First was good. This 2nd one is just okay so far. The puzzles are less intuitive and I find myself needing the hints a lot more. Some of the controls to exit a location are a bit janky. You really have to find the exact spot to tap for it to trigger the character leaving the area. I wish they just had a button for the map that grays out when they don’t want you hopping around. Still, I’ll stick it out and update the review if it picks up. Hopefully the next game is better. ### 4/5 — BS2 *2025-04-24, version 2.0.3* I’ve been playing this franchise for a while. GBA, Steam, PS2 and now just added the collection to my phone. It’s improved over the originals, but really guys, I can use controllers for every single platform out there these games are available on, and I can’t use my BackBone on these games? I would not have spent my money buying console games for the phone if I knew I wouldn’t even be able to use a backbone with it. HUGE disappointment. Not the game. Just the developers choice of not allowing a controller. They are a classic that I'm so glad were brought to phones. I know it’s probably not going to happen but I would love to see Broken Sword 6. Play what you can here and then go out and buy the ones you can’t! Having an issue with BS2. Interaction with old gendarme in montfacon after ponytail boy is gone. Broken Sword 2 The Smoking Mirror remastered can be said to be the definitive version. I wish I could say the same about the Shadow of the templars remastered but no the original was vastly superior - but this one, ironed out all niggles. Great artwork, story, puzzles and voice acting. Everything about these games has been thought out brilliantly. I loved playing them as a boy and I love playing them now as an adult. I’m so pleased that they have stayed and evolved to new platforms. I can’t wait until Broken Sword 6 is made. If you like point and click adventures this is the game to get. If it’s not your thing I would definitely recommend you try out the games. Perhaps the story, characters or artwork will interest you.
