Should be able to define your default opening page. This app used to work fine and the content is great if you can get it to play. Would be very good if the video started UNMUTED. Let me mute if I need to since I started the video to watch it. Currently, try to unmute and the whole video stops and won’t play on my iPad where it has worked for years. Netflix, etc. work just fine. Deleted and reinstalled the BrightTalk app to no avail. Suspect this is unique to the iPad version of the app since it works fine on the web. ### 2/5 — Terrible functionality *2024-10-22* Favorites don't sync between devices. Downloads become corrupt. Airplay? Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. Same with screen mirroring. If you want to watch a single Webinar locally on a single device from beginning to end in one sitting, you're OK. One of the best podcast apps I have used has a + and - sign to change speed by .1 increments. I do not believe I am alone in wanting to listen to content at a faster rate. After doing so the app does nothing more than open their list of webinars in a browser. I feel sorry for people who put together content for this. ### 2/5 — Great content, Lousy app *2017-02-16* I love the content from Brighttalk, however the app has serious flaws and has not been updated in more than a year, so there does not appear to be much commitment to improve the app from the vendor. No searching for content within the app, doesn't support landscape mode in many areas, not nearly as convenient as using the website from Safari, so what is the point of the app other than being able (to laboriously) download content for offline playback? Add search functions, support full landscape mode so we aren't switching back & forth, support & update the app regularly, and then it will be useful. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, originally this app was conceived as a companion app for our website -we will be adding search and there is a full UX update planned that should address your concerns. ### 1/5 — Missing features *2016-12-02, version 2.13.0* Please add search and the ability to play audio in the background ### 1/5 — No sound *2016-11-04* The app only plays the audio content over headphones in IOS 10+. This makes it useless to me as I need to sit further from the screen than headphone cables reach. Please fix this and it'll be much better **Developer response:** Many thanks for feeding back - we will update our tests to include testing with wireless speakers. ### 4/5 — Play downloaded videos *2016-10-06, version 2.13.0* "Great - I can download videos offline to watch when commuting" except the downloads can randomly fail without telling you why or of which ones failed. This had led me to believe that it as just incapable of any downloads. But it is. What's annoying is that it forgets (fails to mark) where you left off watching something. It would have been useful if the audience could rate talks, or comment on them. This is not possible. Also I'd like the ability to subscribe to a channel so that it notices new talks and has them downloaded ready for me. ### 2/5 — Good app but *2016-09-26* Brighttalk is a great source for info. The app doesn’t reliably track that you have viewed the content so when you download the viewing certificate it says that you have only viewed 1 minute of the content. ### 1/5 — Unusable. *2025-12-09* I cannot use the app without opting in to selling my information. Not touching this app again with a ten foot pole. ### 1/5 — No CPE credits *2025-12-01* Used to be a great app, but recent changes now only award you 1 minute of viewing time on the certificate. UPDATE: Tested this app on a second iPad and again both had all the latest patches and updates with no VPN on and the unmute issue and playback controls did not work on either iPad. Oftentimes, webcasts are to be found on the interweb after having to login, navigate through numerous pages. This takes too long. With this app, I can download the webcasts to my ipad and/or iphone for later viewing.
