### 4/5 — Great and professional

*2022-03-10*

Tracks everything u need. However in kids there is running clock which doesn’t stop for every play turnover or even during a timeout. Would like to add this setting so can still track when play happened in game and players playing time. Then perfect

### 4/5 — Helpful App

*2020-01-19*

I am not sure if or how to change buttons; doesn’t exactly track the same stats as I’ve used in the past. I have trouble stopping and starting the game-clock at the right time and keeping track of substitutions.
Nevertheless, this app combines what usually would take three sheets of paper for me and gives you interesting efficiency stats.

### 4/5 — Cost

*2019-12-02, version 2.6.5*

Is the cost a one time payment for the app or recurring?

### 4/5 — Great App

*2019-11-03*

Best hoops stats app I have seen. Would be 5 star for sure if I could figure out how to have info sync between devices...

### 4/5 — Tracks a lot of data...

*2019-07-21*

This is an updated review given developer feedback.

Over the past few weeks, I have used several basketball data tracking apps and this one definitely tracks the most statistics. Setting things up takes a little practice (not quite as intuitive as some of the other apps I have used in that you need to set up not only your team, but also an opposing team). The one thing that I was not thrilled about was the requirement to register the app in order to see the reports. (At the time, I did not have internet access, so I was not able to review my data after the game. They also had a server problem that would not allow me to register the app, which has since been fixed.)

This app costs about twice as much as the other one I was using. It does track more data, but I am not yet sure if the premium was worth it. Time will tell...

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback.

First, let me assure you that you can generate reports and view them on your device without having internet access. The only time you must have internet access is the very first time you run a report. At that time you must register the app. After you register you won't be required to have internet access to run a report and you will be able to view the reports on your device. If you haven't gone through the registration process, please do so by running any report and following the registration process. If you are getting an error message while trying to register, please give us that error message. The fastest way to get the error message to support is to use the Contact button on the About page of the app. That will come directly to support. If whatever is causing you to receive an error message prevents you from using the Contact button, just email the error message and any other helpful information to appsupport@breakthroughbasketball.com.

By the way, we never see any of your data or reports. All of the data and the report generation is done on your device and does not require an internet connection to do so. You can (don't have to) run a report and then export (email) to anyone you wish. Of course, that will require an internet connection.

Following is some information that will help when trying to export and email a report.

The Mail account that Apple provides on your iPad/iPhone must be set up because our app uses that email account to send the reports to you. So, make sure it is set up and functioning correctly. Note that if you use a browser for your email, like with Gmail, you still have to set up the Mail account that is provided with your iPad/iPhone. Of course, make sure that the “To” email address is correct. Also, make sure you have internet access when you send the email.

To set up the Mail account:
Find the Settings icon on your iPad/iPhone and tap it.
Scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords (On older versions of iOS tap on Mail which may be combined with Contacts, Calendars).
Tap Add Account.
Follow the instructions to set up the email account that you normally use.

If you have your Mail account set up and the reports still aren’t working, go into the Mail app on your device and try sending an email to yourself. If that doesn’t work, there is still something set up wrong in your Mail account. You might try deleting the Mail account and setting it up again.

If you don't have Apple's Mail app on your iPad/iPhone make sure you download it from the App Store as it is necessary for emailing from our app to work correctly. Without the app the Send button will be grayed out.

We’ve also had customers report that the storage on their device was almost full and that prevented the Mail account from functioning correctly. In that case, you should delete some of the unused apps to free up storage space.

Hope that helps. If you need further assistance, please let us know.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2018-12-15*

I have been using this app for a few years and find it as simple or as complicated as you need.

You can have top level summaries such as fouls, or break them down as to type of fouls. You can have auto rebounds calculation so the app works out if it’s offensive or defensive rebound give previous data input.

Good charts, stat history and easy to use.

Highly recommended!

### 4/5 — Needs team share capability

*2018-07-07*

Good app for tracking stats, didn’t take too long to get the hang of it. Would be perfect if stats could be shared live with families and fans like GameChanger for softball and if you could search for other teams using the app.

### 5/5 — Junesupermom

*2018-05-05*

I love this app. We have been using it for a few years. The one thing I would love: if it had a live portion. For those parents that can't make it to the game, but want to know what is going on.

### 5/5 — Met expectations

*2018-03-11, version 2.5.0*

A lot going on. A little tricky to grasp for beginner. Steep learning curve. Intuitive. I’m glad I chose this app.

### 4/5 — Previous seasons archive?

*2018-03-03*

Have been using app for a couple years and really enjoy it. I would like to be able to collapse the previous years history from game view or have drop down to choose current season.

### 5/5 — Great App! Support Team is helpful as well!

*2017-12-26*

I had what I considered a bug with the app awhile back and the support team contacted me and got a fix out for it soon after. Can’t say enough good things about the app.

My only request would be, maybe adding a multi-game deletion in the seasons/games tab. I generally have a lot of games from various tournaments and it takes a large amount of time to go in and delete each game individually. Maybe there is an option for this already, but I have not been able to find it if there is.

Thanks for such a wonderful app 🔥🔥🔥

**Developer response:** Can you please contact us again like you did a few days ago. We sent 2 emails to you with a discussion of the issue, but have not heard back from you. Please check your junk or spam mailboxes to see if our emails went there. Thanks.

Philosophy92, we haven't been able to recreate the problem you are reporting so would like more details. In the app, please go to About then Contact and send us a message. That way App Support can get the information from you and try to solve this issue. Thanks.

By the way, we have just been given the ability to reply to messages such as yours by Apple so this is the first we have been able to reply.

### 4/5 — 4.5

*2017-12-02, version 2.4.1*

The app works great but still need an additional person to keep stats on a live game. Love the report breakdown, they are awesom!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2017-01-22, version 2.1.0*

We use this for our high school games. Easy for the managers and provides great in game and post game information.

### 5/5 — Great

*2016-12-10, version 2.0.12*

Great App...

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken

*2020-01-15*

This app was doing well for a while but is now useless. I tracked a game and afterwards viewed the stats and it looked good. When I went to send the stats today, the report shows the wrong team and the stats for one of the teams are from a different game and I can’t do anything about them.

### 1/5 — Not what I wanted

*2015-12-05, version 2.0.2*

Very confusing and locked up wouldn't close subs box had to delete app would like my money back

### 1/5 — Crashes??

*2014-11-07, version 1.1.0*

Great app interfact, but the app crashes very consistently. Update please!

### 1/5 — Nope

*2013-11-10, version 1.0.2*

Was planing on using the app this season. Keeping stats for a scrimmage and it crashed in the 3rd quarter. Most data was lost for the game, the app didn't back it up. Nope, way am I using this app in season.

### 2/5 — Way too much info

*2023-11-09*

I have to admit, this looks like an awesome app but holy cow, it is very difficult to keep up in a game situation. Trying to keep track of the clock, substitutions, shots, misses, rebounds, fouls and then back to the clock. It was really hard.

I understand you can turn the game clock on and off and if I use the app again (and that is a big if), I am going to turn the game clock off as that really isnt important to me but what really is hard is just keeping track of who is in and who is out, especially when there are multiple substitutions on both teams. I think it would be good if we just had a roster of the team and could click on any of the players instead of trying to keep track of who is in or out.

Ended up creating a spreadsheet that I think I will probably utilize more than I can use this program which is disappointing considering I spent 20 bucks on the app.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2019-01-21*

I hope this gets better quick. Just started to enter my team and the data entry screen is poorly executed. It was so bad I had to start my review before really digging in further. Here’s my issues so far: There’s no option to continue adding players without going back out to the main screen (free programs offer this); Height entry doesn’t allow you to enter feet-inches. It appears to be in inches? centimeters? Who enters height this way? What about an option to enter grade/class or age level? Maybe it gets better from here?

Update1: Continued frustration. Everything is so compartmentalized, that you can only enter data one way. If I want to start a game, but don’t have that team entered I can’t just enter it in the game screen, I have to back out to the games/league screen. Same thing for adding a league.

Appreciate the quick feedback from the developer.

**Developer response:** Appreciate your feedback.
The comment about entering height relates to a bug. The iPad version allows you to enter feet and inches but the iPhone version doesn't show the proper keyboard to allow you to do that. We will get that fixed. It's somewhat amazing that we hadn't found that bug earlier or that no one else has reported it in the last 3 years. Most likely very few users enter height when entering players but it should work correctly anyway.

### 2/5 — ok, not great

*2013-12-04, version 1.0.2*

App is on the right track, but has some serious design flaws. As a HS coach, stats are an important part of assessing game play and preparing for future games. Problems with this app:
-- No way of editing specific statistics after the game without going back to the play-by-play screen. Lets say the stat-keeper has player A with 4 offensive rebounds. After charting the game form film, you realize player A had 2 offensive boards. You can't simply edit the final report, you have to go back through the play-by-play and find an offensive rebounds to delete. Tedious process. Why not just allow a person to edit the offensive rebounds column in the final report?
-- No way to simplify the output into a boxscore-like format, including no "score-by-quarters" summary. I have to manually type this information in when I e-mail the report to local media. The final report includes a ton of information media doesn't need or want. Why not include a box-score output??
-- This is related to my previous point, but the report is difficult to read in print, and frustrating to read on-screen. Too many rows & columns (which is why the app needs a box-score summary) to keep straight. Column headings are often off of the ipad screen, which means lots of scrolling up and down, up and down when trying to look at the report. A boxscore with only the most important stats would solve a lot of problems.
-- Is there a way to keep track of/edit a "+/-" chart (player efficiency)? I found a column that seems like it might do this, but I can't find how its calculated or how to customize it.

These are basic features that any stat-keeping software should include. Its reasonably priced and easy to use, but based on the above issues I would not recommend the app until these problems are corrected.

### 3/5 — Pretty good

*2023-07-03*

Takes a bit to get used to using and figuring out the reports. On an iPhone the layout can get overwhelming and trying to get midrange shots closer to the basket to not log as a layup is tough. Wish this was cloud enabled so could use between devices. But one of the few apps that let u stat keep for just one player and has a shot chart.

### 4/5 — Love the app but have a request…

*2024-12-11*

Love the app! I have used this app for 3 seasons now and the one thing I wish I could see is quarter by quarter stats. Ie. I’d love to be able to see quarter by quarter stats for in game adjustment/halftime adjustments.

### 4/5 — Decent, but not perfect

*2024-01-07*

Having used EasyStats for some time, I appreciated some of the advanced stats and features that have been built into this app. For example, tracking steals as turnovers with one click is logical, but doesn’t exist in some other stats apps. Additionally, having some of the advanced stats is fantastic and could be a game changer if a few things were improved with the app overall.

I have two complaints, one somewhat minor and one that may limit my use of this app:

The minor gripe is that the clock doesn’t allow me to type in a time to change the time. Having to scroll through, especially since the numbers do not roll over (e.g. when going from :01 to :59, I would either have to scroll through all the numbers or play the clock to go down a few seconds) is a time consuming thing in the middle of quick action. If I were perfect at keeping in sync with the clock operator, it wouldn’t be an issue. But I often have to make updates to the times in order for the game flow to display properly.

The issue that may keep me from using the app is that there’s no mechanism for syncing between devices. Enabling either a cloud-based sync ability (most ideal) or some way to export/import seasons, teams, and stats between devices would make this app significantly more useful to me. I find that I do live stats on one iPad, film on another iPad, and review the stats on the go on my phone. Other apps support this, and I’ve come to rely on it in my coaching workflows.

This app has so much potential; I hope the developers keep improving it and that it becomes something that can be my primary stats app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love the app. Needs one thing though.

*2024-02-29*

I like everything about the app. I just wish on the stats report there was a score-by-quarter for both teams added on to it. When printing out box scores, the score-by-quarter is not included and it’s the number one request that the journalists receiving these reports have from me.

### 5/5 — Love the app but would love to be able to break down active game by quarter

*2023-02-04, version 2.7.9*

Love the app. Use it for my High School Varsity team. I just wish there was a way to see stats by quarter during a live game. Would be nice to be able to quickly check how many turnovers we had in a specific quarter not just a running tally for the game.

### 5/5 — Great Functionality

*2023-01-12*

App has a lot of good functionality and stat tracking. UI took me a little getting used to, but overall is pretty good. I had a few issues at the beginning, and the team was incredible in responding to me and then fixing the issues.

Note: a lot of my trouble navigating the app was due to some visual bugs with my device being set to dark mode in the system settings. After the 2.7.8 update, these bugs are gone and the app is so much easier to navigate.

### 5/5 — Great app for basketball stats

*2023-01-07*

Tried many similar apps to keep stats for basketball and this one stood out. Easy to figure out and provides so many useful information on the game. Definitely one of the top apps available currently.

### 5/5 — My Review

*2020-04-04, version 2.7.2*

I think you need to add more advanced stats like, TS%, Win Shares, Net Rtg, and USG%

### 5/5 — Great App

*2020-01-29*

I use the app to track my Grandson’s high school basketball games. Been using for two years. Now able to track each team member. Stats report really great.

### 5/5 — Great App!!!

*2019-12-23*

Been using this app for my son’s high school JV team and it is perfect for our needs. It keeps the type of turnover and foil etc. it also is great for analyzing shot charts and shot zones to see where we make and miss shots.

### 5/5 — Gr8

*2019-07-31, version 2.6.2*

Serves its purpose, recommended to many coaches. This app is %100 on point.

### 5/5 — Great App, many features and reports

*2019-07-18*

Support team is very responsive, easy to track many stats and tons of reports for in depth analysis.

### 5/5 — 5 Stars - the best stat app I’ve come across

*2018-12-26*

Everything is right at your fingertips. 30 mins to set up with your team and player info and then your ready. The reports are easy to generate and a great way to show players how they contribute. I have two players who dominate the scoring for us, averaging about 75% of our points. The reports are a great way to show others how they contribute to our success. Rebounding, tips, taking a charge...its all right in front of you!
