I’ve tried to just take off auto renew but seems that’s not possible, you have to just cancel membership which I’ve still 6 months left. Why should I lose access for 6 months for wanting to cancel it when what I’ve paid for runs out? Seems like a scam to me; no need to make it difficult. ### 4/5 — Could be so good *2026-04-20* In Wales in spring 2026, and found few suitable options. Some closed, some small vans only, and some just sounded poor. Needs more content / sites to be of value (especially for £44 a year). Will not renewing. ### 2/5 — Auto Renew catch *2026-01-31* I was hoping that Brit Stops would have options in city centres for overnight stops but struggled to find anywhere suitable so it didn’t work for us. App usability to search for locations is also poor. After a year of not using any Brit Stop locations it auto renewed without any prior notice, which I did not appreciate. However, within a week of cancelling my membership I received a full refund. Credit to them for responding and refunding quickly. We have started using Britstops following buying our 2nd MH and thought we would give it a go. What a great app… used it a few times now on this trip to Wales and it has come up trumps every time. We’ve found a few pubs that when you go onto them are no longer open and have been told of others that are Brit stop hosts that aren’t on the app. Very hard to plan but the pubs we have been to on here have been really great, thanks **Developer response:** Thank you for letting us know. I’ve seen so many places and met so many people all For the price of a pint or a meal. Remember people, it might seem expensive buying a meal at a pub, but offset that with the price of food, cooking and washing up and it actually is a bargain. Thank you Brit stops! I have contacted them via email also but they keep trying to take the new subscription. I’ve had to contact my bank to stop them. I’m not alone in this. Look at the reviews!!! ### 1/5 — Auto Renew catch *2026-01-26, version 6.1.0* Used it but struggled to find stops near city centres or places we visit. Then after a year it auto renewed - without any prior notice - costing £44. Poor practice. Have cancelled with 360 days of a 365 day service remaining. Will request a refund. ### 1/5 — Britstops doesn’t stop *2025-10-13* Never really used the service and was just curious. most stops appear to be just pubs, which often let you stay if you buy a meal. However, buyer beware of the autorenew con , which doesn’t stop, as Britstops keeps taking money even if you don’t use the app. the Cancel button is buried deep in the membership menu and doesn’t appear in the apple subscription tab on your phone like other services subscribed too. Worse still if you cancel a couple of days after the auto renew is dues you get another whole year of misery as they don’t off refunds. Very poor service. It says it’s unauthenticated & buffers. If you have a camper van and want to try different stops for free or very little then ideal. You never really know what you’re going to get but other people’s reviews help. Think the only trouble is there are some super pubs, stay in the car park and have a great meal plus a couple of drinks and you have spent more than a camp site! But then you would need food on top of camp site fees anyway! Excellent way to experience different places. I enjoyed the meal made from local produce, and was pleasantly surprised by how lively it was for a Sunday night, due to 70s music played with vinyl records.
