A brand new Hong Kong breastfeeding facilities locator and baby journal mobile app for free download. The Breastfeeding Friendly Community Initiative (BFCI) in Hong Kong is organized by the School of Nursing, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with Department of Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, The University of Hong Kong. BFCI is also co-organized with non-government organizations by Hong Kong Breastfeeding Mothers’ Association and Natural Parenting Network. This program is funded by the Food and Health Bureau, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. BFCI aims to provide management and staff training for public places as well as mothers to promulgate breastfeeding friendly attitudes; BFCI also develops a brand new baby care app, named “Breastfeeding GPS” (bfGPS). The bfGPS is a brand new user-friendly app which supports and ensures mothers, parents and carers to sustain breastfeeding with the following features: 1. Facilities Locator This function provides timely, useful and accurate information of the nearest breastfeeding-friendly facilities and premises in the community according to personal needs and preference on breastfeeding facilities. 2. Baby Journal The app also facilities carers in recording various aspects of their baby care routine, such as feeding, expression, diaper and sleep etc., and their children’s development.
