## What is BrewIQ?

Actionable insights to make you the perfect brew.

Does your morning coffee ever taste "just okay"? Maybe it’s a bit sour, slightly bitter, or just a little flat. You know it could be better, but you don’t want to spend your morning staring at a spreadsheet or a notebook where you can't read your own writing.

Whether you’re pulling shots on an Espresso machine, perfecting a V60 pour-over, or pressing an AeroPress on the counter, BrewIQ turns your brewing into a quick conversation. You tell Brewy (your own brew buddy) how it tastes; and they tell you exactly what to tweak for tomorrow.

HOW IT WORKS

Log your brew in seconds: Speak it, type it, or tap your defaults. No friction, no hassle.

Get a clear fix: Brewy gives you one simple instruction for your next cup, specific for your set up. “Grind a touch finer,” “Drop the temp 2°C,” or “Extend your pour by 10s.”

Continuous Learning: Every log makes the app smarter. BrewIQ learns your gear, your favourite beans, and your unique palate.

SMARTER BREWING FEATURES
Manufacturer-Aware Advice: Our recommendations stay within the safe and effective range for your specific grinder and espresso machine.

The Freshness Tracker: We know when your beans are degassing, at their peak, or past their best, and we automatically adjust our advice to match the roast age.

Smart Brew Timer: Phase-by-phase guidance for espresso, immersion, and pour-over, with gentle nudges if your flow rate drifts.

One-Handed Design: Built for the kitchen. Log your brew with one hand while holding a kettle in the other.

TRACK WHAT MATTERS
Stop wondering what you did right last week. We keep a searchable history of:

The Science: Dose, grind size, water temperature, and ratio.

The Beans: Origin, process, roast date, and days since roast.

The Results: Extraction time, water profile, and your personal taste scores.

Stop settling for "good enough" coffee. Download BrewIQ and brew the best cup of your life tomorrow morning.

### 5/5 — Better coffee, everyday

*2026-08-22*

Getting into the coffee brewing process while being able to log and track my pours is nice
Can’t wait to try different beans and roasts

### 2/5 — This App is just a slop, maybe okay to just keep a log, but not much else

*2026-08-21*

On Day 1 - I brew my coffee, I input my opinion and it gave me suggestions for the next cup - I thought that was pretty decent. The next cup - it forgot everything from yesterday and told me to make the same cup I did yesterday, despite keeping a log of what’s been done. Just a pointless app if it’s entire premise is to help people pull better shots.

Also the timer has no ability to start again. As in, if you start a timer by accident, it’ll just keep counting, even in the background and even if you completely wipe it from your RAM. And upon coming back to the app, it’ll have options (I think) to either resume the timer or input it manually. Sorry, but like, let me clear it and start again, it ain’t rocket science.

Also, unless you’re buying supermarket beans, you’ll most likely have to insert all the bean info yourself. Not that it makes a difference anyways. I told my was supposed to have hints of pecan, so the app wouldn’t shut up about pecan pies.

**Developer response:** Hey,

Firstly thank you so much for downloading and giving it a go! I really appreciate the feedback. I am so sorry you had these problems within the app, and I will do my best to fix them. Would you be open to maybe shooting over an e-mail about the issues? I'd love to have a little chat in more detail on how/why these issues occured, and how I can make it better for you? Here is my e-mail: info@brew-iq.app, looking forward to hearing from you :)

### 5/5 — Performative Person IQ Assistant

*2026-07-21*

I started using BrewIQ after trying a v60 brew by a friend. I used to just drink cafetière and used SO much coffee that it was an extreme expenditure for subpar coffee.

I’ve changed to brewing coffee via v60 using BrewIQ to track my brews and improve where necessary, it’s easy to use and I can’t wait to try some new different ways to brew other cultural coffees

### 5/5 — Helped me learn more about espresso

*2026-07-17*

I have been struggling for a while dialing in my breville. This helped me in 2 brews dial it in, and taught me along the way! Would definitely recommend

### 1/5 — Not privacy-friendly

*2026-05-28*

This feels like a chatgpt for coffee with a lot of fields to fill in just to get anything useful. I don’t like that I need to consent for AI processing by 2! companies. Why can’t this use Apple’s built in models and be privacy-friendly?

**Developer response:** Hey,

Thanks for your review! I appreciate you taking the time to download BrewIQ.

Firstly, I understand your issue regarding opting in twice. However, if we use apple native libraries, which is totally possible, it is just another hurdle to overcome - so it's easier if we keep it consistent across android and apple. However, potentially shortening that down to one action will certainly help with that friction, thank you :)

The 'lots of fields' you mentioned are basic set up fields for BrewIQ to understand your set up and recommend insightful actions based of this. I hardly think putting your devices, beans, espresso machine and grinder is a lot of fields.

Also, It isn't a chat gpt for coffee, far from it. If you ask chatgpt the same questions it lacks the comprehensive data sets that we have stored in the database for all machine models, grinders, bean variants and devices i.e V60s. The recommendation engine is built on these parameters, and also the ratings you give your brews play a huge part in finding your preferred tastes, which ultimate give you better recommendations.

If you have some more time, I'd urge you to try it again. Please reach out at info@brew-iq.app if you have any further feedback :)
Best,

Marc

### 5/5 — Im addicted

*2026-05-18*

I’ve been drinking coffee for over 10 years and this is absolutely a game changer! Coffee has become more then just morning liquid fuel, it’s now become a hobby where I can experiment daily as a morning ritual before I start my day. Recommended for anyone who is starting out or experienced in their coffee journey!

### 5/5 — Super app

*2026-05-18*

I’m getting more and more into coffee lately, this actually gives some great suggestions for my machine and the various beans I use.

### 5/5 — Great way to learn and make better coffee

*2026-05-14*

I’ve been struggling for a while to make my espresso and french press better. Theres so many recipes online and none of them seemed to work with the beans I buy. After using this for a few days I can already notice me learning more and also my coffee getting better thanks to the recommendations.
