However, there is an issue on Mac app which needs fixing. The issue is I cannot pause music or go to next station and have to wait more than a minute for buttons to function. I hope you can fix it. The one major flaw with this app is that if you are using Apple CarPlay to play music with Broadcasts and you stop it so that you can either make a phone call or use Siri, there is really bad reverb when Broadcasts starts playing again. It's simple but powerful. I can add streams that aren't in the database and select my own logos. I listen to classical music, much of which is unfamiliar: so it's great that the track information is shown where available from the broadcaster. The Shazam integration to get the album art is a nice touch. The shortcuts support is icing on the cake! ### 5/5 — Simple, Privacy Respecting + Bloat-Free Radio App 👏 *2025-12-27, version 3.4.10* One of the few privacy respecting radio app options around - for users wanting to limit commercial surveillance, which so many other radio apps incorporate💸 Broadcasts app is to be congratulated, as it doesn’t trade your personal information for radio access. So simple to use; works well on my iPad. Importantly, the app size is SUPER SMALL, saving your precious storage space for other things. A super impressive app - I can easily find all my local stations around Australia - as well as any international station🤩 ### 4/5 — Streaming radio *2025-12-15, version 3.4.10* Apple Music (along with its many other new unwanted ‘features’) now doesn’t let you stop and start audio streams with the spacebar nor show you a good indication of the in-app volume level. Broadcasts does so it’s my new background radio listening app. So far, seems straightforward and looks and acts familiar. Unfortunately (just like the new Apple Music), it doesn’t show you the current track playing within the stream. The app syncs very well across my different devices. I am deleting a few apps i had before now which are not as functional as this. Did i say no subscription fees too & its also affordable? However, it sometimes seems unable get a signal - not sure whose fault this is. Also, it appears to be limited to few of the RTÉ stations- is that correct? It would be much better if it included (1) options to allow programmes to be wound back when live, and (2) play-back facilities over the past week or two. ### 5/5 — Very Good, but… *2025-11-23, version 3.4.10* I love the app, it does everything I want it to. However, recently noticed the it automatically switches to the next station every couple of minutes or so. Very disappointed. It does not list stations by genre. When searching for a specific kind of music, for instance Ambient, I don't care what country it originates from. I just want the content. There might be times when it's nice to peruse stations from a certain country, but I think most folks are searching for a cerain kind of music. Broadcasts does have a fairly decent database of stations but surely, there have to more than this. Finally, Broadcasts interface isn't the most intuitive. If you want a simple radio app, without adverts or any other bloat, this is the one you should go for. The free version is limited to only being able to favorite 5 stations, which I think is very generous. It is nice to see an app for once that does what it claims, without stuffing all sorts of other rubbish into it. Personally, I use it for LBC, Classic FM, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 and Radio X. My only real criticism is that not every radio station is available on this app - for example, some local BBC radio stations cannot be found in the search menu, but this is only a minor gripe. If you just want mainstream stations, you can’t go wrong with this app. You can also rename stations and change the artwork if you want. The developer has done a fantastic job. I use this app on macOS (Tahoe) and iOS and IT JUST WORKS! ### 5/5 — Does exactly what it says. *2026-04-05, version 3.4.11* Simple app that does one thing and does it well. Adding new streams is easy, and it plays them super duper reliably. Greatly appreciate that it doesn’t try to upsell features that I don’t need, and I ESPECIALLY appreciate that it doesn’t try to push AI to my face.
