## What is Brihat Mridanga?

Srila Prabhupada, the founder Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), emphasized the importance of book distribution as a key aspect of spreading Krishna consciousness. He believed that distributing transcendental literature was a powerful way to share spiritual knowledge and uplift humanity.
 
He often mentioned that those who distribute books are quickly recognized by Krishna. This recognition is akin to a soldier being honored for their bravery and dedication.
 
Srila Prabhupada encouraged his followers to engage in practical service by distributing books. He saw this as a way to remind devotees of Krishna's lotus feet and keep them absorbed in devotional service.
 
The mission of book distribution was central to ISKCON's activities. Srila Prabhupada translated and wrote commentaries on many Vedic scriptures, and he blessed his disciples who took up the task of distributing these books on a large scale.
