## What is Brush Buddy?

Brush Buddy turns the daily fight over toothbrushing into something a child actually wants to finish. A cheerful cartoon tooth sits in the middle of the screen, covered in little germs, and gets visibly cleaner and happier as your child brushes. No ads, no account, no internet needed.

TWO MINUTES, PROPERLY SPLIT

Dentists ask for two minutes — but they also ask that the time be spread evenly, which is the part almost everyone gets wrong. Brush Buddy walks through the mouth in six steps and holds each one for as long as it deserves:

• Top right, top left, bottom left, bottom right — 25 seconds each, because the molars at the back are where brushing is usually rushed.
• Top front and bottom front — 10 seconds each. They are easy to reach and do not need a full turn.

That is exactly 120 seconds. A ring of teeth around the buddy lights up to show where to brush right now, and a progress arc fills as the seconds tick down.

IT PROMPTS FOR THE SURFACES TOO

Within each section the app cycles through the surfaces most children forget: outsides, chewing tops, and insides — with a short written cue and a gentle tick each time it moves on. Front teeth get outsides and insides; the back teeth get the chewing surfaces as well.

THE GERMS COME OFF

Every section starts with germs scattered across the buddy's tooth. They pop and vanish as that part of the mouth gets its time, so a child can see the progress rather than just being told about it. The buddy's face brightens as the mouth gets cleaner.

A REWARD WORTH FINISHING FOR

Reach the end and the buddy's chosen character bursts onto the screen to celebrate — a tooth fairy, a girl or boy dentist, or a girl or boy superhero. Your child picks which one, and it is genuinely the reason they will come back tomorrow.

A STREAK THAT BUILDS THE HABIT

A small pill at the top counts consecutive days brushed and the stars earned along the way. It is quiet encouragement, not pressure — nothing is ever lost or taken away.

The streak, the stars and your settings are stored on the device and nowhere else. The screen stays awake for the whole two minutes so nobody has to touch a wet phone mid-brush.

The layout scales to the screen, so the tooth ring stays big enough to read at arm's length on an iPad propped on the bathroom shelf.
