasn’t an issue i could see myself logging 60+ hours playing, easily ### 2/5 — Old Gold *2023-03-11, version 1.7113* From what I remember, it was a phenomenal game when I last played it but, now when I try opening the game it crashes and I don’t know why. It feels really unbalanced and not very challenging until it suddenly becomes impossible. Doesn’t really leave much for the player to become skillful. The micro-transaction elements make it feel really grindy and not as fun as it could be.
