Software works great after the firmware update. It did not work until I updated. It would be nice to know what satellites are coming. This works in the android version and seems to have been left out in the IOS version. I’ve been checking for updates for months hoping the satellite tracking feature that the radio firmware supports would be added to at iPhone app but no luck yet. Fix this!!!i I don’t even keep settings synched. I’ve not used the Internet channels part of the application much, but I do hear others talking on it and they seem to be coming in crystal clear. ### 3/5 — APRS & audio relay problems *2025-04-27, version 1.7* When APRS & audio relay are both active. APRS data packets are being transmitted on whichever band is currently set to PTT for the active audio relay frequency. I hope this can be fixed with a firmware update. This problem basically means you can’t have audio relay turned on while APRS is active. ### 2/5 — Could be a very good app. *2025-01-15, version 1.03* The app could be very useful if it actually worked. I used it to program my radio which went flawlessly. And then overnight on day one it lost all of the presets from the app. ### 3/5 — way behind android *2024-11-21, version 1.03* Iphone version of app is so behind it’s android version it even doesn’t connect to most recent firmware radio while android does. I understand apple store is a tough get through but my got that reduces value of uv-pro in us where everybody uses iphone ### 4/5 — Works mostly fine. APRS needs work *2024-09-08, version 1.0* I have been using this about a week. The APRS function does work, but it’s not very well organized or documented. I hope this gets improved. Just setting up repeaters and stuff is super simple. When I first downloaded the app for my iPhone and iPad it was a pretty good “no frills” app. Then they pushed out a major upgrade that was seriously defective. Two days ago (23 Oct 2025) they released a patch. The app still isn’t working properly. The latest update crashes the app most likely because it’s looking for a radio with the latest firmware, but doesn’t see it and crashes out. The kicker is the only way to update the firmware is with the latest version of the app, sooooo there’s a Catch-22 situation going on there. Thankfully I updated the firmware with an android device that I bought because the iOS version is dogfood compared to the android version. Once the firmware was updated via android, the iOS version didn’t crash! But the fun doesn’t end there. The satellite mode is actually worse than if it wasn’t there at all. There’s no list showing satellites like in the android version. Nope…you have to find them on the map manually. And even then, there’s just two. The ISS is one of them, but when you select it and choose to follow….nothing happens. It’s just stares back at you like you didn’t do anything at all. Wow. This feels like some developer pushed this to production without ever testing. Can’t believe the android version outclasses the iOS by this much. I was completely unfamiliar with this radio, aprs, signaling, etc. it took me about four weeks playing with the radio and app off and on. But now that I know how to use the app, it’s very easy to use and I like all of the apps features. By the way, if you are stuck shoot support an email. APRS: There is a little bit of a learning curve here. Add APRS freq to a channel. Then navigate within the app to Settings —> General Settings Under APRS select that channel number you programmed before for APRS and choose path. ie: WIDE2-2 I enabled Tail Elimination and Digital Mute. Lastly, I had to enable Lock Channel Data. Otherwise, it would tx over the local voice repeater. Maybe it was just a fluke with mine, but after enabling that it only transmitted APRS over the respective designated channel and I could still key the mic for voice. App Improvement: Same as other comments.
