### 4/5 — Try to know more English

*2023-02-03*

I am the beginner of studying English and hope to know local people words

### 4/5 — Why no search capability or alphabetization?

*2022-08-13*

I’m an American who watches a lot of British shows on tv, and I may misunderstand the plots if I don’t have immediate access to English slang while watching the broadcasts. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Sort of right

*2020-10-20*

Yer a chav int a child mate. We say some of these things but some are stuff me gran would say

### 4/5 — Factually inaccurate but funny

*2020-07-20*

I am from near London and I never hear a lot of these words and the ones I do hear, they are the wrong definition. Despite all this, it’s funny to see what this app thinks the definitions are.

### 2/5 — No search capability

*2019-05-10*

Apparently all you can do is scroll through the list of words which are in no apparent order.

### 2/5 — I’m English and from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

*2019-05-08*

I live in central London and you nearly ever Hear these words being said they are not common words here

### 2/5 — Disappointing.

*2016-12-04*

This is set up like a lesson for school children. It lists a few words. Unfortunately, you can't write in a slang word and find out what it means. If you just want to think you're cute because you know a few words, this is great. If you travel and want to look up slang definitions, forget this app.

### 3/5 — Its ok!

*2016-07-14, version 2.2.2*

Can you please also include a audio to understand the correct pronunciation of the words. Thanks

### 1/5 — Stereotypical or What

*2016-05-29, version 2.2.2*

Out of the 100's of word I looked at on here I would only use about 5 of them. One of which was football which in its self isn't British slang as most nations in the world call it football even to the point where the governing body is called FIFA (Fédération Internationale de FOOTBALL Association). I mean can you really call it slang if the governing body is really uses the word. It's clear that the slang there is soccer as only the Americans use that term

### 3/5 — Alright

*2016-05-10*

Certainly slangs are like slagging off some words in a boozer. I wouldn't say it's a wicked app in comparison with the others but I'm not dischuffed. Pretty enough for learning common British slangs.

### 4/5 — Bloody Good app!

*2015-12-28*

So I'm kind of an anglophobe and I really wanted to learn more British words, so this app was perfect for me. I like how it gives you any random word, although it would be nice if it had a search bar too. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the adds. The adds pop up and cover the entire screen and you have to stare at them for at least 5 seconds, it does this quite frequently. And since I am not paying $3 just to remove adds I just have to deal with them.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Full of inappropriate words

*2023-01-01*

Shame on the creator to include adult content words when the app is intended for children 12 and over

### 1/5 — Nearly useless without ability to SEARCH

*2022-10-31*

Did I miss something?…I tapped everywhere and could not find a search box. Forced to scroll endlessly using arrows. Absolutely cannot recommend…but bravo to the developer for finding a clever way to get a Brit fan to spend USD $2.99. Me the dummy, but you the fraudster

### 1/5 — British slang

*2022-03-26*

I agree you can’t search for words

### 1/5 — Bad terrible bigoted ignorant

*2020-08-06*

Probably the most inaccurate app ever - complete disservice to UK linguistics

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2020-08-03*

You can’t search for a specific word, making this app worthless for anything other than entertainment!

### 1/5 — Derogatory app

*2019-09-28, version 2.4.0*

Some of the words featured are generally harmless, however when a playful app such as this starts using words like ‘slut’ & ‘slapper’ it’s no longer playful & becomes something this generation could probably do without!

The creator of this app needs to have a word with himself!

### 1/5 — Rubbish!

*2019-01-14*

This Could be a good app if you could search, And if there were many more words and phrases. I would Love to find an English to American dictionary, of sorts.

### 1/5 — Basically useless

*2018-06-30*

Unless you simply want to scroll through words or phrases, this app is useless. Cannot search which is what I’d been seeking. Deleting now.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2018-02-20*

Well, I scrolled through a few words, screenshot the ones I liked, and then deleted the app. I thought this would be helpful in the expanse of my British vocabulary, but not so. There's no way to search for the words I want to know. Instead, they give me random words, some of which were somewhat useful, and some of which were very crude; I just don't need or care to know that junk. So, I say, I scrolled through some words until I'd had enough, screenshot the ones I liked, and then deleted the app.

### 1/5 — Much not slang, just Standard British English, the Queens English!

*2016-07-29, version 2.2.2*

Not only is the presentation of words random, and there doesn't seem to be a way to look up the meaning of words, much of the so called slang is standard British English, as one finds in "The" dictionary of English, the Oxford English Dictionary. Very sloppy and not worth the time, and likely to cause embarrassment to anyone who tries to use it as a language guide in the UK. Horrible!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent Rating, man!

*2026-04-15, version 2.4.0*

I’m now learning how to use a Cockney accent, especially when I’m speaking the King’s (or The Queen’s) English, or United Kingdom English, to sound just like an Afro-British American royal, who just happened 2 be born in North Philadelphia, but I had 2 move from Southwest Philadelphia to Delaware County, to Collingdale, Pennsylvania, 19023, @101 Pusey Avenue! It’s a bleeding but smashing idea for me 2 become an interpreter for the United Nations (UN), and I hope that I can really recommend this to my family and friends who are interested in getting this app, anyways! I can learn 2 say, “You’re the one who has been riding the bloody crazy train, but I’m the Black Prince of Darkness ever since I was born on October 21st, 1984! You bleeding idiot!!!” “The name’s Bond. Flames Bond!” And so on and so forth, you bloody bloke!!!
