### 1/5 — Same problem as other posters – app does not work.

*2021-11-08, version 1.2.5*

The app is clunky and old school interface design. What’s worse however, is that the paired blankets just disappear and you have to repair them and this happens over and over until you give up. I called Breville and they said they can’t possibly interact with all the online forums because they just don’t have enough people, but it seems to me this is wilful deafness to your customers in that this isn’t just any forum, this is the platform through which the product software is distributed.

### 1/5 — It just crashes

*2021-09-17, version 1.2.4*

I downloaded the app Signed up Then it crashed and sent me the activation code but how could I enter an activation code now that the app has crashed? I tried again but now my userid already exists. I tried 6 times on 3 different devices and each time the same thing, as soon as I tried to register the app crashed. I logged a ticket on the Breville website almost 2 weeks ago and nothing. If there’s no response soon I’ll have no option but to return the blanket as you pay a premium to use the app.

### 1/5 — Can’t connect to WiFi

*2021-09-07, version 1.2.4*

When I first got the electric blanket it connected to the app fine. About 50% of the time I would turn it on from my lounge using the app and when I went to bed it was stone cold coz the blanket never turned on.
A couple of months later and My Controller disappears from the app and I can’t get it to reconnect. Disappointing.

### 1/5 — Awful interface

*2021-09-03, version 1.2.4*

I successfully linked the devices via wifi. Occasionally it works, more often it doesn’t connect to the electric blanket and doesn’t turn it on. Now my controllers have disappeared?? I’ve re connected them and still nowhere to be found. Waste of time paying extra for wifi connection when it doesn’t work!

### 1/5 — Not a happy user

*2021-08-25, version 1.2.4*

Not a happy customer. When I first brought it home I got the app and blanket working fine but it disconnected itself from the app and whole whole I try to connect it again it says that it has bonded but it isn’t snd I still have to do it manually So disappointed because I brought it due to my mobility problems to make my life easier but I might as well have saved my money and just brought a normal electric blanket

### 1/5 — Absolute rubbish

*2021-08-24, version 1.2.4*

Just don’t buy this product.
Wifi element doesn’t work reliably so negates the reason for getting it.
If I have to walk to the controller to check it’s actually on (95% of the time it hasn’t worked) then I could just turn it on manually.
And because it’s digital it can’t be put on a secondary timer.
Save yourself the time and money. Buy a cheap electric blanket and a wifi plug.
Also on the second one as first one died after 4 months and got replaced under warranty. New one is still useless.
Avoid at all costs.

### 1/5 — Privacy problem? App hacked?

*2021-08-20, version 1.2.4*

The app crashed on sending the verification code and then would not let me sign in. When I tried “forgot my password” it advised that it had sent a password reset code to some other mobile number! Bit of a worry, that…

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2021-08-04, version 1.2.2*

For a big company like Breville this app should be an embarrassment to them. Basic functionality is incredibly sparse and most of the time it doesn’t seem to connect at all. The electric blanket is a good product but if you are interested in the “connect” part of it just forget it.

### 1/5 — Rubbish, does not work. Don’t waste your time

*2021-07-12, version 1.2.2*

This app is HOT TRASH, decided to try regardless of the reviews of warnings and you cannot even sign up begin with with a contest error appearing stating password must be minimum 8 characters, when placing well, over 8 and 12 characters still same error resulting in not even being able to attempt to use the app at all, honestly don’t waste your time even if your able make a sign in its clear the app still fails to deliver.

It’s a sad factor for what could of been such a great and helpful app considering the odd large lengths of the cords and usefulness of putting my partners side on when I leave for work as I’m heading out the door,

### 1/5 — App

*2021-06-30, version 1.2.2*

App is useless.

### 1/5 — Unreliable, clunky and data hungry

*2021-06-26, version 1.2.2*

Unreliable, clunky and badly designed. Very surprised that a company like Breville is unable to do a better.

Requires access to precise location to set up, which frankly speaking is nothing but inappropriate. There is absolutely no legitimate reason why the manufacturer of a household appliance requires this information.

Disgraceful.

### 1/5 — The worst app I have ever seen

*2021-06-23, version 1.2.2*

Other reviews have described this as a "student project" - I think that is unfair to students. I cannot believe that a company of Breville's size would allow this app to carry their name.

It is interesting to see that the most recent update "fixed minor bugs". It is a pity they didn't do anything about the major bugs:

1. If you use a password more than 8 characters you can't log in
2. If you try and reset your password it says that it is EMAILing a code to an apparently random mobile phone number; It wasn't the email address or phone I used (I had to create 3 accounts before I figured out the 8 character password thing)
3. If you try and register with a username that has been used by someone else it says "your password must be 8 characters"; It seems if registration fails then the app assumes it was because of an invalid password
4. The app has clearly been developed with a cross-platform tool and not thoroughly tested on iPhones (if it was tested at all); Despite claiming to have compatibility with iPhone 12, part of the UI is obscured by the notch on an iPhone 12.
5. Much of the text is barely English

Then there are some usability & privacy concerns;

1. Why emulate the buttons on the physical controller? It isn't intuitive and there is no benefit to doing so; Create an appropriate UI for a mobile device that lets you set things directly
2. Why does the app need my location?

Considering the cost of the blanket, this is a premium product. The app is not a premium experience. If Breville isn't willing to invest the money required to get a competent development team to create a quality app then they should just give up.

I could have created a better app than this in a week.

### 1/5 — Absolutely rubbish!

*2021-06-17, version 1.2.2*

Can’t understand how a brand can provide such horrible app and experience to customers.

Nothing in this app works! NOTHING!

Someone at Breville must be crazy to make this effort to damage the brand image.

Fix this ASAP or I’m returning the product and giving the feedback it deserves.

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money - return it now if you want to use it with the app

*2021-06-13*

Have tried to get the app working on four different iOS and Android devices... doesn’t work. Infuriating in this day and age. Massive scam.

### 1/5 — School assignment app, made at home

*2021-06-12, version 1.2.2*

The app is terrible at a professional level. App is not to scale of your phone when using the controller in the app therefore I cannot use the entire controller.
App indicates “offline” but if I physically change on the remote settings that is attached to the blanket, the settings also change on the app instantly which theoretically indicates the app is connected to the blanket.

To summarise this up, create a better app and decommission this school assignment app. You should be ashamed of yourselves promoting this under your brand name.

### 1/5 — Cannot connect remotely

*2021-06-08, version 1.2.2*

App doesn’t recognise password keeps asking for 8 characters although I put in 8?

### 1/5 — Can’t create account

*2021-06-07, version 1.2.2*

Can’t even get started as unable to create an account. App keeps telling me password must be at least 8 characters despite me using one that is 13 characters.

### 1/5 — It stopped working

*2021-05-30, version 1.2.2*

After spending 8 hours getting the app to connect to the controllers, it worked for a while, but has now stopped working and the controllers just won't connect.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — So disappointing

*2024-07-01, version 1.2.6*

Love the electric blanket itself but I cannot connect to the “wi-if compatible” controllers using the app. Followed all the instructions but it just won’t connect. My WiFi has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels enabled so even though it’s not compatible with 5GHz it should still be able to pick up the 2.4GHz signal. But it does not.
Oh and just a tip, don’t have “zoomed” display turned on if you’re using an iPhone or you won’t even be able to read the pairing instructions (not that it matters much).

### 1/5 — Junk app but a great product

*2023-06-24, version 1.2.6*

Use the Breville Home Connect app to connect to the blanket

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2023-06-17, version 1.2.6*

It won’t connect making it useless for me, blanket was not cheap $$$ breville rip off they shouldn’t be allowed to sell somthing that doesn’t work they may as well just take your money and give you no blanket , I am blind and sick in bed so thought this would be good because of voice control , thanks for ripping off pensioner breville !!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work as promised

*2022-09-10, version 1.2.5*

An awful App. Will Not connect reliable and controller disappears from app for no reason. I have a dedicated smarthome network 2.4G - no help.

### 1/5 — Fix it or delete it

*2022-08-29, version 1.2.5*

@breville
Fix this app or get rid of it.
Too many issues to list, makes a perfectly good blankets core selling feature useless.
I see you have a new blanket on market, (BodyZone Plus)
Those who bought the old model blanket (BodyZone Connect) should be given option to upgrade at fair price to compensate for this poor product.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-07-17, version 1.2.5*

This certainly rates as one of the most useless apps I have come across. After connecting a controller, it has no capability to control the blanket. And then the controller disappears off its list. And the list reverts to empty. Been like this for over a year. Obviously the Australian market is not worth much to breville and they are not going to do anything about it.

### 1/5 — Not so roasty toasty

*2022-06-28, version 1.2.5*

This app isn’t 5G compatible so the wifi doesn’t work. Breville doesn’t have this anywhere on there website so really they’re selling electric blankets on false pretences. I could have saved hundreds and purchased a normal electric blanket. Don’t waste your money if you’re on 5G

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2022-06-07, version 1.2.5*

APp Worked well for a week but now it don’t work. Tried everything but can’t access the app
Terrible app never again

### 1/5 — Terrible, Terrible, Terrible

*2022-05-23, version 1.2.5*

Don’t bother doing an app if you arnt going to update it and develop it.

Terrible interface, terrible signup process

You shouldn’t be allowed to advertise features on products where you simply have no intention of keeping up to date.

Don’t buy these blankets for smart features, you will be horribly disappointed.

### 1/5 — Massive piece of junk

*2022-04-03, version 1.2.5*

Just don’t use it. It’s 100% useless.

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Concealed On/Off button

*2022-06-19, version 1.2.5*

I’ve finally deduced that the display problem with the App is only applicable if you have your iPhone display set to Zoomed mode. In Zoomed, the App display is cropped so that the all important on/off toggle switch at the bottom is obscured. If you set your iPhone to display in Standard, not Zoomed, the BodyZone App displays correctly and therefore works properly. Very happy with the blanket and accompanying iOS App now.

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2021-08-04, version 1.2.2*

I purchased the body zone connect electric blanket today without any trouble I created an account and now can control the electric blanket from my phone. Probably a massive gimmick but if your also downloading this app you probably are a gadget person as well
Only issues I can see is the inability to get this app working on home automation software….. so Breville my challenge to you is make this work on Home Assistant and this will be my favourite product of 2021

### 5/5 — Worked perfectly

*2020-07-09, version 1.1.7*

Was a bit nervous after I read the reviews but I had a seamless process. Have been able to label each controller (thank goodness!). Maybe Breville have made some changes?

### 4/5 — Great idea; doesn’t work

*2020-08-04, version 1.1.9*

We bought the king version of the electric blanket. The controllers just won’t maintain a connection to our 2.4 GHz WiFi network. We’ve tried all manner of resetting things, but to no avail. Unfortunately, this removes the key selling point of this app/blanket.

Edit to above: we discovered that the controllers can’t connect to WiFi networks with special characters (like punctuation marks) in their passwords. We made a new network without them and that works fine.

### 4/5 — Works well , bit hard to connect at 1st

*2020-06-06, version 1.1.5*

Happy with the app , takes a bit to get used to , you need to go into the menu 1st to sign up , the can connect to blanket
