But since June they have this weird bug that know the credit card balance is showing as negative. So now you don’t really see how much you owe to the cards but how left of the balance to spent you have and it is really weird. I sent a couple of emails , I got one response and that was that yeah it is a bug and they would fix it. Literally 3 month has been pass and they didn’t fix it so I’m not longer using the app. Thank you. ### 2/5 — Bank Connections *2026-09-02, version 13.45* Bank connection fail to sync at least a couple times a year. Have to delete and we add. Can be annoying ### 2/5 — Was Great ! and then… *2026-09-02, version 13.45* I really enjoyed this app and still do ; used it for a year, and then all of the sudden one day it deleted all of my data for a whole year and complied all of my transactions into one month. This was very frustrating because I could no longer look back and see what happened month to month ; I had put a lot of effort into categorizing properly and all of that went out the window. A refund or some sort of reparations would make me update my review because I really did find this app useful until the glitch that deleted all of my data. ### 3/5 — Good but could be better *2026-08-18, version 13.43* The app is good and mostly easy to use, however the wallet system isn't intuitive or accurate, the transactions can get posted late and be sorted to wrong categories. I wish there was a better system to correct the categories and the transactions sorted into each category. The wallet system definitely needs to go, it doesn't help me at all, only confuses me. Quite ironic for an app like this to have micro transactions but oh well, base version is totally fine without connecting a bank. Recently it duplicated all my charges so that I had to manually remove them (and then did it again a couple weeks later) and always undoes any edits I make to titles and categories. Very difficult to use at this point. ONLY CRITICISM is that you need to bring back that pie chart that was in the spending tab. The app was great and easy to use until recent updates completely rendered the bank transaction import function useless. Not only does it import duplicate transactions that it previously imported but also no longer allows the user to review and edit imports before they get finalized. I wasted my money for 1 year subscription. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-08-11, version 13.43* After downloading the app, there are no tutorials, nor could I find anything online. Also, while guessing what to do, I decided to rename and create some categories for the budget. Unfortunately, I had to pay to create more categories, then after doing so, it still didn’t work. Trying to create for example one category called “alcohol”, simply impossible as it apparently already exists!!!!! It’s not in the “removed categories” (seriously, what even is that) and it’s nowhere else. I have spend at least 1hr stuffing around with it, and because I can’t customise it with the categories I want, I am annoyed that I spent that money, when I’m trying to budget. Can’t connect to bank. Please help! ### 1/5 — Interface is nice, but data sync is horrible *2026-07-17, version 13.42* I used this app for a few months to track my budget. I put a lot of time in getting it set up. It’s great it can link to bank account accounts and credit cards and bring in data. However, sometimes it re-syncs and goes back to the past and brings back data that was already reviewed and reclassifies it to different categories or duplicates it. I just can’t trust it. If it would just let you mark a transaction reviewed and never change it or duplicate it, then it would be great, but it just seems to continue to make mistakes that way. So I don’t recommend it for budgeting. I moved to Quicken Simplifi and it seems to more stable so far. Gives you the chance to batch select or mark what you’ve reviewed, unlike Buddy. ### 1/5 — Bank Connections Broke *2026-07-17, version 13.42* I’ve been using Buddy for 18 months. The first year it was great! In 2026 I have had consistent issues with bank connections and lost transaction data, which completely ruins the point of using the app. Messages to support have gone unanswered. Don’t waste your money; find a different budget app. ### 1/5 — Update is not good *2026-07-17, version 13.42* I liked this app up until the latest update. It no longer lets you review transactions before it adds them so now I have to go through and recategorize what’s been added. It also takes so much longer to sync with my credit card and bank. If I use my credit card on Tuesday I’m lucky to see the transaction by Friday which also makes it difficult to budget because I now have to keep a running list of pending transactions in my head. I think I’m going to have to look for other options/apps to use. ### 1/5 — Stopped functioning after 2 years *2026-07-16, version 13.42* I used and loved this app for 1-2 years, I paid for a life time premium subscription. At times bank accounts got disconnected but that was not an issue as it was easily fixable. As of 2-3 months ago the app completely stopped working. None of my transactions carried over anymore, and the account totals did not update at all. I tried everything to fix it, re-synced, disconnected and reconnected all accounts multiple times, waited months and retried all these things over and over again, emailed customer support NUMEROUS times. Filled out service requests in the app. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE AT ALL. Very unhappy as I loved this app when it was working properly so this is extremely frustrating. The life time premium fee was NOT cheap, yet the premium app features (synced bank accounts that automatically update transactions) is now completely nonfunctional after 2 years, the app only functions like the free version. ### 1/5 — Works fine but in app purchase is not great *2026-07-10, version 13.41* The App works fine for me. My app has been frozen since June 19th. I have emailed support 5 times, tried from different emails, and even found another support email in reviews that I tried and still no response. I just want to be able to keep using without having to delete and reload the app and thus lose all my categorization from this year. Didn’t realise how much I spend on random things, especially subscriptions!!! This buddy app just helps me hold myself a little more accountable! Just needs a bit of time to set up, like either connecting your bank via open banking or uploading a file, but once you get going you can start budgeting easier. They have a pretty generous free trial, so I had set up multiple currencies to test, then realised it’s actually better than tracking in a spreadsheet.
