### 3/5 — Very pretty but..

*2024-07-21, version 2.5.1*

Very pretty but doesn't seem to be working all that great..would love to know if/when there are any updates to give it another try

### 3/5 — Unresolved Issue, no longer using app

*2021-05-05, version 2.4.1*

i love the simplicity of the design and how personable it makes forecasting, though I’ve chosen to discontinue using this app. When I upgraded to 12 Pro, timed notifications stopped coming in on the home screen and I haven’t been able to get them back. I even reached out to the developers and I received no response :( it’s a shame because this app really is great

### 4/5 — Carrot Weather wanted a subscription!

*2021-01-29, version 2.4.1*

Needed a new weather app. Stumbled across this. Beautiful app. Love how you can customize the app UI. Would love to see widgets in a future update for sure!

### 2/5 — Problem

*2020-08-26, version 2.4.1*

This app keeps using an incorrect location (location tracking turned on).
I’ve even deleted that town from my search to see if that would help the app locate me more accurately: no joy.

### 3/5 — Buggy

*2020-07-13, version 2.4.1*

It works most of the time, but it’s buggy. There are basic bugs that 2 minutes of testing would have caught.

Today it told me to wear sneakers, flip flops, and a t-shirt. Sneakers AND flip flops? How do I do that? No pants/shorts? I can refresh it and get something like this (with two from footwear and no pants) about 1/6 of the time.

Before this update, it was creating sentences that were half complete.

I’m an app developer myself, so I know the importance of testing. Do yourself a favour and check your version thoroughly before releasing it. You obviously have no QA team, so it’s on you to do the testing. Don’t rush it. You should have a list of specific test cases that you check every time.

### 4/5 — Celsius

*2020-02-24, version 2.4*

It would be great to have a forecast showing temperature in Celsius not only Fahrenheit.

### 4/5 — Notifications aren't working :(

*2020-02-14, version 2.4*

Unfortunately the notifications aren't working for me. I tried to reinstall the app and the same thing. Maybe add a 'test notifications' feature!

The app is fantastic. I love being able to customize the temperature to your own clothing (gloves, shorts etc.). The layout is simple and easy to use.

Lots of my friends I have recommended the app to have also said great things. Keep up the great work.

### 4/5 — Brella

*2020-01-09, version 2.4*

I look forward to reading Brella’s little note when it opens. I get a short forecast and that’s all I need

### 5/5 — 𝔹𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕒

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2019-11-17, version 2.4*

It really helps, as a guide to decide what to wear. The people who created this are really smart!

### 5/5 — great app!!!

*2019-10-21, version 2.4*

this is a really good app and is very accurate! i love the organization and how all the colors work well together in one app. i like how it can also tell you what to wear based on your preferences, which i really need, and it can also show you the weather for the next couple of hours. other than these things, something i would recommend for the creators of this app is so that people using it would be able to see what they can wear for the next day. because i like to prepare my outfits the day before, so i need to wait for the next day to be able to see what the app tells me to wear. other than this the app is great!!! 🥳

### 3/5 — Celsius

*2019-10-10, version 2.4*

I want to convert temperature to celsios

### 3/5 — Inaccurate temperatures

*2019-10-04, version 2.4*

Inaccurate forecasts make this app much less useful than it could be. The forecast on Brella frequently shows a high that’s 4-8F higher than the reliable app I usually use. So Brella often recommends clothing that is NOT appropriate for the day’s temperatures. Cool design but fails without accurate weather information.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — doesn’t work

*2023-03-23, version 2.5*

app does not give notifications and crashes every time i try to open it

### 1/5 — Notifications don’t work

*2022-11-27, version 2.4.1*

I wanted to receive notifications through the free trial, but I never received any. I even tried to purchase notifications, but nothing happened. The app still works, but I don’t think the notifications do.

### 1/5 — Notification time cannot be changed

*2021-06-01, version 2.4.1*

Title says it all. Notification time change is not working. Please fix it

### 1/5 — Scam

*2020-09-29, version 2.4.1*

Every cold day it tells me to wear shorts and shirt. Seriously! Who wears shorts and shirt at 60? Prophecy isn’t your game, don’t quit your night job.

Always tells me the opposite of what I need to wear. So guess in a way it works, if I don’t listen to it.

Nice try but learn weather and basic logic before writing algorithms.

### 1/5 — I am a paid user and have not notified.

*2020-09-24, version 2.4.1*

I am a paid user and have not notified.
Please fix it！！！！！！！！！！

Please fix it！！！！！！！！！！

### 1/5 — Lots of fails

*2020-03-29, version 2.4*

My personal forecast for today reads as follows (all typos are Brella’s, not mine):

Good afternoon, [my name]!
You might want to bringing an umbrellaAs they say, you’re keen as a peach! Ponder fruity phrases wearing yourYou should wear your jeans and t-shirt, plus take your sweatshirt. The forecast is rain throughout the day.

=-=-=

And then when I go into the menu and tap “Send feedback”, a grey bar appears near the top of my screen and the rest of the screen dims a little, and that’s the sum total of the result of my tapping “Send feedback”.

I’m thinking maybe this app can’t handle the iPhone XS Max, and/or said phone being set to increase font size somewhat. There’s definitely *something* in my setup that it can’t handle...

Also, once you choose a cutesy-ness level during initial setup, you’re stuck with it: there’s no way to change it in the settings.

Aaand I keep finding *more* things wrong. Through deleting and reinstalling the app several times so I could change that setting that’s only available during the initial setup, I have discovered that it’s not changeable even then: choosing the most straightforward and non-cutesy setting has no effect. Your forecasts will still be full of meaningless fluff phrases (the developers call this “personality”).

Oh...and I just noticed Brella uses Dark Sky for its weather, which in my experience is not as accurate as Accuweather. I think this is just not a weather app for me.

### 1/5 — Not great

*2020-01-17, version 2.4*

I want to like this app. I really do. The problem is that for the last 2 days the morning notification has said it was 85 outside. Yesterday it was actually about 30 and today it said the same when it was 5 degrees outside.

At first I though maybe I didn’t finish setting it up. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case either.

No sense in having a weather app that gives REALLY BAD advice.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2019-09-05, version 2.3.6*

Bad

### 1/5 — 9 degrees off!

*2019-08-24, version 2.3.6*

I have been using this app for a while without ever comparing it to anything (stupidity on my part I guess) when today, I mentioned to someone that it didn’t feel like 90 degrees today at ALL. They replied with, “uh because it’s 81 degrees”. Sure enough, I checked multiple other sites and it was 81. Proceeded to compare hourly temps and Brella was consistently 100% off. Deleting this app and getting another.

### 1/5 — Great App, terrible forecasting

*2019-08-19, version 2.3.6*

“Bring your shades it’s going to be cloudy all day”?
Sorry, it’s Texas...100 degrees +...not a cloud in sight.
I’ll stick with an app that can accurately forecast the weather.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-06-25, version 2.5.1*

This app is wonderful! I use it everyday and my outfits have never been better!

### 5/5 — Serves its general purpose, but could be just more advanced.

*2023-06-27, version 2.5.1*

Now, don’t get me wrong: this app is amazing. I don’t even recall an app like this that tells you what to wear for the day, especially not in such a witty way as this. I’ve used to for what to wear, of course, but I’ve also used to to determine which kind of armor I should wear (Survivalcraft style) as well as any extras that might be crucial in a more extreme situation, such as a diving suit, or a dust mask, or anything for life-or-death situations, such as a gas mask or fire suit.

That being said, though, the app only earns a good rating because it could utilize a whole lot more than just the basics. For example, it could warn me about severe weather and abstain from telling you what to wear during the emergency. Another feature it could have is more options for clothing items, such as for wind and UV index, as well as more options for specific layers of clothing such as outer upper body, or even better, the user can create their own layers each with their own recommendation conditions. There’s so much potential with such an old app.

Overall, nice app to have, but there should be an option for those dedicated meteorologists and weather fanatics to have more specific clothing recommendations for more specific weather conditions. Plus, it once has a crash with the Feels Like setting, which normally I’d say that they probably didn’t catch that during testing, but given how it could’ve bricked my app for good, and how easily it should’ve been noticed, that’s another reason why it only earns 3 stars.
