It started on a beautiful Monday morning when I slept in for my flight. The alarm clock didn't go off so I was in bed snoring away, until I got a phone call off the driver to let me know he was outside. I told the driver I had slept in and he said okay and I told him I'd be 20 mins and he was happy to wait which is unusual. Any other company would off told me where to go and the fact that the driver waited was amazing. Never experienced anything like this, it was almost like I had a chauffeur at my phone. The driver got me to my flight after I had a shower and ate my breakfast and it was only 15 pound. However I had to give the driver 20 pound out of goodwill as he waited and I wouldn't be able to get another one due to it being rush hour. Well at least I got there and that was all thanks to budget. What can I say, if I had the money I would buy them myself as I was outstanded. Thank you for your help and I will use you for the rest of my life. No driver assigned after 10 mins. Tried to call but there was no answer on the support line. In the end got charged £2.50 to cancel and go with another firm. ### 1/5 — Pre-booked taxi didn’t show up *2023-06-10, version 34.5.1* Pre booked a taxi from the airport and waited an hour before cancelling because it didn’t show up. Called the number and got the typical ‘will be with you in 10-15mins’ still didn’t show up. Ended up cancelling and ordering an Uber because my 2 young children were stood in the cold until after 1am when I pre booked for 11.40pm. Waste of time ### 1/5 — The map of Newcastle is hopeless *2021-10-15, version 33.3.13* The map of Newcastle in this app is hopeless. It doesn't recognise several addresses which I use regularly and the map sites several house numbers and postcodes in completely the wrong place. ### 1/5 — Does not work anymore *2021-07-11, version 33.3.10* This ap used to be very fast and responsive, for some reason with a fresh new look it no longer works, shame but I will be looking for an alternative supplier. ### 1/5 — Absolutely terrible. Paid extra to be dropped home 45 minutes late! *2021-02-27, version 33.0.16* I usually pay around 6 pounds to get home using Uber and it’s just a 10 minute ride. I was given a driver who was 15 minutes away and when the driver was close by he called me to tell me he’ll have to drive the opposite direction to “fix his tyre” and that it’ll take 7 more minutes. I had to wait outside in the cold for around 25 minutes for the driver to come. The car stank so badly of cigarette smoke, the driver wasn’t wearing a mask like they do in Uber and he took the longest possible route. Anyway, I ended up coming home like 45 minutes later than I should’ve. I wouldnt have minded if I saved some money, instead I paid £8.30 which was 2 pounds more than I would’ve paid with Uber. I paid extra money to be dropped home almost an hour later than usual. Please don’t download this terrible app unless you want to waste your time and money. This will be first and last time I use this! ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2019-12-27, version 32.1.10* Majority of the drivers are rude and don’t know their way around town For example -Asking me to give directions the whole way home and trying to drive off the motorway where there wasn’t even an exit. Pretty sure it’s their job to know where they’re going & Pretty sure most of these drives don’t even have a licence the way they drive. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work, neither do the staff *2018-08-03* I rarely get a Budget taxi, even though they always come on time, good service, good price. Why? 1. The app doesn’t work. I’ve tried to enter my card details countless times and the app says they’re invalid (Uber seems to take my money fine). 2. They don’t give a crap about their customers - there’s no support team for the app and although I’ve told them at the office many tines of my issue they can’t be bothered to get back to me and sort it out. Taxis 10, app and support NIL ### 1/5 — Ridiculous *2018-05-03* After walking to some distant shops where I live (45 mins) I decided to call a taxi instead of carrying the bags back. The app told me the driver would be there to pick me up in 5 mins. So around 20 mins later the car on the app finally begins to drive towards me but my phone charge is beginning to run low as I keep on checking. I then received a call off the driver but my phone froze and turned off before I could press answer so I went looking for the taxi at the Tesco entrance. About 30 seconds later the car pulled up and I signalled him down only to see him frowning at me like he wasn’t expecting me, I asked if this was for me and his reply was that I didn’t pick up the phone so he answered another job. I told him my phone died and he replied I’ll have to call another, WITHOUT A PHONE. So I ended up having to walk home which I could’ve done 20 mins before. Stupid punishment for such a simple accident, couldn’t be bothered to wait 2 mins to see if I was there even though he pulled up anyway!? ### 3/5 — A bit slow *2021-11-21, version 33.3.13* This app is a bit slow to use. When opening it, there is a loading screen which just seems to take ages to load. Then using the booking service is also slow. I tap on the screen and it taked ages to respond and then finding a taxi is also slow. The UI is also not very good. Driver’s always make sure I get to my destination safely. The drivers are always attentive to my disability and park as close to my destination as possible.
