### 5/5 — Good app for cheap

*2025-08-14*

This is the first app I’ve ever written a review for, this app has helped me a lot just budgeting in general. My only feed back is to add percentages to the pie chart on the spending by category option.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for leaving your first review! I’m really glad the app has been helpful for your budgeting.

I appreciate your suggestion about adding percentages to the pie chart—it’s a great idea, and I’ll be looking into adding that in a future update.

Thanks again for your support! It really means a lot.

### 3/5 — Hard to use for Canadians

*2025-08-06*

Absolutely would love to have better user experience for Canadian folks overall. Unfortunately it’s currently unusable with the Canadian dollar or bank accounts from what I could tell. I do really wish to use the app as I love what Caleb does to help people with their finances, hence the 3 stars

**Developer response:** I apologize the app isn’t working well for you in Canada. I think you’re confusing me with another Caleb who also has a budgeting app. I appreciate your feedback though, and I’ll keep Canadian currency and bank support in mind for future updates.

### 1/5 — Does it work in Canada?

*2025-07-28*

I paid the yearly subscription thinking that it’ll help me track my expense. I live in Canada, it say that I doesn’t have any account that work.
????????

i paid for nothing, talk about savings lol

**Developer response:** Were you trying to set up the app using data from Apple Wallet? At the moment, it only works with Apple Card and Apple Cash accounts, which Apple may not offer in Canada. I understand how that could be frustrating.

If the app isn’t useful to you, you’re absolutely entitled to a refund. You can request one directly from Apple here: https://reportaproblem.apple.com

Feel free to email me at calebrwells@gmail.com if you have any questions — happy to help.
Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

### 3/5 — Don’t know how to feel about it

*2025-07-26*

I thought it was the Caleb hammers app but it’s not and it makes sense why it isn’t.

**Developer response:** Thank you for giving the app a try. Sorry for the confusion — I'm not affiliated with Caleb Hammer, but I hope you still found something valuable in the app. If there's anything I can do to improve it, feel free to let me know.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-07-25*

Got this thinking it was the Caleb Hammer one, got locked into the yearly subscription (trying to do the .99 cent a week one, instead it sent me 10 notifications of different subs and paid the wrong one) to try all of the features, because why would they offer a free trial.
Trying to request a refund of my subscription is LITERALLY impossible. There is no way to contact the developer. No want to request it through the App Store. All I want is my $10 back.

**Developer response:** Sorry for the frustration. I don’t handle refunds directly, Apple manages all billing and subscriptions. You can request a refund through their system here: https://reportaproblem.apple.com.

### 5/5 — Simple & Affordable

*2025-07-20*

I as some others mistakenly downloaded this thinking it was Caleb hammers app. After learning Caleb Hammers app is $100+ I am very pleased with my $10 purchase for the annual subscription on this app. As implied it is simple and easy to navigate, and I think the price point for the premium subscription is very reasonable. Most budgeting apps are $70+, which considering most people seeking out such an app are struggling with their finances charging as much seems predatory. I don’t mind inputting my bills/income manually, I think that aspect keeps you in check with your budget and allows you to truly learn how to use the tool in your day to day life. Overall very satisfied, the only suggestion I could make is if there was some sort of pie chart showing the different categories and your balances on each for us visual learners out there (:

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the thoughtful review. I'm really glad to hear the app’s simplicity and price point are working well for you.

Great suggestion on the pie chart — that kind of visual feedback is something I’m actively working on to make budget tracking more intuitive, especially for visual learners. Custom categories are also in the pipeline, so you'll soon be able to tailor the app even more to your personal budgeting style. Really appreciate your support, thank you.

### 4/5 — Simple, to the point. Love it

*2025-07-14*

So I have to admit I did download this app because I thought it was the “Caleb Hammer” budgeting app. But it was a happy mistake. The app is exactly what the name Implies. It’s simple! Yes you do have to input your expenses & income manually, but I actually like that. The numbers are correct, and I love the bills feature where I can just put in my monthly bills once. Anyways, for those of you that want a straightforward budget app and don’t mind inputting yourself, this is the one for you.

I’m excited to see the new feature of customization come out so I’ll be looking forward to that!
Great work.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind review. The original version of the app was just the bills feature—I built it because I was tracking everything in Apple Notes and doing the math myself. I figured I could make an app to handle that. Since then, I’ve added a few features (with more planned), but I always aim to keep it simple and focused.

### 1/5 — NOT Associated with Financial Audit/Caleb Hammer

*2025-07-11*

This is basically a scam. They’ve taken the former name of the app made by Caleb Hammer, the developer is named “Caleb” but the Financial Audit app rebranded to Dollar Wise. I was wondering why there were no reviews and why the app is practically unusable. That explained a lot. After trying to use it for a while, the app could not calculate how much I’d need to make each month, didn’t actually create a budget, you have to manually input every single expense for it to still give you a wrong number, it’s actually trash. No instructions, not intuitive, don’t waste your time, absolutely do not give them money.

**Developer response:** Sorry for the confusion — my name is Caleb, and I wasn't aware that the original Simpler Budget app was made by someone else also named Caleb when I launched this one. I chose the title based on ASO performance and didn’t mean to mislead anyone.

This app is designed to be manual-first and privacy-focused, which is why it doesn’t link to bank accounts. That said, I definitely hear your concerns and I’ll be reviewing the bills calculator logic to make sure the math is correct when bills and expenses are entered. Thank you for the honest feedback.

### 3/5 — A lot of potential

*2025-06-29*

Hi, I downloaded the app as it seemed to be a really good idea for tracking my budget and I would love to see an overview of different spending categories with a recommendation what to cut. However there is, as far as I saw, at the moment no option to link the PayPal and bank accounts. As I am almost paying everything digitally the option to record or type in every expense seems tiring. I am looking very much forward to the further development of this and will come back in a few months :).

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review.
I’ll look into linking different bank accounts, but I’m currently holding off.
I’ve linked Apple Card and Apple Cash for automatic tracking and will integrate more with Apple’s Wallet app in future updates.
I’m currently working on custom categories, spending limits, and a more informative summary tab. Thank you for checking out the app. I hope it’s improved in a few months when you return.

### 2/5 — Great Bones, Needs Work

*2025-06-25*

The idea behind this app is great, but it needs some work. Some features that would be essential - editing & removing entries for bills and expenses, adding limits on categories and notifying when you’ve gone over, bank account linking/automating entries, making custom categories, etc. Not worth the $9.99 at the moment, but I trust these features will be added soon. Excited to see where it goes!

**Developer response:** Great suggestions—thank you!
I'm not 100% sure yet about full bank data sharing, especially given how flaky I have seen the frameworks in other apps. That said, I do have Apple Card and Apple Cash automatic imports working now, and that works fully on-device. I'm wrapping up a few more integrations to make those even smoother.

The other feature ideas I will definitely work on getting them into future updates. Really appreciate the feedback and excited to keep improving!
