We use industry-standard algorithms (NaCl XSalsa20-Poly1305 + PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA512), and our server only ever sees ciphertext. Not Budget Flow staff, not our hosting provider, not anyone without your PIN can decrypt your numbers. We don't sell your data, share it, or run analytics on it. A NOTE ON THE PIN Because Budget Flow is truly end-to-end encrypted, your PIN is the only thing that can decrypt your data. If you forget it while you're still signed in, you can reset it with a code sent to your email and your data stays intact. But if you're locked out entirely, your data cannot be recovered — not by us, not by anyone. This is the cost of true privacy. Keep your PIN somewhere safe.
