But the price has since gone $70 a year to $125 a year. The shows are ok. For the pricing, I took my niece to My Chemical Ronace at Soldier Field in Chicago. This year, we’re going to Riot Fest. And we’re not paying obnoxious streaming charges to do it🤪 ### 2/5 — no autoplay *2026-08-11, version 2.7.3* autoplay will not work no matter what i do. really hard to get a good binge sesh in when you have to keep manually selecting the next episode. really harshing my mellow ### 4/5 — Premier package options *2026-07-29, version 2.7.3* I love BritBox...its the 1st app i run and open everyday to watch or see whats added or coming soon...My only complaint like many others i am seeing now is for the PREMIER PACKAGE....I dont think its fair that its only as a Yearly option n not monthly and we who dont have pkg have to wait a whole week to week to watch the episodes...that is absolutely crazy ...and ive just recently noticed few new shows available that u have to have pkg to watch n dont see them in the coming soon or if are its like a 1-2 month wait from dates i see under episodes(again insane) Really hope Britbox is taking the paying viewers requests about Premier seriously and it happens..ahhh esp too instead of the monthly price increase i receive ...ive had 4 increases in approx 12-15 months...thats not right esp w/this premier situation..for $$ payed should b getting Premier !! However, the actual app is poor and hard to navigate. I liked a lot of your original programming. I do not like the fact that to unlock your entire catalogue of shows one must pay the annual premier price of $149.99. So poor folk, like myself, that pay monthly only get access to half of your shows. A tiny fraction of BBC content is on the app, and now there is even less available due to the introduction of a “premium” tier. App navigation is also quite clunky. Needs a setting to turn off autoplay of next episode. ### 3/5 — Disappointing *2026-06-05, version 2.7.1* The app is a disappointment with clunky navigation. It appears to be temperamental on all devices, often freezing or crashing. One of the most annoying features is what happens at the end of a show. Instead of the navigation automatically going to the next episode, it will often pick some random past episode. Why? The latest issue is the app popping up a notice to enter your Apple password. Oh yeah right, like anyone would give you that. Get stuffed! I can’t decide if the app has been hacked due to poor security or someone over at Britbox is trying to scam customers. Note to users: when you see the pop-up demanding your Apple password, DO NOT enter it. Press cancel and the app will continue to function in its normal yet poorly designed way. This appears to apply to all versions: iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS. ### 2/5 — Signing in? *2026-06-05, version 2.7.1* Why do I have to sign in every single time with a password???? Even a 5 minute bathroom break??? This is ridiculous!!! ### 3/5 — Message to sign into Apple account *2026-06-04, version 2.7.1* After opening app there is a sign into Apple account dialogue box. It happens on the latest IPhone and IPad app. ### 1/5 — Great shows awful app *2026-06-03, version 2.7.1* Fix it or lose customers. Never had so much stress with an app. My Bluetooth headphones don’t allow me to pause or play show. I have to physically touch the screen for these commands - iPad. This is an isolated issue only with britbox. All other apps my headphones are fully functional. If I clicked play or pause headphones would play iTunes even when it wasn’t open and while Britbox was still playing. Again not an issue on other streaming apps. I deleted iTunes to avoid the issue when I click pause/play out of habit. I tried the troubleshooting suggestions with no luck only anger that I am wasting time and energy attempting a work around for something I pay service for. Fix your app don’t tell me how to stand on my head to try to fix your app problem. I tried logging in to the web to watch. Play and pause worked but picture wasn’t as good and I inadvertently deleted a few shows in my watchlist. This was due to trying to click on show in watchlist it wouldn’t play but had an x in the box that somehow removed show instead of playing when u clicked in box. Thought I was smart getting more content directly from Britbox instead of the Amazon add on. Instead I’m furious. Have delayed calling customer service to avoid being angry with more attempts to fix what I shouldn’t have to fix. Such great intellectual content. Get your app and streaming to catch up with it. ### 3/5 — Good content, terrible app *2026-06-03, version 2.7.1* The app is glitchy and often has problems. Usually logging out or deleting and reinstalling can fix it, but not always. Contacting help/support is disappointing. They cannot do anything and any they will get back to you I. 49 hours, while billing for service. Ugh. ### 1/5 — Constant Crashing, constant harassment *2026-05-30, version 2.6.9* If I chose one particular plan maybe it’s what I could afford. I don’t need to be reminded over and over to UPGRADE. It’s not helping that the damned app crashes right after and sometimes during an episode. It’s expensive enough why should I constantly having to skip ads. ### 1/5 — Adequate, just. *2026-08-11, version 2.7.3* This review is for the app., not the content. Slow, clunky and resource hungry. Requires about 4GB of free space to download a 700MB episode. This is not an issue I have on other apps. I fly a lot, so I rely on downloads a fair bit. The end result is that I use one of the other apps instead. If I struggle to download stuff, there really is no point having it. As an example, I just tried downloading an episode of a series I’m watching on BritBox and was denied due to lack of space (episode was about 680MB which is a bit excessive but shouldn’t have mattered). I then went to Disney and downloaded 7 episodes of a couple of shows (totalling about 2GB) and still haven’t reached my limit of free space! Edit I wrote the above perhaps a year ago, maybe more. Things have not improved. In actual fact they have got worse. I can no longer download any content at all (most up to date version installed). The little circle that should fill does not move at all. Even after half an hour, nothing. This is the most horrendous streaming app. known to mankind. Edit After a few months of not being able to download, that side of things is now resolved. Unfortunately the app is still garbage. Constant closing and reopening of the app is required. Then because of that, it’s forgotten where you were up to and will send you back to the start - it shouldn’t, but that’s what it does. On top of that, it’s lost the ability to cast to my tv. Words cannot describe how truly awful this app is. Edit. A few more months down the track and nothing has improved. I have to reboot my iPad just to download anything. Still one of the clunkiest apps around. Downloading is a mission, never remembers where you were up to. This has resulted in them promoting shows on various platforms & newsletters that only give you the first few episodes free. Now being subjected to constant adds saying I’m not a good enough customer and have to pay “extra” for the ability to see ‘future’ episodes… now we have notices to enter our password every two minutes. You can cancel out and nothing happens, which makes their tech support rep’s claim it’s Apple’s fault absurd- Apple doesn’t need this information for the app to function. Again, love BritBox! ### 5/5 — Use You Phone BEFORE Your TV *2026-05-12, version 2.6.8* I was going crazy trying to create my new BritBox account through the Apple TV App and needed to do it through my iPhone app. The TV App had odd behaviors when I attempted to input a decent password and Create the Account, but the iPhone app worked just fine.
