## What is Brown Note?

Correlate your poor bowel movements with recent meals. No nutritional inputs, no guessing at firmness, and no giant database of foods. Just type in what you ate—"latte", "pizza", "chai”—and log bowel movements as good or bad. Then put your phone away and get on with your day.

Brown Note learns what you mean, asks you for more information asynchronously ("What is in a latte?") and reports back when it has identified a correlation to look into more. That's it.

DISCLAIMER: Brown Note does not provide medical diagnoses. Consult with your doctor before making changes to your diet that could impact your health.

### 5/5 — Legit helped me find a trigger food

*2024-08-18*

I was wary because I haven’t heard of this app but thought I’d give it a go because it collects no info on me and that’s cool and rare. Within a couple weeks it found a trigger food I hadn’t considered before. Honestly pretty surprised it worked. It also isn’t annoying to input all the stuff I’ve been eating. 100% worth giving a shot. But also bummed I should probably stop drinking so many IPAs 😞

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2024-10-16

Fixes for iOS 18 users: log entries now persist correctly and immediately, deleting log entries no longer crashes the app, Brown Note Shortcuts will no longer fail to run, and the keyboard will now correctly focus when starting a new log entry.

Minor improvements: the app will no longer ask for clarification of food/drink items that have already been clarified, and when logging or clarifying multiple food/drink items the list of entered items & autocomplete options will both now sort alphabetically correctly, regardless of language.

### 1.1.0 — 2024-09-14

This version improves background processing, which did not happen on a dependable cadence before. After upgrading, your device will take a few days to a few weeks to reprocess foods, based on how you use the app. Once it does, suspicious foods will start showing up in your Root Causes screen as they are discovered.

### 1.0.5 — 2024-07-16

No release notes.
