### 2/5 — Good But Has Some Issues

*2026-07-19, version 1.10.1*

This app is quite good and does the vast majority of things I want it to do. Issues such as no obvious way to edit a group name is annoying. The APRS & messaging sections in the app are again annoyingly confusing. It was easier to use the handset to get basic APRS working. There seems to be no obvious way to export a group if you want to use it on another VGC device. Good things are the ease of entering repeater details and updating firmware.

### 3/5 — Okay - needs serious improvement with Radio Firmware updates though

*2026-05-15, version 1.10.1*

As of May 15, 2026 my VR-N76 is on firmware 0.8.8

Per VGC’s website, there is updated firmware as of January 29, 2026

When I connect my radio to my phone, open the app, and navigate to the firmware section I see 0.8.8. If I then tap the Firmware button (the prompt to update firmware), I get a notification saying “Is up to date.”

Well… no it’s not. I want to update my firmware due to a persistent bug on my radio, but this app is not allowing me to update it.

### 2/5 — Needs fixes

*2025-12-20, version 1.9.4*

Please fix the crashes we are experiencing, and please update this app to work fully with all settings on IPhone.

### 4/5 — ‘Lil Janky but OK

*2025-11-22, version 1.9.2*

This is a pretty decent app for a pretty decent radio. But like most Chinesium it lacks good UXUI. So much potential for this radio.

### 3/5 — Bluetooth issue also

*2025-10-23, version 1.8.0*

I also have an iPhone 16 and this app update makes connecting difficult. I have to forget this device in Bluetooth
Shut down the app, turn the radio off and back on, open the app and if lucky a box pops up asking to pair and I’m
good till next need to connect.

### 2/5 — Good radio hobbled by lack of features in the app.

*2025-08-01, version 1.8.0*

It’s really disappointing to watch videos about all the cool things this radio can do, only to find out they’re only built into the Android app. I really like the radio itself— just wish the iOS version had the same functionality as the Android app.

### 2/5 — Cannot connect

*2025-07-20, version 1.8.0*

I have an iPhone 16 pro and I cannot get the radio to connect.

### 4/5 — Please add CarPlay support

*2025-04-24, version 1.5.4*

This would be amazing with Apple CarPlay support.

### 4/5 — Funktioniert gut - Apple CarPlay wäre nett!

*2025-04-24, version 1.5.4*

Es funktioniert soweit alles zufriedenstellend. Warum keine Integration in Apple CarPlay?
Für das Mobilgerät wäre das sehr nützlich und sinnvoll.
Also: wann kommt es? Dann auch 5*****

I miss Integration in Apple CarPlay!
If it’s available I will rate this App with 5 stars!
Together with the 7500 Transceiver it only makes sense together with CarPlay!

### 2/5 — iPad mini won’t connect to VR-N76

*2025-02-23, version 1.5.4*

Android version 2.8 is functional and newer.

### 2/5 — No longer connecting Bluetooth with my iPhone 16 Pro Max

*2025-02-05, version 1.5.4*

This has always worked but since I got my new iPhone 16 Pro Max it will not connect to the Bluetooth. Being the only way to control the radio that’s a bad thing. Please fix and I’ll upgrade my review.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-06-10, version 1.10.1*

After working for a while after an IPhone update it is not pairing anymore AND the radio memory channels have been erased making the radio as good as a brick. Do NOT buy it!!

### 1/5 — Not Functional

*2026-03-16, version 1.10.1*

The app is practically non functional, which unfortunately has made the radio pretty much worthless, since they’ve made it so that the only way you can program channels into the thing is through using their application—cant use chirp with the vgc n76. To the developer: Since you are no longer maintaining this, please consider open sourcing everything so that your previous customers might be able to use the radios they bought from you. I don’t plan on buying anything from vgc/btech again…

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2026-01-25, version 1.9.5*

After adding a satellite to my favorites is just crashes and I can’t get back into it

### 1/5 — How do they sell a 350$ app controlled radio with an app that won’t even connect to the radio?

*2026-01-08, version 1.9.5*

Every single time they update this app it breaks. It won’t even connect to my n7600 anymore. Aprs.fi app works just fine with the radio but the app MADE FOR THIS RADIO does not work at all 🤦‍♂️

### 1/5 — Willing to pay

*2026-01-03, version 1.9.5*

If this app worked at least as well as the android version, or even a little better, I’d be willing to pay as much for the app, as the n76.
I dug an ancient Samsung tablet out of storage, (the kind Verizon used to give away almost for free) and the android version of this app, running on the computational equivalent of an intelligent potato, almost feels like a complete app, compared to the buggy, disappointing nightmare that I’m currently cursing on my iPhone 16 pro max.
I’ve long been disappointed by the disparaging dichotomy between Android apps, and IOS versions, (ATAK being a prime example) but this is truly incredible. -I’m actually thinking about carrying my old, dilapidated tablet, or trading in my phone for a Samsung, or buying a new android tablet, all to have an incredible tool with me.
And that’s the thing; this app isn’t a gimmick, or a toy, it could be an indispensable tool, but it’s so buggy, that I can’t trust it to work when I need it.
I don’t believe in complaining, without offering a solution:
In my limited understanding, I know it’s more complicated and expensive to develop for Apple, than Android, and there are things Apple simply may never “allow”. I’m looking at expensive solutions to this issue, but the simplest would be to just give y’all $100 bucks, rather than the app being free. I mean it! Make this a tool I can depend on, with all the features of the N series fully functional on IOS, and then continue to iterate and refine it, as you have been, and it will be priceless to me.

### 1/5 — Constant reboot

*2025-12-28, version 1.9.5*

Won’t stop restarting on iPad

### 1/5 — Latest version not here

*2025-09-25, version 1.8.0*

Verotelecom says I need App version 2.8.12.0. It is not here, and this version has no Bluetooth connectivity, as noted by the other review.

### 1/5 — Can’t connect with iPhone 16 Pro

*2025-08-31, version 1.8.0*

After upgrading my phone to the iPhone 16 Pro, I’m no longer able to connect to my radio with this app. I can no longer recommend this app or radio due to this issue.

Please fix this issue and I’ll change my review.

### 1/5 — Audio relay & APRS problems

*2025-05-06, version 1.7.1*

This radio needs a firmware update to allow the audio relay feature (simplex repeater mode) to properly function while APRS is active.

Please also make a Mac specific app that will work on Intel Mac computers.

### 1/5 — Audio relay & APRS problems

*2025-04-28*

This radio needs a firmware update to allow the audio relay feature (simplex repeater mode) to properly function while APRS is active.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love how it work

*2026-06-12, version 1.10.1*

Love how the app work. One suggestion. Can you please add CarPlay to the app. If that is costly, you can add a pay version that has CarPlay. That way we can operate on a big screen easily.

### 5/5 — APP CRASHES CONSTANTLY

*2025-12-19, version 1.9.4*

Bluetooth always failing. Please fix this otherwise it’s a great app

### 5/5 — Gets better every time I look

*2025-11-21, version 1.9.2*

I have to give Vero 5 stars because it’s a company that listens and try to adjust to the request of the customer. I am satisfied. I use this with two vr-76 and one vr-7600.

### 5/5 — Good work

*2025-05-10*

The improvements are definitely noticed. I have learned the quirks about this app and I’ve learned to use it successful. This is really a paradigm shift and I like it.

### 5/5 — Keep it updated!

*2025-04-28, version 1.5.4*

The app is great for what it is, I hope they keep improving it, the NR-76 is a great radio.

### 5/5 — Needs iGate feature

*2025-03-17*

Please add built in APRS iGate capabilities into this app.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2025-03-04, version 1.5.4*

Regularly updated and reliable app to connect to my VR-N76 Handhelds. Simple programming via Bluetooth and APRS made easy!

### 5/5 — Works normal with IOS 17.6.1 on IPhone 13 PRO Max

*2024-08-20, version 1.5.1*

The app works normal with IOS 17.6.1 on an IPhone 13 PRO Max. I noticed no crashes. I can configure everything that is possible in the app without problems. I use the app together with a VGC-N76 bought in August 2024 from WIMO. Updating the radio also works normal. I cannot complain anything. 73

### 4/5 — Works well, very convenient

*2026-07-28, version 1.10.1*

I downloaded this app on my iPhone 13 to use with a Radioddity mobile ham rig. It installed fine, paired easily and stayed paired, and allowed me all the access I needed to upload repeater frequencies, set up APRS, and operate the radio. Some of the menu settings are obscure, but overall this app was easy to use and operating my rig by my iPhone was great. (Note — the iPhone version doesn’t let you actually talk or listen — you still need the mic for that!)

### 4/5 — Not bad….

*2026-02-16, version 1.10.1*

This app is kind of ground-breaking in the VHF/UHF world. Most of my radios need a PC to program them. This app programs and controls the VGC N76 and its variants right from the iPhone, including software updates. It’s not perfect, but it’s getting better with each update. Keep it up, it’s making the N76 my go to EDC radio over the Icoms and Yeasus…
