### 2/5 — Ok but could be better

*2026-07-25, version 1.6.62*

The lights work great but the app needs improvement. The timer constantly resets so if you don’t log into the app once in a while the lights won’t operate as programmed. Would love to see more programmable options. Overall the app needs improvement.

### 3/5 — Timing

*2026-07-21, version 1.6.62*

The app does work and Controll the lights but I try to have it set to come on at dark and go off at say 2am and it will work for a few days then goes back to being on 24 hours a day and no updates to fix this issue nor any contact back

### 2/5 — Music function

*2026-05-22, version 1.6.58*

Requires music saved to your phone (purchased through iTunes) stops playing if the lock screen comes on

### 2/5 — Dan

*2026-05-05, version 1.6.58*

Lights easy to connect on the app but they won’t connect to Alexa if they connect to is will be a 5 star review

### 3/5 — DIY, app preference, music

*2026-02-12, version 1.6.56*

The lights are great and very responsive but there is a slight problem. In the modes section, the DIY flash/fade should have more colours(a colour wheel would be perfect!), because we are stuck with the same boring 6 colours. Speaking of colours, i would add DIY colours/presets so you don’t have to make your own constantly. I would also recommend adding a dark mode for the APP so it meets everyone’s satisfaction. It would also be nice for BRMESH to be able to use other apps other than apple music (spotify, soundcloud etc). Hope my message gets read and taken into consideration! Thanks

### 3/5 — OK but….

*2026-01-02, version 1.6.56*

The actual lights themselves are fantastic. The issue with these lights is the accompanying app is terrible. Why can’t you have the lights go on certain days instead of the everyday option? The whole app seems to be of a 2000 vintage. Put more options into the app and you got a great product.

### 2/5 — Unreliable

*2025-12-28, version 1.6.56*

App stops working after a period of time. Tried all the processes such as reinstalling and pairing. App is unresponsive. Poor quality software

### 3/5 — Not bad needs some updates

*2025-12-01*

The app overall has potential. Easy to use but needs some basic features added. One the color wheel needs to be added to DIY modes. Two music and rhythm tabs need functions to adjust speed and sensitivity to the music not just fast flashing no matter the speed of the song. Groups need a setting button to set the entire group for timing. If these features get added especially the music sync improvements it would be a 5 star app.

### 2/5 — Needs Updates!!!

*2025-11-12*

In the section “modes” I can’t edit the logo. Therefore I need to read each one and determine which one it is. Upload NEW SHOWSSS!!! The lights are capable, it’s the software that needs to update. Shows that include turning light off and on, turning one light at a time, etc. look at govee to see what you’re competing against. Also being able to record your own shows. In the scenes section, it doesn’t allow me to use flash or fade. I want one light to fade and the one next to be still to create a show. I want to be able to control it!!! Thanks hopefully you read this. The lights are AMAZING! The software is not good. Please update. Thank you for reading and hopefully you take my feedback into consideration.

### 3/5 — App needs more features

*2025-11-08, version 1.6.56*

This app needs to have a schedule for sunrise and sunset rather than a basic clock. As seasons change, these times change too much and is annoying.

### 2/5 — Can’t select custom colors

*2025-10-29, version 1.6.56*

You can not choose custom color for DIY modes. You only have the colors selected, the color wheel does not populate.

### 3/5 — Would be higher rating if app had a few improvements

*2025-10-29, version 1.6.56*

Really do like these, used to some cool outdoor scenes. The app kinda sucks BUT CONSIDER THIS: What we realllllly need in the app is the ability to use custom colours in the diy scenes (fade etc!)! They only give a option of 6 basic blah colours and white. That would make the product a lot more useful. Thanks

### 1/5 — Signal

*2025-10-27, version 1.6.56*

I’m only a few steps away from the device but signal can’t reach from my phone to adjust lighting.

### 1/5 — App issue

*2025-10-26, version 1.6.56*

This is absolutely terrible that the app will not download. Absolutely useless.

### 2/5 — Offloaded and not cannot install

*2025-10-22, version 1.6.56*

I had this app for a while and used it for the lights. And this was occasional so today when I checked on the app, it was offloaded. When I tried to download this, it just won’t download. I have tried other apps that were offloaded as well and had no trouble with them.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stopped working. No Fix

*2026-07-13, version 1.6.61*

It stopped working with Alexa. It used to be able tk find it. Cannot re-pair, cannot be found, cannot pair skill app, all support for failure instructions don’t work.

### 1/5 — Suddenly Not Working

*2026-05-31, version 1.6.58*

Several of my lights are suddenly not working and requiring that I reconnect/re-pair them with my app. They were working perfectly fine with the timers and compatible motion sensors, but suddenly more than half of my lights just stopped working. I’ve refreshed WiFi, toggled switches on the wall - it just doesn’t work! Not the first time this has happened!

### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Work - At. All.

*2026-02-13, version 1.6.56*

Can open the app and add the light. All attempts to add Siri Shortcuts fail except for Set to gold. Message windows pop up that they’re set. Message windows flash. Nothing happens. This is the whole reason for buying the lamp - having an app that doesn’t work makes the entire purchase useless.

Also, doesn’t work with Google. Really weird that it will (not) work with Alexa and Siri, but not Google. Better quality control maybe? Not impressed.

### 1/5 — Lack of Alexa connection

*2026-02-05, version 1.6.56*

This app sucks, it’s really bad, confusing and there’s no Alexa connection for your lights.

### 1/5 — App is unresponsive

*2026-01-11, version 1.6.56*

Once I set the schedule for on and off I can not remotely connect to my lights to alter the schedule as daylight savings approaches. The query timing message continually searches with not results.

### 1/5 — iOS 26.X

*2025-12-27, version 1.6.56*

Used to work well but I’m guessing with the latest iOS updates some functionality has been lost. Add to Siri options don’t work. I know it’s important to have shortcuts app installed and working and I do as I use it for many daily routines but the button in the app to “add to Siri” doesn’t add anything to Siri. Unfortunate!

### 1/5 — Timer

*2025-12-12, version 1.6.56*

Timer settings get turned off automatically

### 1/5 — Sharing to other device problem

*2025-12-10, version 1.6.56*

I’m trying to share the thing in my parent phone and the QR code don’t work pls fix it

### 1/5 — Great lights - TERRIBLE APP

*2025-11-08, version 1.6.56*

We love these lights so much, I bought 3 sets! They light up our trees so beautifully! They are a great addition to any yard and an even better bonus is they add to your seasonal decor!
They are awesome lights.
But… the app sucks!

When you try to change the start and end times for each light, it freezes after 2 lights. It says “querying timing” and won’t move beyond that screen

When making your own custom program, you only have6 colors to choose from. Why not allow the full spectrum of colors? The lights are capable of, so why not allow the gradient scale so we can choose which shade we want?

When you click on each light, it should show you which program it’s on color wise.

I also wish there were many more programs, and more control within the programmed settings.

They are so close to being perfect, but the app holds them back.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t support sharing, can’t use either Alexa

*2025-11-01*

This app is ridiculously limited. I bought a bunch of lights. The first room has 12 recessed lights in the vaulted ceiling. First of all, ONLY ONE person can control the lights from their phone. I bought these and was mislead that we could use either our phones or Alexa - 9 people live here. Nope, you only get one phone for controlling them.

The light ads clearly show multiple rooms lit up, using controls, etc. They purposely hide that you can only share SIX bulbs with others in the home. Is this a joke??

You cannot pair it with Alexa. I have the Alexa app on my phone, and an Alexa thermostat in this same room. SURPRISE, it’s only compatible with one or two Alexa devices.

Ridiculously misleading and wasted money on re-lumping my home. Literally nothing to do but document this, throw boxes of new lights in the trash, and make sure the rest of the internet sees my reviews everywhere these are sold.

I was scammed into purchasing these and they were clearly falsely advertised.

### 5/5 — Great lights, app is great but could AWESOME

*2026-04-14, version 1.6.57*

Great app! Does the basic things and connects quickly and easily to the lights with lighting responsiveness! I have no idea why this app has gotten so much hate.

There are some things that could be added that could make the lights more versatile and truly take the experience to the next level. The lights themselves are physically able to do it, it just needs the right software.

Suggestions:
It would be amazing if the lights could connect directly to Spotify allowing them to sync more accurately with the beat of the music. While the microphone mode does work, it also picks up background noise, which can throw off the timing and responsiveness.

I’d also love to see a few more control features added to enhance the overall experience:
	•	A manual strobe button that lets you trigger a strobe effect on demand, then easily turn it off. This would be perfect for dramatic musical moments, similar to how many DJs use strobes for emphasis.
	•	More strobe color options, including shades like orange, dark green, and other vibrant or moody tones—not just the standard white or primary colors. This would add a lot of flexibility for setting the mood or matching a theme.
	•	Fade in and fade out controls so the lights don’t just turn on or off abruptly, but instead transition smoothly.
	•	Chase or sequential strobe modes that create movement by having the strobe effect travel through the lights in a pattern—around the room or across zones—instead of flashing all at once. This would create a more dynamic and engaging lighting effect.
• More fade and flash slots. Only 7 is hard to work with. Technically, you could create a Chase or Carousel effect but there are not enough slots.

Adding these features would take the lighting system to the next level and open up tons of creative possibilities!

### 5/5 — Lumière extérieur

*2025-12-05, version 1.6.56*

Éclairé père Noël

### 5/5 — Use a smart switch

*2025-11-19*

I’m lucky enough to get these off auction websites after Halloween. I see a lot of reviews regarding not being able to download the app onto a child’s device or not being able to control them from multiple phones. If this is an issue, get smart plugs (I recommend Kasa). The lights maintain whatever color you last set them to whenever they are turned on.

### 5/5 — Works on my Phone 🙂

*2025-10-25*

The app works fine. You’ll want a better Bluetooth radio on your device. iPhone 16 Pro Max works fine. If it’s not working for you then your radio is not great. Read a little about Bluetooth maybe - it works best within line of sight. If you have metal structures like bars, meshes, or other items that skew 2.4Ghz signals (think WiFi and old cordless phones) you are gonna have problems. You can’t blame the app if your BT mobile device is awful. That’s a you problem. Feedback for developers: consider also a programmable fade effect instead of just flashing.

### 5/5 — Great lights, app is great but could AWESOME

### 5/5 — Multi function LED control.

*2025-10-10*

I purchased four Melpo 30W multi color flood lights and was very disappointed to find that most controllers were subscription based. The annual costs easily exceeded what I paid for the flood lights. I was very pleased to find the BRmesh did not seem to require a subscription and it offers full control over LED features, selecting from 16 million colors, dimming, timing, brightness, flashing, timing and more. The app does everything I wanted to control smoothly and without lag time using Bluetooth. Plus, you can meet multiple lights together, I think over 100 units for simultaneous control. We’ll done!

### 5/5 — Great so far!

*2025-08-01, version 1.6.55*

I have NO idea why this app has gotten so much hate! So far the app and lights have worked great! The app takes a little getting used to, but once you learn it and learn where everything is at, it’s great! The lights paired easily and reconnected smoothly even after being unplugged! Love it!

Suggestions:
It would be great if the lights could connect directly to Spotify or similar music apps, so they can sync more precisely with the beat of the music. The built-in microphone mode does work, but it also picks up background noise, which affects the accuracy of the lighting response.

Additionally, I’d love to see a few more control features added:

	•	A strobe button that lets you trigger a strobe effect on demand, then turn it off—this would be great for creating dramatic accents during specific parts of a song, like many DJs do.

	•	More strobe color options, including shades like orange, dark green, and other vibrant or moody tones—not just the standard white or primary colors. This would add a lot of flexibility for setting the mood or matching a theme.

	•	Alternating strobe and dancing features. Unless I just haven’t figured it out yet, I seem to only be able to get all the lights to dance to rhythm at the same time and color instead alternating.

	•	Fade in/out options so the lights can smoothly transition on and off instead of switching instantly.

	•	Chase or sequential strobe modes where the strobe effect moves through the lights in a pattern (e.g., around the room), rather than all the lights flashing at the same time. This would add a dynamic visual effect and allow for more creative setups.

These features would really take the lighting experience to the next level!

Overall, this is a great app with lots of great features! Well done!

### 5/5 — Please add functionality with iOS shortcuts

*2025-05-16, version 1.6.51*

The app works great for my use case. I have these in my office and it works well, but it would be so awesome if I could use iOS shortcuts to integrate these with homepage widgets and device gestures.
Update: I am happy they now have this functionality through Siri. It’s a bit strange it must be through Siri, but it works well.

### 5/5 — App works great!

*2024-12-15, version 1.6.45*

The worst feature of the app is the poor english, everything else has been better than expected. Full RGB slider control for color, or preset color gradients. The addition of groups and scheduling is very convenient and not something that I expected when I bought these lights. Overall very satisfied.

### 5/5 — Timing

*2024-11-23, version 1.6.44*

Where is the timing in this application?
