The print quality has been good and the printer itself is easy to use. However, I think the Artspira app needs significant improvement. The connection is frequently lost, which can be frustrating, especially when working on a project. Another major limitation is that Artspira is only available on mobile devices. It would be much better to have a version for a computer or laptop, or at least better support for a larger tablet screen/keyboard and mouse. Designing on a phone can be difficult when you need to work with text, positioning, and detailed designs. I really like the printer, but improving the Artspira app and connection stability would make the overall experience much better. ### 2/5 — Not user friendly *2026-08-22, version 2.8.20* Not enough after sales help. Updates always cause problem. If there’s anyway that can be increased it would be a HUGE asset. Also, always having to “delete” a pattern or ok it is unnerving until you’re familiar with what it’s doing. That initial fear of losing your work is nauseating. I have yet to understand the reasoning behind it. I’m interested in purchasing files as I suspect that’s the only way to get the details I see on my phone and tablet but I’ve had my machine for 3-4 yrs and have yet to figure out how to purchase them🤦🏼‍♀️. 3-4 yrs in, my machine is having trouble with the left side roller lagging. And it always loads my scan sheet crooked. There should be troubleshooting tools within this app to help care for your machines but I guess that’s Brothers App???? There seems to be a lot more opportunity for those of us who input our own designs and to change them. But doing them on this app is next to impossible. Because it’ll lock up on you or you have to keep moving the screen around and then you lose your place. ### 3/5 — Instruction help *2026-07-23, version 2.8.10* I feel like there should be a help? Keep getting a message to log in to prove I’m not a bot. There’s NO option to log in. Cannot click on “watch on YouTube” as it doesn’t allow you to click on it. This app is terrible for sublimation designs. I cannot count the times it has disconnected from the printer, MID-PRINT. I can add a text and edit the font but that’s it. I cannot edit the text again, to change spelling or add more words. I also cannot add another text to add more words on a new line. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2026-06-24, version 2.8.0* It’s an ok APP for embroidery but it has minimal designs and features to use, and it’s disappointing that Brother - which is such an established and trusted company in NZ, has excluded their NZ customer base from access to Artspira+ subscription. ### 4/5 — Zufrieden *2026-06-20* Das Stick-Programm tut das, was es soll und lässt sich intuitiv bedienen. In der letzten Zeit sind viele gute Neuerungen dazugekommen. Was mir nicht gefällt, dass die Farben so „falsch“ wiedergegeben werden. Nicht jeder verwendet das Brother-Stick-Garn. Die Motive der kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellten Dateien gefallen mir ganz und gar nicht. Schade auch, dass ich die Dateien, die ich im Rahmen des Abos ausgewählt habe, nach Beendigung des Abos nicht behalten durfte. Dabei ist das Abo wirklich nicht gerade günstig. Das Digitalisieren von Bildern hat bei mir überhaupt nicht geklappt. Aus zwei alten Frauen wurden zwei junge Mädchen gemacht, die Personen sind nicht mehr zu erkennen, damit für mich : nutzlos. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Newest update is awful *2026-08-28, version 2.8.20* This app is working for me just fine but the newest update in August 2026 has completely broken my workflow. I can no longer make a customized piece of mug sublimation paper at 9.5” x 4”. My dimensions are no longer allowed. I tried to use the mug template in the app, but it’s too small for my designs. I cannot print from my desktop to the printer (this was a problem before which is why I’m using the app in the first place). So basically I cannot use standard sublimation mug paper, which is ridiculous. This is not great since I have hundreds of wholesale orders I need to ship. I’m incredibly annoyed. I will change my review if this is fixed. ### 1/5 — Not working *2026-08-27, version 2.8.20* Keep trying to login and when I do that keep seeing a “Can’t get data from server. Check network and retry” and an update sign that doesn’t even do anything when I tap it nothing on the screen works all there is is a never ending loading sign. ### 1/5 — Mid *2026-08-09, version 2.8.10* Going to keep trying. App Keeps filling designs where I don’t want them filled even after using Inkscape to remove fill, and transferring. Lettering has bare spots where you can see the fabric between stitches. Like anything it’s a learning process.
