What's New in BrushForge

1.3.2

July 17, 2026

What's new: • Import inventory CSV files and supported exports from other paint trackers, with broader header support and clearer review results. • Restore supported paints, palettes, and recipes from BrushForge JSON exports, including files containing only palettes or recipes. • Re-import backups without duplicating or overwriting existing palettes and recipes. • Keep Add All Paints and Review Unsure within reach while reviewing long imports. • See exactly what was imported, already present, invalid, or skipped at your current limits. • Improved free-user layouts, especially on iPad, so ads and bottom actions stay out of the way. • Additional import reliability and interface improvements. More paint data, more brands, and deeper hobby tools are already in the works. Thanks for using BrushForge!

Nice modern app for managing paints

I like this app overall; it feels modern and clean, but still needs more polish to catch the small issues. Not sure I care or have any use for the AI tools since based on my experience it’s not very accurate in recognizing your paints in a picture. I also noticed the database of paints has some errors in it. So overall, I like this app and purchased it to support the dev, but it needs a bit more work to fix the bugs

Started great but bait and switch

Started great. Was exactly what I needed to organize my models painting. But slowly more and more creeped behind a pay wall.

I get it, but it was pushed as an app that paid features were just a little better and cut ads. I guess they couldn’t motivate people to pay with what they had so they had to lock more stuff out.

Response from developer

Hey, sorry to hear that, that’s definitely not the experience I was hoping for. I tried to be as transparent as possible about what’s behind the paywall: all features are available for free, but with usage limits. The $15 lifetime option was meant to be a fair one-time price, considering the time and personal costs that went into building and maintaining the app. You can always contact me if you have more feedback, again sorry for this.

AWESOME!!

This is exactly what I needed in my life to keep track of paints that I own and to keep record of what paints I used for different projects. The dev for this is amazing as I submitted some feedback and it was actually implemented shortly after! Going to be using this app for all of my painting sessions!
