Granted I know that Centurylink had their issues, but Brightspeed has been by far worse. Their customer service is contracted overseas and mgmt does not give them updates the information to do their jobs, so whenever a customer calls if it’s relative to something relevant to any updates that they need, customer service will not have the information. Brightspeed lacks transparency. They will gladly take your money, but to get accurate updates regarding fiber optic you will need to call your electricity company and ask for the permitting manager, because Brightspeed will not provide you any updates or honesty. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2025-07-25, version 3.6* Seldom works Whenit does it mostly shuffles you off to their web site. Trying to find anything sends you cycling through where you’re been before. Total waste of time. For a technology company this is disgraceful. Their phone support is worse. Can’t access account on either one. Terrible. Comcast is the sewer but better than this. ### 1/5 — Worse customer service in the industry *2025-07-22, version 3.6* When it works it is good, however if you have an issue with service it takes weeks to months to get a technician out. No one on the phone can help you. They pick random dates and then a technician doesn’t even bother to call you or show up. They say that there are none available but if you call and act like a new customer, they will have someone available for install the same week. ### 1/5 — Never works *2025-07-22, version 3.6* It always needs updating and then won’t open. I have held an account with Brightspeed for 9 months and never been able to change a WiFi password on any of the 3 apps required for one account. Really terrible setup they have. ### 1/5 — Worst company AVOID *2025-07-19* There is not room enough to state all the issues. I have no choice since they are the only fiber optic service available. My recent upgrade has not increased my speed at all. I get emails stating here is July bill after the bill due date has passed. Or I get no bills and my account shows no billing data or payment history. If someone calls my home phone it doesn’t ring but goes directly to some voice mail box I can’t access nor turn off. Internet and home phone go out all the time. Call them and you will lose an hour or two of your life while they tell you things that are flat out wrong, like we have to migrate you off copper when you are already on fiber. It exemplifies how disorganized the company is. When the fiber high speed is running it is smooth and fast and the fiber modems they provide work well. But when there is a problem or an outage you will get very little help.
