## What is BreakFinder?

BreakFinder Foil tracks your prone foiling sessions automatically on your Apple Watch. Not recycled surf logic — a detection pipeline rebuilt from the ground up for the biomechanics of foiling.

AUTOMATIC FLIGHT DETECTION
No buttons. No guessing. A sensor-fusion algorithm tuned to foiling detects every phase of your ride. Takeoff, flight, and pumping are recognised and logged automatically — including connected rides where pump chains keep you flying.

• Flight count and total flight time
• Pump cycles per flight
• Connected ride chains
• Touchdown count for progression tracking
• Top speed and distance
• GPS track and heart rate for every session

5-STATE DETECTION ENGINE
Developed from motion-science research, the FSM moves through Idle → Paddling → Takeoff → Foiling → Pumping and back. FFT-based pump detection locks onto your personal pump frequency. Variance-collapse flight detection catches the clearest positive foil signal. Two-stage tripod takeoff detection eliminates false positives from surf pop-ups.

OFFLINE CALIBRATION
Select short, medium, or long wave period before the session. The app calibrates pump-frequency expectations without any internet connection — works in the lineup, not just at the pier.

RUNS ON YOUR APPLE WATCH
Detection runs on-device, standalone — no phone needed in the lineup. One free BreakFinder account keeps your foil history.
