### 4/5 — I am not seeing the Ai summary

*2026-05-17*

Not able to see the ai summary only the reader view

### 5/5 — Best news app

*2026-03-30*

No fluff, just news. Summarizer is great for a quick morning brief.

### 1/5 — Network bloat

*2026-02-25*

Edit: it is not misinformation if that’s what the device is reporting. An explanation of what I “could be seeing” is not the same as misinformation. Thanks.

The amount of tracker traffic billowing from this app is an embarrassment.

**Developer response:** Hi. I appreciate you trying out the app. But I feel it important to prevent the spread of misinformation.

The app does not have any telemetry or tracking whatsoever. It’s a stance I feel strongly about as I think it’s a genuine problem with other apps.

When you launch the app, it pulls down all the headlines and links directly from our server. There is no ongoing tracking happening.

Once you click on an article and load the web page for it, we cannot control what trackers the external websites put into their pages. This might be what you’re seeing, but I assure you that it is not us and is also beyond our control.

The same thing happens as you surf the web.

But we absolutely do not have any tracking in our app whatsoever. Full stop. We strongly believe in privacy.

### 5/5 — No bs

*2026-02-07*

Fast, no bs. Love it

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2026-01-17*

Just a few quality of life adjustments and this would be perfect. I love the layout, but allow me to filter out keywords. Also I’d love to be able to limit by age. For example only show articles for the past 1/2/3 hours . Keep up the great work. This is definitely going to be one of my favorite apps when it’s polished.

### 4/5 — Except start

*2026-01-07*

This feels great. My only request is to have some sort of ability to hide or mark articles I’ve already reviewed (RSS reader style)

**Developer response:** Hi!

Thanks for the kind words. Just wanted to let you know this has now been implemented in the latest update. Enjoy!

### 5/5 — All I need and nothing more

*2025-12-26*

Firstly, I’m a fan of what’s here without having to log in or subscribe or provide any personal information whatsoever. I’m not sure how long to expect that to be the case, but I’ll relish it while I can.

I also sincerely appreciate the distinction of performing “local” AI summaries. I’m accepting on faith that the inferencing is happening on my device rather than some data center, and if that’s actually the case… pretty dope feature for a particular news article that I don’t have the time at the moment to give my full attention, or to just provide context as I read.

Anywho, I don’t know what else to expound on other than it’s all I need in a news aggregator and nothing more. If I could offer one critique, I think it might be cool to be able to traverse the news tabs via swiping left/right

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-06-05

Brutalist Premium is here. One optional purchase, owned forever, no ongoing subscription. It unlocks our boldest feature yet.

Meet the Speed Reader. It uses Rapid Serial Visual Presentation to present an article to you one word at a time, at whatever pace you set. Articles you used to skim, you now finish in seconds. The first of many future premium features to come.

Everything else got faster too. Reader View was completely rebuilt from the ground up and opens quicker and handles more sites. The on-device summaries are sharper and smarter, cutting straight to what matters.

Enjoy! Stay brutalist.

### 1.1 — 2026-01-11

Thanks for using Brutalist! This update includes:

  - Read/unread tracking: quickly mark items read/unread (with swipe actions), plus a clearer
    “already read” look.
  - Optional “Auto-hide read” setting to keep your feed focused on fresh posts.
  - More reliable reading: if Reader Mode can’t extract an article, Brutalist now automatically falls
    back to Normal View.
  - Better Reddit handling: Reddit links open in Normal View (using old.reddit.com) for smoother
    loading.
  - General fixes and polish.

It would really help if you could leave a rating and review and tell your friends about the app!

Turns out marketing is hard. :)
