I have the newest Max+ and love the additional iPad protection now. The Brydge software updater is really unreliable and causes way more frustration than usefulness. Love the keyboard - get better software. ### 2/5 — Need Software Update or Lemon? *2021-11-08, version 2.0.4* I have waited 3 months for my Brydge 11 Max+ and was so excited to finally get it. Unfortunately, the mouse is intermittently acting like a “right click”. Instead of opening whatever App I am clicking on it pulls up a menu. Additionally, the up and down arrows don’t work on all Apps. Example: Twitter. This function on Twitter works on my cheap keyboard just fine. Just in case it was a glitch, I killed the Twitter app and restarted it. After that didn’t work, I turned the iPad off and back on. When that didn’t work, I then reinstalled the Brydge firmware. I even checked to make sure Twitter was not having a problem. The up and down arrows worked just fine on my other devices. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear that you’re having issues. I can help you get this resolved. ### 2/5 — Trackpad is awful *2021-11-06, version 2.0.3* I keep thinking that it is something that I am not doing correctly but the trackpad is terrible. The dot just sits in the middle of the screen, i cannot figure out how to copy, paste. It takes me forever just to open an app. Will try something else. ### 3/5 — Not So Cool After iPad OS 15 Update *2021-09-30, version 2.0.3* I really do enjoy my Brydge Max+ it was a solid purchase. However after the latest iPadOS update things have gotten flaky. My mouse goes away completely and I loose all trackPad usage. I was only able to get it back (for a short period) by a reinstall, disconnect, reconnect process. Is there an update on the way? Thanks! **Developer response:** We are working on an update. I have a couple of questions about this issue. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t recognize Brydge 12.9 Mk II keyboard *2021-09-07, version 2.0.3* Disappointing to find my still-working (though the battery may be failing) Brydge 12.9 MkII keyboard won’t connect to this app, and there seems to be no app support option from Brydge on the App Store. Was of course hoping there’d be some sort of diagnostic or firmware update available for it. Love the keyboard, and the online support from Brydge has been really responsive, so I’ll try that again. Giving 3 stars since it’s not apparently meant for my product. Review is to inform others to skip trying the app with legacy keyboard, and perhaps urge Brydge to not orphan older devices. **Developer response:** Sorry you’re having issues. I think you are probably correct that this firmware is not applicable to your device. If you would email me the model number from the back of your keyboard at ceverett@brydge.com, I’d be happy to confirm for you. ### 3/5 — Bright future *2021-07-28, version 2.0.3* I had the previous Brydge keyboard (without trackpad) with my 11” iPad Pro and while the keyboard is a great, solid product I just ran into the clasp attachment issue. When using constantly taking it out for drawing the task to reinsert iPad into the clasp was a pain. I ended up getting Apple’s Magic Keyboard that easily solved the detach/reattach issue. While that part of the experience was stellar with the Apple keyboard, the feel and material was just not solid. Yes, the trackpad was a great feature as well. Fast forward to today and I upgraded to the 12.9” iPad Pro and then Brydge announced new keyboards with a trackpad and a new way to attach. I was sold. After my iPad finally arrived I waited in anticipation for the new Brydge keyboard. After receiving the new Brydge keyboard, updating the software, I’m seeing potential, but to echo some of the others, the software for the trackpad is still a little buggy. Whenever I have been in graphics programs using many taps the trackpad no longer functions. It’s like it crashes. Not sure if the multiple events when performing multiple taps is creating havoc, but consistently occurs when I have had multiple, consecutive tapping events on the trackpad. I then “forget” the device and re-pair and all is fine again. Well, until the next multiple tap event. I see the promise in the software and I am hopeful that improvements continue. The Brydge hardware is absolute quality. Having hardware keys for volume, display brightness, etc. is a must IMO which Brydge offers that Apple does not for the iPad. Just continue improving the software and I will be very happy. ### 1/5 — I like the top row buttons…… not even close to perfect *2021-04-27, version 1.0.3* The app does not recognize when, my keyboard is connected to the power. I was told by someone in support, that as soon as apple releases the update so would Brydge. When ever I go in for the update, it tells me that I am up to date with 10.0.3 yet it tells me that there is an update. Another frustrating item, is after I finished connecting the keyboard it tells me to register, which I have done numerous times. Yet I can never go passed the screen that asks me to register. I bought the brydge even though I have the magic keyboard. Yet all the problems that people write about have happened to me. Save your money **Developer response:** Your review came about 8 hours before I launched 2.0.0, which brings with it native multi-touch. Please update the app, use it to update your firmware, and let me know if you are still having any issues. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect *2021-04-27, version 1.0.3* Doesn’t work for new 10.2 keyboard. Without it you have no multitouch gestures. Just point and click. ### 1/5 — Would Give It Zero If I Could *2021-02-24, version 1.0.3* App doesn’t work…gets stuck on Step 1 repeatedly no matter how many times I try. Will be buying Magic Keyboard and throwing this thing in the scrap metal pile. ### 2/5 — Great Keyboard, Terrible Trackpad *2021-01-25, version 1.0.3* The keyboard is gorgeous but the trackpad leaves a lot to be desired, especially at this price point. The scrolling is terrible, even when you reduce motion. You can’t swipe between apps or screens. Right click is bad. This firmware should have been updated at least once in the last seven months. It feels nice, great quality and is overall a high quality keyboard. The App on the other hand, is absolute garbage. I am currently typing this on the keyboard on my iPad, yet the App is unable to recognize the keyboard exists. Bluetooth says it’s connected, however it quit working. Reinstalled the app and it keeps saying failed to connect. Pairing is impossible….two of the best cables brands c won’t fit through the case to the iPad…. I purchased it from my local bestbuy and it was great at first I updated it right away and then all of a sudden my trackpad stopped working. Ive tried calling customer support and it sends me straight to voicemail and I can’t even leave a message because the inbox is full. ### 1/5 — Won’t update *2021-07-15, version 2.0.3* I just purchased an ipad Pro 12.9 I cant get past the update screen, I follow the directions by unplugging and plugging a USB-C several times, I even tried several different cords. The green power light comes on and turns red after about 5 seconds. This is a waste of money ### 1/5 — Never Connects *2021-07-14, version 2.0.3* I just bought this keyboard the same time I bought my brand new iPad, and was super excited to connect it. Downloaded the app ran through the initial setup……and I’m still stuck in the initial setup. It keeps sayin disconnect and reconnect power, which I do, then it eventually times out and says “we were unable to connect to your device. Please try again.” Again, this is on a BRAND NEW iPad. My email address is ceverett@brydge.com. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great App and Hardware Experience! *2022-08-11, version 2.0.5* Not gonna lie… I was prepared to be underwhelmed by this after reading a few of the older reviews. But since purchasing the Brydge Max+ for my 11” 2018 iPad Pro in August 2022, I’m happy to report that both the keyboard and the app have knocked my socks off! The app is as no frills as they come, but the update process was straightforward and uncomplicated – worked like a charm, and I was using my new keyboard within minutes of unpacking it from the box. There were a couple of things to fine tune, at first, but I haven’t experienced any major glitches which is a testament to the developers’ ongoing work, here. The keyboard and trackpad themselves are rock solid, and I’m really looking forward to putting them through their paces with iPadOS 16 this Fall. If you’re reading this, and you’re on the fence about whether to buy this vs the Magic Keyboard (or any of the MANY other keyboard solutions for the iPad Pro/Air), my sincere advice is to give it a shot. I’ve found the user experience to be far superior to Apple’s own hardware, and it’s more completely transformed the iPad into a true productivity workhorse. ### 5/5 — Very nice *2022-04-25, version 2.0.5* I have this app since the Brydge Pro+ and it has worked so well to give all the Multi Touch Gestures. Finally worked. *2021-05-24, version 2.0.2* This is an update to my previous review. There was something wrong on my end. I am grateful and appreciative to the Head of Technology, Chris. He contacted me directly and was determined to fix the problem. He even sent me a new keyboard, to rule out a hardware issue. After a Google meet and other trials and errors he figured out that an errant Bluetooth device was freaking out my iPad and the app. After leaving the room I had been always trying to perform the firmware update, I was successful in updating the firmware. It feels like the keyboard apple should’ve made My only 2 recommendations / wishes are #1). scrolling is still a little bit too sensitive, maybe an option to turn down the momentum a bit would be helpful #2). The ability for a pro user to opt-in to changing the Siri button to be a Fn key, and for the top row to become a standard Esc, F1, etc row, would be amazing for using the Brydge 12.9 MAX+ with Microsoft Remote Desktop ### 4/5 — A game-changing firmware update *2021-05-02, version 2.0.0* Brydge Connect 2.0 makes the Pro+ an actual competitor to the Apple Magic Trackpad - FINALLY! Brydge delivered a long-overdue update that improves the utility of the Pro+ trackpad and makes the Pro+ a genuine competitor to Apple’s device. If you have a Brydge Pro+ trackpad, you need this update because it will put a big smile on your face. The Brydge trackpad is still a bit smaller than Apple’s and you need to “learn” the areas of it, but all of the gestures that Apple has, the new Brydge Connect has delivered. ### 4/5 — Great Key board, help users with firmware update info *2020-06-16, version 1.0.2* Great keyboard and I appreciate the firmware updates. If you want early access, visit our website and join our beta program. ### 4/5 — Best Keyboard on the market with a few minor issues *2020-06-09, version 1.0.2* This keyboard has great feel and travel, wasn’t expecting this when I first started typing. Attention to detail is second to none, this seems like something Apple could’ve manufactured! The backlit keys are something you get on a $1000 laptop so you know this is a premium product as is with the nice cold brash aluminum chassis. However, the star of the show is the trackpad as its one of the first keyboards available with this besides the Magic Keyboard from Apple. One neat touch is that the keyboard seemingly gets better with time due to software updates, but in my case the keyboard is stuck on firmware 1.02 but the update software is 1.03 don’t know how to address this at the moment. Additionally, please update software to include side scrolling with two fingers, going back in the browser with two finger gestures, swipe up to unlock iPad instead of hitting the space bar as I do now; lastly maybe the bottom portion of trackpad can be used like a windows device (right click please) Side note: This is now a full fledge media creation device now, not just for content consumption! **Developer response:** Thanks for the great review - we’re glad you’re loving your Pro+!
