## What is Bridget?

Apple Maps won't tell you when a drawbridge ahead is backing up traffic. Bridget does.

Bridget is a companion for Apple Maps — not a replacement. You plan your trip in Bridget; it finds the movable bridges on your route and hands you off to Apple Maps to drive. While you go, it watches those bridges and warns you when one is backing up traffic — usually because it's raised — so you can reroute around the jam.

It's a smart read of live traffic, computed entirely on your iPhone. There's no public real-time drawbridge feed for drivers, so Bridget reads the congestion instead — tuned against the City of Seattle's official drawbridge opening records. And it's honest about confidence: the board shows which bridges it can flag reliably and which it's still learning.

• A live status board of every movable bridge in Seattle
• Tuned and validated against the City of Seattle's official records
• No accounts, no ads, no tracking — nothing leaves your phone

Bridget is free. If it saves you a wait, you can leave a tip.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-09-14

• Two more bridges now get heads-up alerts: University and Spokane St (off-peak, like Montlake). Their alert levels are tuned against each bridge's own opening history in the city's official records, and the method was tested blind on the bridges we can verify before being trusted here.

• Every bridge's levels were re-tuned on a new two-week, round-the-clock measurement study — expect fewer alerts on ordinary heavy traffic, especially at Ballard.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-21

Choose how much Bridget speaks up, plus a board fix.

• New in Settings: "Trip alerts" — pick "Delays only" to hear from Bridget just when a bridge is backed up enough to be worth rerouting, or keep the earlier queue warnings too (the default — nothing changes unless you choose).
• Fixed: the 1st Ave S bridge's row on the status board was stuck on "—". It reads again.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-17

Sharper bridge board, smoother updates.

• More accurate "Heavy" indicators for the University and Spokane St bridges — each is now measured against its own typical traffic, so the board warns less often when nothing unusual is happening.
• Better-aimed traffic measurement points at every bridge, including fixes for the 1st Ave S bridge's southbound reading and the University Bridge's northbound reading.
• Time-of-day logic now always uses Seattle time, even if your phone is set to another time zone.
• Smoother first launch after updating, including on a weak connection.
