### 2/5 — Just OK for what it is

*2018-11-14, version 2.0.0*

Scans physical tickets just fine, but can't focus in on smaller, closer together barcodes (like the ones that bpt generates for will call tickets or print at home). I'd like an app for organizers to track sales easily too.

### 1/5 — Ticket buyers need an app

*2017-10-12, version 2.0.0*

Ticket buyers need an app

### 1/5 — Need an App for the account holder

*2017-09-13, version 2.0.0*

We need Brown Paper Tickets to realize that adding an app for the account holder will be an added plus to their own exposure and more people will use them. Scanner app is okay but focus should be otherwise

### 1/5 — Needs attendee list!!!

*2017-02-10, version 2.0.0*

Cmon now. Will call much?

### 1/5 — Event attendees list/event management

*2016-05-17, version 2.0.0*

I would like to see an option for viewing the event attendees as well as be able to manage my online event. Not just a ticket scanner.

### 1/5 — App for venues, not customers

*2016-04-07, version 2.0.0*

I was looking for an app to download my ticket and place it in my iOS wallet. This app is NOT for that. This app is for people who work the doors at the event. Seems like Brown Paper Tickets are forgetting one side of the equation--the customer.

### 1/5 — HELLO BPT!!!

*2015-10-16, version 1.0*

This app is utter rubbish. It is useless, and quite frankly, it is why I pass on buying tickets from Brown Paper Tickets. What is the problem with BPT!?!

### 1/5 — Current Version Doesn't Work

*2015-10-01, version 1.0*

This app would freeze every time I tried to log in. Tried several times on different devices.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2015-08-30, version 1.0*

Wish I could give this version 0 stars. The app used to be acceptable. But it wasn't ever a good app. Now it won't let me login with a new login. And it automatically logs me into my old login and then freezes the screen.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2015-07-14, version 1.0*

App doesn't work at all. Can't log in. BPT needs to address their app ASAP.

### 1/5 — Disaster

*2015-05-13, version 1.0*

BPT hasn't updated this app since 2011. I’m shocked they’re even allowed to remain on the store. Garbage-ware. Find another solution.

### 1/5 — Locks up

*2015-05-09, version 1.0*

On iPhone 5 locks up, have to swipe quit and keep trying. Too bad there is no other choice. They should focus on this to make it rock solid.

### 1/5 — Can't log in so this is useless

*2015-05-09, version 1.0*

Are they reading the reviews? No way to log in so what is the point?

### 1/5 — Bad app don't use it

*2015-05-03, version 1.0*

I needed this app for an event, could not get it to work once one my iPhone. I don't recommend this app

### 1/5 — Needs Updating

*2015-04-19, version 1.0*

This app is horrible. I was so bent out of shape, when it kept crashing while testing before our event. Thankfully, I had printed all attendee data, including barcodes, so we could make sure mobile tickets were not getting abused. Great concept, just fix the App.

I would like to say that my experience with BPT overall was great!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Shameful thieves!

*2023-06-10, version 2.0.1*

Stealing from children is despicable. Your company is horrible. Everyone who works for you should be ashamed.

### 1/5 — Worthless App

*2021-06-17, version 2.0.1*

Wouldn’t work and followed the directions for scanning and manual entry. Neither worked
Better off just printing the tickets

### 1/5 — Terrible company

*2020-04-11, version 2.0.1*

Before using this app or the company, check their Facebook and other media reports. They are bouncing checks on their customers and not refunding ticket holders. Blaming it on the pandemic but there are multiple reports that this started before the pandemic occurred.

### 1/5 — They didn’t pay us!

*2020-03-19, version 2.0.1*

Having a small biz is hard and we reached out to you to be a easy way for customers to buy tickets and it was.. at great expense we produced a show and then y’all decided not to pay us OUR money. Don’t use brown paper tickets!

### 1/5 — Didn’t work!

*2019-05-26, version 2.0.1*

Wouldn’t scan any of the bar codes! It was a complete disaster at the doors of our event.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2018-11-16, version 2.0.0*

Just get a black screen, and there is no way to give the app access to the camera. Seems like it might be an iPhone 6 issue, but makes the app completely worthless

### 1/5 — Totally useless!!

*2018-10-17, version 2.0.0*

A piece of junk!

### 1/5 — No information for promoter

*2018-07-10, version 2.0.0*

Need something for promoter to track sales on app

### 1/5 — Why does this app exist?!

*2018-01-24, version 2.0.0*

Brown paper tickets in a few words obviously doesn’t care enough to make a app for customers; just vendors. ☹️☹️☹️

### 1/5 — what about your customers?

*2018-01-22, version 2.0.0*

I find it bizarre that you don’t have an app for ticket-holders.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple, fast and easy to use

*2024-10-17*

The newly updated Brown Paper Tickets Scanner app makes event check-ins a breeze. With its fresh look and faster performance, it’s perfect for event organizers who want to streamline the entry process. Scanning barcodes and tracking guests is easy—whether they’re coming in or stepping out. You can even manually enter barcode info and rescan tickets as needed.

What’s great is the added bonus of Brown Paper Tickets’ social impact: 5% of profits go to charity, and employees get paid time off to volunteer. This app isn’t just efficient; it’s backed by a company with heart. Perfect for any event size, it’s a must-have for smooth, hassle-free check-ins!

### 5/5 — Supportive!

*2024-10-15, version 2.0.1*

This app was easy to understand for a small business owner like me, this helps me so much keeping track of my staff’s information

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-10-14, version 2.0.1*

This is a great app that people, especially ticket scanners would love to use. It is the faster and the best ticket scanner that I have ever used. A friend of mine suggested me to use this and now I don’t use any other app to scan my tickets. I highly recommend you guys to use this, trust me, it’s really helpful and you would love to use it again and again, thanks!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2019-09-25, version 2.0.1*

Simple, easy to use, very functional and helpful.

### 5/5 — Worked great for us

*2014-05-27, version 1.0*

Very happy with the app. Scanner worked fine via iPad mini with active wifi connection. I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about, it's a simple app that needs active data connection to its job - scan barcodes and verify tickets. It did it's job perfectly for our event this past weekend, without a problem.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-08-21, version 1.0*

Can't wait to see it developed more so we can see more info about are customers who are attending on the go!

### 5/5 — Why wont

*2011-04-16, version 1.0*

Why won't it work on the new I pod touch with the camera ?

### 5/5 — Sweet

*2011-03-28, version 1.0*

Can't wait to use this tool.

### 3/5 — Why isn’t there an app for the ticket holder?

*2018-08-16, version 2.0.0*

I’m NEVER going to remember how to access these tickets....

### 3/5 — Using the iPad2 & in another country...

*2011-10-02, version 1.0*

This app works on the iPad2 and not the older iPads because the new camera auto focuses well enough to read a bar code. We tested with sample print-at-home tickets (and even a laptop display of the PDF) and it works flawlessly, but we're looking forward to trying it overseas. It would be nice to have a dedicated iPad version, instead of just the iPhone version, so it could be switched to landscape mode, but zoom is available, so it's not horrible.

Remember... YOU NEED TO HAVE A CONSTANT WEB CONNECTION FOR THIS TO WORK. All scanning submits directly to the same BPT server, preventing tickets from being scanned more than once (protecting from copies), no matter how many scanners are used at the door. We chose to buy an iPad 2 with 3G, in case the Wi-Fi connection isn't reliable enough.

WARNING! There are two versions of all iPad 3G models! The Apple version is "unlocked," with an interchangeable ATT (GSM) SIM already installed. I installed a rented SIM for 3G service in that country for $5/day, 4-day minimum. Verizon makes only "locked" versions with just their (CDMA) SIM installed permanently (at least for non-technicians). The label on the back of the box will tell you if it's Verizon or not.

I'll try to report back later this month after our show's over.
