## What is Brillat?

Open the fridge and wonder "what's for dinner?" Snap your fridge or grocery receipt — Brillat finds tonight's plate using what you already have, and explains why it works in one line.

Brillat is an iOS AI chef built on 200 years of gastronomy and the chemistry of flavor.

THE 200-YEAR PROMISE

"Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are."
— Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, 1825

200 years ago, a French gourmand turned eating into a science. Brillat brings that mirror into your kitchen — every day.

HOW IT WORKS

1. SNAP — Photograph your fridge or your last receipt. Brillat extracts ingredients in seconds.
2. MATCH — Recipes ranked by ingredient coverage, expiry urgency, and umami synergy.
3. COOK — Step-by-step instructions with chemistry-grounded heat and timing (Maillard at 140°C, chicken safe at 75°C).
4. LEARN — Tap one feedback tag after each meal. The palate model updates within minutes.

THE CHEMISTRY LAYER

Every recipe shows why it works:
  • Maillard browning at 140°C+ creates the surface umami of seared steak and bread crust
  • Chicken inosinate × soy glutamate amplifies umami by ×7
  • 75°C kills salmonella; 65°C tastes great but has no safety margin
  • Caramelization at 110°C deepens onion sweetness
  • Tomato lycopene absorbs 4× when heated, 2× more with olive oil

YOUR PALATE, LEARNED

Five axes: umami, salt, sweet, fat, spicy. After each meal, one tap tunes the model.
After a few weeks the model becomes a fingerprint sharp enough to predict whether you'll love a recipe before you start.

WASTE, VISUALIZED

Brillat surfaces ingredients about to expire and proposes plates that use them first. The savings tally turns abstract food waste into a number you can feel.

FIRST-CLASS LANGUAGES

English (source), Korean, Japanese. UI, recipes, ingredients, and chemistry notes are all localized.

YOUR PHOTO STAYS YOURS

Photos are uploaded only after in-app consent, processed only by a paid AI inference provider whose terms forbid model training on your data. Raw images are deleted within 24 hours by default. Inventory and learned palate live in your Apple iCloud Private Database — visible only to you.

No advertising SDKs. No cross-app tracking. No HealthKit access.
