BrightBike is the official City of West Palm Beach self-service bike rental and bikeshare program - perfect for short journeys throughout the city. 
The BrightBike app gives you access to 150 bikes available 24/7/365 at more than 16 docking stations throughout Downtown West Palm Beach.  BrightBike is your best mobility solution whether you are a resident commuting to your office or a visitor exploring the area. 
Hourly rental options are available for visitors and residents. Residents and those working in Downtown West Palm Beach can opt for a discounted ongoing monthly membership subscription with unlimited rides. 
BrightBike docking stations are conveniently located at the Brightline Train station, Tri-Rail, Clematis Street, Flagler Drive and other ideal locations. Shops, restaurants, parks, and other attractions are all within easy reach on a BrightBike. 
Use the BrightBike app to locate docking station locations as well as available bikes and docking/parking spaces. Rent from any docking station location and park at any docking station in the system when you’re done. It’s simple, fast, and convenient.

We struggled to get our app to allow us to rent multiple bikes, which was a bit of a hassle. But, once we got everything rented, we enjoyed a great ride! When we checked our bikes back in, we failed to properly lock them in place incurring extra fees on our rental. We contacted customer service, and they were great to work with! They were very responsive and helpful and eventually refunded the overage fees!

After purchasing two bikes they didn’t have anyway to see how long the trip was and if we were going to go over our time limit. They also have no way to extend the trip.

This app replaced an existing app without any notification. The old one just stopped showing anything. 

Had to try to unlock 4 different bikes to get it to work. I understand hardware side might be challenging but this app doesn’t do much. There isn’t a history of rides. There was a nice notification when the bike was docked but there was another notification that made it seem like it was still active at the end of my hour rental. 

You can’t see what bikes are available without being in range. This probably was less important before but they offer e-bikes it would be nice to know if one is available before walking a couple blocks. 

Overall it’s a basic app with poor execution. Needs a couple more features to be useful on a regular basis.

I work in downtown WPB but commute in from an hour away. The BrightBikes are incredibly convenient for getting to that great spot for lunch that’s just a little too far away to walk. I have virtually no trouble renting a bike and returning it. The app is easy to use, clean and simple, and doesn’t take forever to load screens. A couple of feedback points: 1) I would love to see my rental history 2) I would also love to be able to see that my return has been registered successfully 3) I have a badge notification on the app tile, but no corresponding area in the app menus with a badge and no indication of what that notification is or how to clear/acknowledge it. Perhaps it’s a notice that my bike return was successful? 5) There’s a notice inside the basket that says using the bikes on the sidewalk is not allowed and clarifies that bikes can use the full lane of traffic when there is no bike path. I missed it my first time using the bike. It might be a good idea to include a brief line in the rental screen or the how-to video as well. I’ll continue to use the bikes unless/until I decide to bring my own with me, so I’m looking forward to future improvements!

*** Update***
So the notification was indeed for my bike return, but it only shows that in the text of the notification bubble in the pull down menu. If I were to have cleared my notifications, I would never have seen it. 

Also I returned my bike within 10 minutes of checking it out (saved me a 30 minute walk!) but the return wasn’t registered until ~23 hours later. I hope I’m not charged for all that time, but we’ll see.

No one knows you made this change, clearly. The old app gives no notice to download this one and while the stations have QR codes plastered everywhere there’s no mention it’s a new app.
