### 3/5 — Scale problems

*2025-02-11, version 6.4.2*

Regardless of what I’ve tried, the app will not record scale weight readings. It just seems like it just doesn’t work at all anymore. So frustrating

### 4/5 — Steps

*2023-11-18*

I do walk a lot and my Fitbit is accurate but the Brook app is way off. It’s frustrating when you have over 12,000 steps or more and it shows on the app around 3,000. I wish they would correct this problem

### 3/5 — App

*2023-02-21, version 4.3*

Little hard to changing quarantine and unit of measure

### 2/5 — Not a user friendly app

*2022-11-18*

The app is trying, but falling short. WW app is much easier to use, has more foods in their directory & is more accurate. The links for recipes is also lacking. In one in particular, they "copied & paste-d" directions from a different recipe with different ingredients. It made no sense at all. Seems like it's a part-time endeavor with part-time tech support

### 2/5 — Coach? What coach?

*2022-11-16, version 4.2.2*

No one has responded to any of my entry’s,
We really don’t want me to rate that experience.

### 5/5 — Newbie

*2022-06-04, version 4.1*

I just started and I can’t wait to start cooking and eating in a healthy way!!!

### 2/5 — Registering food is very difficult but I’m still learning

*2022-04-08, version 4.1*

Hopefully it will get easier

### 5/5 — Brooks plans

*2022-03-03*

The format is absolutely wonderful, informative and easy to use. It’s a perfect way to keep track of all statistics while trying to eat healthy, lose weight and either stay or get in shape.

### 3/5 — Brooks app review

*2022-02-21*

App does a good job integrating weight and calorie counter for foods. Needs to better integrate calories/ points for activities besides walking. I like the tracking against others in group for steps other activities/ points could be integrated by selecting exercises completed. Also, it appears that tracking may be limited to Patti ants with Apple Watch. This would allow more members to participate.

### 5/5 — Lost 35 lbs in 7 months

*2022-02-11*

I got the Brooke app on a whim because it was free from my health insurance. I toyed around trying to loose weight off and on for 20 years never committed to anything. When I started using Brooke I weighed 215 lbs. At 67 years old I wanted to try to get back in shape. So I sent a goal of 180 lbs. Brooke is not a diet but a gradual lifestyle change. You can eat anything you want but you have to stay within the daily calories allowed. By logging in your meals and exercise you will see what foods and amount of exercise work best. In 7 months after weighing in every day, logging my meals and snacks, drinking at least the recommended water, walking, and conversing with my coach I reached my goal. Today I fluctuate around 180 lbs give or take 3 lbs. I would recommend the Brooke approach to weight loss to anyone wanting to loose weight.

### 5/5 — Logging food

*2022-02-01*

I love the information the coaches offer on Brooks+. I haven’t been logging food very often. I find the system used on Brooks+ very cumbersome. I also downloaded My Fitness Pal and usually input my food there. It is so much easier and quicker.

### 5/5 — Perfect balance of support

*2022-01-31*

For the first time I feel committed to a safe, healthy lifestyle change in my eating habits. Daily checkins, food recording and reminders make me accountable. I have access to coaches each day instead of once a week. The videos share helpful information and can be rewatched at any time. Love it!

### 5/5 — Excellent concept

*2022-01-30, version 4.1*

It is a human based virtual weight loss/health group that works much better than a straight app without humans. The “app” portion could use some more work but the concept is excellent!

### 4/5 — Good program/ easy to follow

*2022-01-27*

I wish that it was easier to figure out calories; there is not always something comparable to what I’ve had to eat. I also wish that food portions were given with the recipes.
I have done well on this program and lost 23 lbs. I have become more aware of what I eat and enjoy the competition with walking! Weighing myself daily gives me the opportunity to look back on the previous day to evaluate what was not a smart choice in my food selection.
I have recommended this program to several people I know!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Just terrible

*2025-03-02*

Only two days in and I already hate this god-awful app. Logging activities does nothing to your step count, the coach doesn’t actually interact with you and instead sends you automated messages like a useless AI (I’m honestly not convinced she’s a real person at this point), the intake survey has very poorly phrased questions that don’t fully capture hidden and dynamic disabilities, the so-called educational material is a joke and doesn’t take people with limited mobility or any other special health conditions into account. If this is the best the CDC could come up with prior to 2025, I can’t even imagine how much worse it’s going to get.

### 1/5 — Still Awful After Supposed Update

*2024-09-13*

I’m doing a diabetes prevention program through my insurance company. This app is cumbersome to use. After looking at the reviews, there has apparently been issues for several years with not being able to scan many items or when they do scan, to nutritional information is completely incorrect. This has not gotten any better with the recent update that occurred with the app. The serving portion hardly ever scans correctly and that throws off the rest of the nutrition information. There are ways to adjust the portions BUT when the original portion information is not correct, it doesn’t matter what portion size you choose, the information will always be incorrect. It makes it very frustrating to log meals and I’m sure a lot of people have given up doing this. Right now, I just log my steps and exercise. I’ve used Chronometer in the past and that is an excellent app. Please take a look at how that app is designed and if you can make the Brook app work like that app, there will a lot less frustrated people.

### 1/5 — Why!

*2024-02-22, version 4.4*

Great program for “healthy” individuals, but due to the fact that I have DIABETES, I do not qualify to use the app!

### 1/5 — Logging food

*2023-03-16, version 4.3*

Can’t enter nutrition profile for food not in database.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2023-03-07, version 4.3*

Difficult to use - must have missed the instructions somewhere - still waiting for the scale - can I use my own? - please stop suggesting a walk at 7:30 pm - it’s dark out for gosh sakes! Hard to enter the correct food weight/measurements- again, did I miss something? Did NOOM for 13 months ( successfully I might add!) and it was much easier to navigate - ppointeddisappointed for sure - will keep trying but…

### 1/5 — Scale

*2022-06-09, version 4.1*

The scale is great but can’t sync it to the I- phone HELP. !!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — App is barely average

*2021-08-18, version 3.9*

As far as using it to track calories, it does ok. I find it doesn’t sync activity correctly. If you look at year to date weight loss, it uses averages so it appears you’ve lost less (according to my actual numbers I’ve lost 20.7lbs, but the app show 16.4lbs. Same data). When you hit your goal weight, there’s no recognition. Advice is useless. For example, the “Coach” sent me this: “if or when you experience a plateau or temporary weight gain, how have you reacted in the past? What did you do to get yourself back on track?” Ummm. Isn’t it your job to recognize when I’m in a plateau & give me advice on how to get through? The group posts tend to be weird unrelated things, like “share a picture of your pet”. Every. Week. So if you are looking for an app with a helpful coach or real support & advice, keep looking.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2021-02-08*

I joined this program sponsored by my health insurance. This app is horrible. It is clunky and unreliable. Doesnot accurately read nutrition information when scanning a product. There is no way to manually enter nutrition information. Very hard to find items even close to what you have eaten. Syncing between activity tracker and app is not accurate or lags. The group wall is awful to read from the app. Coach posts are cut off. Video sessions are not providing any information not commonly known. This does not seem like a helpful program at all. I can see someone dropping out of the program due to all of the frustration. I will stick with it because it is free and I like the scale provided. It may give me a little motivation but, overall this app distracts from the programs goals

### 1/5 — Meal logging doesn’t work

*2020-05-11, version 3.2*

The meal logging is pathetic on this app. Bar code scanning doesn’t work at all, and search doesn’t either. The only way to get logging to work is to type it in on the initial screen and not make any changes or modifications.

Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — App Will Not Load

*2020-02-19, version 3.2*

Launches to blank screen, spinning wheel, "please wait" error message.

If it does finally does launch, says user not found. Website says the same. There is no way to contact the developers that I can find, so hopefully this review will catch their attention.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Loses password

*2025-05-23, version 6.4.2*

I randomly have to reset my password, not worth the aggravation.

### 5/5 — Brooks plus

*2024-02-28*

Love using the Brook plus app, it is easy to use, able to track for personal accountability and set goals and reminders to workout, etc. Being assigned a personal coach helps knowing I can always reach out with questions and get support.

### 5/5 — Brook program fir me

*2024-02-01*

I’ve tried many diet programs through the years since age 40. I am 78 now. This is the first where I’ve had success. I’m very happy with it. I still have 30 lbs to loose and am very happy to be accepted for a second year. I will succeed and I will keep it off for life.

### 5/5 — Easy to use app

*2023-04-11*

The app is fairly easy to use however every once in awhile I seem to run into a glitch when I try to enter my foods. It seems that the screen where I normally input my foods is no longer there.

### 5/5 — Brooke+

*2023-03-31, version 4.4*

I have been very pleased with this program. Everyone has been so supportive!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2023-02-03, version 4.3*

Good app once you figure out how to use it!

### 5/5 — Helping me with my weight loss journey!!

*2023-01-18*

It’s been a difficult journey until Brook+ . I was introduced to Brook+ awhile ago but it took me time, because of my busy schedules, to actually get into the process that the Brook program outlined, now that I’ve taken the time needed to see all that the program has to offer, I’m excited and know this is a special program and very successful!! I know I will reach my weight goal very soon.
Thank you Brook+

### 5/5 — Great Program

*2023-01-12*

I have tried other plans like noon and simple, but none stuck. I love Brooke+. The app is great to track and log progress. Their meal tracking is great. Their food list is excellent and I’ve found everything in there to track calorie consumption. The ability to scan barcode of ingredients makes it so easy. Having access to a coach through the app and not just an FAQ helps keep me on track.

### 5/5 — Easy & motivating

*2022-12-16, version 4.3*

I feel supported by the coaching and the app is very easy to use. Tracking meals & activity is simple.

### 5/5 — PiaRebecca

*2022-06-17, version 4.1*

Won’t let me enter items, duplicate questions, duplicate enrollment?
