### 2/5 — App keeps on crashing

*2025-04-13, version 1.7.3*

Every time you click on any tile, the app crashes.

### 2/5 — INFANTILE APP !

*2023-11-07, version 1.6.3*

Starting from the basic and very boring logo, (I used to design in college 23 years ago)… c’mon guys we’re in XXI century, jazz it up asap!

Like anything government, specially websites; it’s not very user friendly, over complicated and some features don’t really work ‘cause of these.

You must hire a design consultant, then a developer (not a government big brick-head, wannabe developer, trying to be a part-time designer)😉

Think of your target audience, not impress the boss, ‘cause he’ll never use it!

### 2/5 — Like a notification

*2023-07-09, version 1.5.0*

Unable to like anything that was sent as a notification from the app

### 2/5 — Not user-friendly

*2023-03-15*

I SO wanted this app to be easy to use because Brisbane has so much going on, but alas, it just doesn’t do it for me. I want to search activities by day only (Wednesdays) and can’t seem to filter that, or at least I couldn’t find out how to do it. Being a busy mum I need something simple and easy to use, unfortunately this ain’t that… yet!

### 3/5 — Zomato Doesn’t work

*2023-02-10, version 1.4.1*

Zomato is no longer available in Australia. So that link won’t work.

### 3/5 — App logo… sexy it up please

*2022-11-01*

Yet to use the app… but sounds like a fantastic app!! BUT… come on guys… surely marketing can come up with something more sexier / enticing than a boring blue font on a white background … this is an app about amazing restaurants, bars, social haunts right? Make me feel like I’ll miss out. And make me want to recommend the app… yeah? We all judge a book by its cover (even those that say they don’t…) and even more so those days. Make the B hot pink or purple? Currently looks like an app for a boring library event or somewhere random to catch a bus…

### 4/5 — Park photos

*2022-09-24*

To who it may concern. I really like the Brisbane app but would love to see pictures of the parks. It would be good if people can upload photos of the parks when they visit then so we can see what they look like. Because being able to see what it looks like before people go would be good.

### 3/5 — Great idea but not ideal for Apple

*2022-08-07*

Love the idea but it never works on my iPhone, but works fine on my google phone.

It lags so much and doesn’t load on an iPhone. Works perfectly fine on google phone. I don’t get it. It’s frustrating

### 3/5 — App Errors

*2022-06-26, version 1.2.0*

Cannot submit an error report. Times out with an error. There’s a restaurant located at Manly but shown on the map in Brisbane City. Oops!!

### 3/5 — Tweaks needed but still worthwhile!

*2022-06-20*

Please add the ability to view events on a map!

The ability to filter events by what’s close-by would be fabulous if users could set their own parameters (what I think is “close” is obviously very different haha).

Events are the best part of this app as other information is mostly info you can get from Google Maps. I would encourage council to cultivate this aspect of the app to drive up engagement.

Otherwise I can see myself using this app a lot. I look forward to future versions!

### 2/5 — Needs more

*2022-05-10*

As a local I would use this app if I could select a date and see what events are happening that day. The events section only appears to have a ‘see all events’ option where you scroll through events and most appear to be Council wellness events. It would be great if you could choose a date and category eg live music, art exhibits etc. I would regularly check the app if it had this feature.

### 2/5 — Can’t edit guide

*2022-04-18*

I want to create my own guide of places I visit which are dog friendly. I submitted it with the minimum 2 places required assuming I could update it as I go but I can’t! As a brisbane local this feels like a huge oversight. I would love to be able to add more places after I already submit a guide as I am constantly coming across new places

### 4/5 — The app Brisbane needed

*2022-01-30*

So far I’m enjoying this app. Such a great idea. I look forward to this app growing and growing. The only thing I would love to see is a version for the iPad, as I use my iPad more and more, it make sense to have an iPad version for the big screens.

### 1/5 — Specials and sales - where?

*2021-11-10*

Advertising in council newsletters states that businesses can upload ‘specials and sales’. Can you provide examples of businesses that have done this please as I cannot find any. Do I need to click on each dot by dot on the map?

This seems to be quite a pointless app, not sure how it is any different to google maps? Just an extra place for businesses to add their opening hours?

### 2/5 — Good idea, poor execution

*2021-11-04, version 1.0.4*

I thought this would be a great little app to find things to see & do around Brisbane but it’s basically a poor cousin to Weekend Edition. Unimpressed.

### 1/5 — Waste of Rate payer money

*2021-11-03, version 1.0.4*

Confusing and pointless duplication of information/advertising.
The is costing us 4 million dollars which could have been spent on more useful things.

### 2/5 — Needs a lot of work

*2021-10-30, version 1.0.4*

I wanted to love this app. But it has a long way to go to being useful.

It would be great if you could display all the free council activities in a section.
And have another tab to look for events for specific target audience (I.e family friendly, ages 50+).

I’m sure over time the app will get better, but at the moment I prefer to just use the council website/Facebook and google searches.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-02-23, version 1.7.1*

This app is so flawed - a waste of public money. So many out of date listings. So many pieces of council comms, but nothing of actual use. Delete. Delete. Delete.

### 1/5 — Won’t open on iPhone

*2022-10-03, version 1.2.4*

Doesn’t open on iPhone, just perpetually loads. Until you eventually get the error message - ‘an error occurred while loading data necessary for the app to launch’. I can see someone else has previously posted this feedback, so it clearly isn’t being addressed.
Unusable.

### 1/5 — Can’t even open the app

*2022-08-06, version 1.2.1*

Says to download the app for deals and it won’t even open just says “an error occurred while loading data necessary for the app to launch” just tried for 8 mins to open multiple times

### 1/5 — $4.1 million for this app

*2022-05-27, version 1.1.1*

Adrian Schrinner is such a joke

### 1/5 — Waste of public money

*2022-05-10*

The app is designed okay and the content is arranged in a visually appealing way but it seems to be utterly pointless when you can get literally all of the information on the app more easily from Google?

Why has Brisbane City Council wasted so much money making this app and over $2 million on advertising it? Who are all the stooges giving it 5 stars?

Completely wasteful and pointless.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2022-04-28, version 1.1.1*

Search function by date simply doesn’t work. I know the date of an event but cannot find it in this app. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Free advertising

*2022-03-19, version 1.0.8*

The majority of information is on businesses rather than Brisbane city council related material and community activities or events. Very disappointing. I don’t want my rates going towards free advertising for businesses but towards services for the community.

### 1/5 — Why did Brisbane waste its money on this??

*2022-01-24, version 1.0.7*

Nothing fantastic, glitchy, no great information. All the hype for literally nothing. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Why do my rates pay for this?

*2021-12-18, version 1.0.6*

Mainly seems to be advertising for businesses with little info on Council services. Disappointed that my rates have paid for this.

### 1/5 — iPad Full Screen Lacking

*2021-11-26, version 1.0.6*

Not optimised for iPad… please fix

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 🇦🇺 the Brisbane app 🇦🇺

*2026-02-12*

I think it can change Brisbane by keeping it the same or changing it because of the app where you can like Brisbane. and the Queensland government can then change our community. you can give it stars in Love hearts in the same way, but they’re the same thing.

### 5/5 — Easy Way to Explore Brissy!

*2021-11-04*

Love the new Brisbane app, it makes finding new places, attractions, parks, cycling routes, and hidden gems a charm!

However, it would be great to see more information available for each of the different places. A simple ‘open in Google/Apple Maps’ would be good enough, or even just the ability to see more photos, opening times, etc about each place than just the 1 image and description currently available.

### 5/5 — My Go-To App for Everything

*2021-10-14*

I always thought google was best for finding out where to eat and what to do but then I downloaded the Brisbane app and it’s made my everything a whole lot easier - whether it’s finding events to fill my Friday night or places to eat.

**Developer response:** Hi Rhi – thankyou so much for your great feedback! We are so glad you are enjoying the App as much as we are.

### 5/5 — Love this city and this app

*2021-10-05, version 1.0.3*

So good for people who want to explore Brisbane, keep things fresh, and support local businesses!

### 5/5 — APP is great, but

*2021-09-29, version 1.0.3*

When I logged in with my facebook account, I found the app name is azure-b2c-bnecc as a App’s name. Please rename it ASAP.

### 5/5 — (Re)discover Brisbane!

*2021-09-28, version 1.0.3*

Great app for ideas for the family or plan a night out with friends….or date night with hubby! Love it!

### 5/5 — Superb!

*2021-09-24, version 1.0.2*

What a fantastic resource for the fantastic city of Brisbane! An incredible app that all world class cities should have. Love it!

### 5/5 — Everything in One Place

*2021-09-23*

Love the App - gives a great overview of everything that’s worth seeing and doing in Brisbane - great to browse and see what you can do

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you are enjoying the app!

### 5/5 — Everything you need in one spot!

*2021-09-20, version 1.0.1*

This is a great app for easily finding things to see and do in Brisbane!

### 4/5 — Ios18 icon support please

*2024-11-01, version 1.7.2*

iOS 18
