Luckily for me when this happens I’m just trying to look at past transactions to figure out bills but if I were in a pinch and trying to move money from savings to checking this would be a major problem. Just wondering why this happens. Can’t use it like I could before. What gives? ### 2/5 — $1.50 every single time you use it. *2022-04-13, version 6.2* This is a netspend card rebranded with the Brinks logo. Sure, it does what any other prepaid card does just fine I suppose. However, the fees are astronomical. An additional $1.50 is added as a service charge EVERY TIME YOU USE THE CARD. Doesn’t sound like much now. It adds up, quickly. There are also massive fees for withdrawing cash anywhere. And electronic purchases. Etc. etc. If you can find a card service with lower fees, for the love of God, take that option instead. ### 1/5 — Avoid unless rich *2022-02-02, version 6.2* I live on under $200 per month. This app advertises a 2% charge for cashing checks . They charged me $5.00 . They gave me a code to get a $10.00 credit with the first transaction of putting money on the card . I did not get it . There wasn’t even any way to enter the code during the process. They charge $1.50 for each transaction made with the card . Imagine that being charged to someone who has as little money as I do and who has to make as many small purchases as I do . They will end up collecting near 1/4 of my monthly income just to use there card. They do not respond to emails. This months meager PA State Employee Retirement check will be the last I use this card when the funds are gone , which thanks to their service won’t last long. I recently received my final check on a brinks pay card and this is the fourth day I’ve been trying to reach someone from customer support, calling and including also sending emails but my issue has not been resolved. The support emails just remind you to download their app. The app itself reminds you to download the app. I’m trying to gain access to my money and there’s no way to do so as of now. Don’t let these scammers see a penny of your money. They have a promotion going on that is completely false advertisement. They say if you refer a friend and they activate their card and load 40$ then you both get 20$. My profile shows my fiancé signing up with my referral and she loaded 70$ onto her card with cash. We did everything perfectly as the promotion states. We have called numerous times and the customer service is absolutely horrendous. None of the employees know how to do their job. Let alone know how their own promotions refer a friend bonus actually works. They can’t even go to their own website and read the rules I guess. Then we talk to the manager/ team leader and he has no customer service skills and is telling us my fiancé did not load money on her card and that’s why. We then correct him and tell him the exact date and time that she did in fact load it and then he tells us, oh yeah your right sorry I was just looking at her most recent transaction. Their promotion states within two business days you will see the bonus in your account. The “Team Leader” proceeds to tell us within 30 days.” And then hangs up. Well it’s been well over 30 days neither me or my fiancé have received our bonus even though it’s says we completed it. BOTTOM LINE BRINKS MONEY IS A SCAM FULL OF FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE FTC AND SUED. They charge 2.50$ for any transfer of funds you make as well. Weather it’s to your pay pal or CashApp or anything. I wish I never would have signed up for this terrible company. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2025-11-03, version 6.8.1* This is one of the worst banking apps and platform ever. They charged me way too many fees and when i called the customer service line they acted as if i was crazy just for them to later send me a letter saying they owe me money for charging fees incorrectly. The app takes me on a loop giving me an error saying I’ll need to download the Brinks Money All Access app and when I click it, it takes me to the App Store to open an app THAT IS ALREADY INSTALLED ON MY PHONE over and over again. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled. No change. I get my Social Security checks direct deposited into my account anywhere from 5 to 3 days earlier than everyone else. Seriously that’s my favorite feature. I’m now on the Brinks all access and really like the other features they offer plus the overdraft ( which let’s face it has saved my butt a time or two.) Now don’t get me wrong all the fees I was paying out was killing me at first that was until I switched my monthly plan fee over to just a flat rate of $5.00. It totally cuts out being charged $2.50 here or $1.00 there for just using it as debit or credit. There’s still atm fees, but if you go to a grocery store you can get cash back and not have to pay Brink’s atm fee plus the other bank’s atm fee too. I actually got my husband to switch over to Brink’s too and he is loving it. Our traditional bank we were using was just taking money from us left and right and seriously got tired of all the b.s. I had to endure from them.
