As I have played “whack-a-mole” fixing newly arising issues, while trying to make the house our own separately, I’ve worked on the electricity one area at a time. Figuring out the former owner’s logic, while also figuring out the two good sized additions he oversaw, has been a challenge, especially electricity wise. I was originally writing down what each breaker did in a notepad, but then another project/issue would pop up, or the notepad disappeared. That’s when I found the Breaker Box - Panel Tool. With room to add notes, and customize, I’m almost done (I have a main box and a separate box for my backup generator). I’d give the app 4.5 starts if it was an option, but it’s not a 5 only because it’s not really intuitive. You have to use it to figure it out, and then it’s great. If you’re reading this, just buy it and start using it - you’ll be glad your did. **Developer response:** Thanks for the nice review! As I’m updating my configurations, I update this app in my phone. I’m digging it! I used it for a few days and paid the $8 one time fee so I could add the sub panel and download my information. I love this app! This is the first time I’ve paid for an app period. Thank you so much for making my life easier. Happy New Year! ### 5/5 — Excellent and Useful Tool *2024-10-13* This app is exactly what I was looking for when I set out to map and relabel the electrical panel for my house. Simple and straightforward app that isn’t bloated with unnecessary features. The app is perfectly functional without Pro but I purchased for the cloud-syncing, custom fixtures/rooms, and to support to one-time payment model. The only things I couldn’t do in the app were linking breakers that weren’t adjacent and linking a sub panel to the main panel (super minor things at the end of the day). ### 5/5 — Best panel legend app *2024-10-07, version 1.25.4* This is incredibly intuitive and super easy to use. Provides excellent functionality. Brett, responded to an inquiry I made promptly, and pleasantly answered my inquiry. ### 5/5 — Absolutely what I needed *2024-04-30, version 1.24.3* Live in an older home and breaker box was poorly labeled. Had to just flip breakers until I got the right one. House is also wired oddly. Downloaded this app and was able to map my whole house and make order out of chaos. Thanks so much for the response, and all the features this app offers. The issues below were available already I just didn’t know. Every homeowner, or anyone helping family members should buy this app! This app is exactly what I was looking for, but I didn’t even know there was an app like this. It works great. One thing I wish could be added was adding multiple fixtures to a breaker, and adding custom room names. Other than that it’s perfect for me. Both of these are possible - if you edit a breaker you can see a way to add as many fixtures as you want at the bottom of the screen. And tap on the rooms tab to see a list of rooms with a add button at the bottom to add new rooms. ### 5/5 — Great App, Great customer service *2024-02-02, version 1.23.5* Really appreciate the Breaker Box App. Easy to use and customizable. Once the breakers are identified, you can print and have it available. Been modifying my breaker panels recently with the addition of solar energy. The Breaker Box App made it easy to keep everything up to date ( having to change breaker position/type in box). Had an issue with printing, contacted developer. Seems there may be an issue with search function - does not filter any results when searching a fixture, label, or notes. Would also be great if the labels would also show in the fixture list - for example if you have multiple receptacles and want to be able to label them (R1, R2,..) to be able to quickly map back to the breaker. **Developer response:** Let me know if you are still having issues with the search feature. There was a bug that previously broke this feature but it should be corrected now. I also think the suggestion about the fixture list has been updated to work as you are expecting - if not then please reach out to me directly through the contact info in the app. I am always looking for ways to improve the usefulness of the app. ### 5/5 — Just what I was looking for!!! *2023-12-13* This app is exactly what I was imagining I needed! I recently had my breaker box replaced and unfortunately when they went through and labeled everything, it is somehow worse than the original box! LOL. I have three panels to document and while I'm not done yet, I've made a lot of use of the custom fixtures, custom rooms, iCloud sync to work on several devices and have even exported the panels to PDF so that I can take some notes on them. After filling in every field (i think!), it wouldn’t let me add. Half the advanced settings I had no idea what to put. Not necessary for me. Just want to record what outlets and switches and light are on which circuit… ### 1/5 — App PDF Export Doesn’t Work *2022-12-19, version 1.11.1* After paying for the pro version, and putting in all of my circuits - the export to PDF doesn’t work. I would like to print my panel out but the app doesn’t generate the pdf and described. Hope the developers can fix. ### 1/5 — Suggestion *2021-08-20, version 1.4.1* it would be interesting if we could see the description of the device on the virtual panel and if we could search for the device which will give us the associated circuit breaker ### 3/5 — Misleading description *2025-01-02, version 1.30.0* The app is nice enough, and well thought out. Note that the free version is only marginally useful as the data cannot be printed out or exported. Since that was not clearly stated in the description, I ended up wasting almost an hour until I realized. I’d buy and rate higher, but I don’t want to reward potential dishonesty. ### 3/5 — Great App *2024-03-04, version 1.23.5* Great app does almost everything I need to make professional looking panel schedules. My only gripe is that I get panels that have 84 circuit breakers every so often and this maxes out at 80! Need 4 more spots added! One of the first things I notice as I’m building out my panel is there is no Copy to replicate breakers, such as the two needed for my Oven. The app lets you label breakers but then doesn’t use that label on the main panel view. It just uses the room label, so it shows 4 breakers labeled “Kitchen”. I think this may be a bug. It should use the room and fixture; I.e. “Kitchen-outlets” or use the label you can add for the breaker. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback - you are right. There should be a way to choose what is shown as the label for the breaker (similar to the pdf version). I will add this in the next release! ### 3/5 — Great app but cannot transfer to new iPhone. *2022-09-19, version 1.7.0* Love this app. I have no ability to transfer to a new iPhone. The normal iPhone to iPhone transfer did not carry the data over. Recommended ### 5/5 — A great app to manage your breaker panel and electricals. *2026-02-17* I’ve been using this app for several years now, and the author keeps making improvements. After documenting my last home with help from this tool, I was able to see and finally understand why certain outlets and fixtures were always giving me issues. With the data I provided, my electrician was able to quickly find and correct several wiring faults that a previous DIY owner of the home had introduced. The app has been worth every penny. I’ve passed this panel data on to my son, who bought that house from me, and now I’m busy mapping our newly purchased retirement home! **Developer response:** Syncing across devices will be part of the next release (1.9.0) coming before the end of October. ### 5/5 — Finally, a circuit breaker mapping app! *2025-12-31* I’ve been searching for this kind of app for a while but did not find one or a good one until now. Breaker box is an incredibly well thought out app. It has many options and configurations to meet the various different style of breaker boxes and breakers out there. I highly recommend this app. One thing that would be nice is to be able to add fixtures from the room view so that the room could be automatically selected. Also able to create custom rooms. Shows/make individual amp sizes for breakers. The ability to color coat breakers for your own benefit. The ability to split a single pole, or combine two poles to make one breaker. The ability to print out all information, including the breaker layout. Able to use on multiple devices if logged into the same Apple account. Was able to restore purchase on another device and sync between the two devices, without having to pay twice (sign up required with email). Cons: Unable to find any yet. ### 5/5 — Great app but iCloud sync does not work *2025-10-11* Great app but I paid for the pro version, installed it on both my iPhone and iPad, mapped out my breaker boxes on my iPhone, sync’d my iPhone to iCloud asking it to upload local data to iCloud, opened up the iPad version and asked it to overwrite local data with iCloud, but nothing happened. I would write the developer but he only seems to be on twitter which I don’t use.
